Provides a systematic and logical approach for finanical pro
Mark Matson provides a systematic and logical approach for the financial professional in his audio tape series Mind over Money. He finds a way to prudently streamline the rigorous investment process while not pushing a product. Mind over Money provides good solid information and time proven techniques that allow the financial professional to do what's right for their company and MORE importantly what's right for their clients.

It's a clear useful tool not just a product being hyped.
I found Mind over Money to be a useful tool to developing my company. When I first bought it I thought it might be more hype trying to sell financial help. But clearly Mark Matson is interested in sharing the recipe he has used to develop a hughely successful financial firm. He has diagnosed methods to get on the same team as technology. Until now I always seemed to be the enemy of, and intimidated by, new technology. Now I understand how to use it to my advantage and even my profit. Its great to be a technolgoy teammate! I recommend to any veteran in the financial field to listen to this tape series. Matson points out the "cycles" (what I call the "same old rut") I was trapped in and because of listening to it I have escaped some of my old ruts and moved into more porfitable areas. Thanks Amazon.com and Mind over Money for a fresh clear look at the all to often merky and confusing financial world.

Well worth your time and money, a valuable resource.
Whether you are planning to start a computer repair business, have already started one, have doubts about how you run business, or need to view your business from a fresh perspective to improve it, this book will be well worth your time and money. Questions about how to get started, how to market, what works and what doesn't work as well, to rent or not, to hire or not, to build or to buy, to upgrade or to replace, etc are all covered. The answers to these questions are not dictated, but the issues surrounding them are brought out by the author's opinions and experience, giving enough reasons to make your own conclusions.
I read this book after being in business for 3.5 years. I wish I had this resource before I started, if so, I would be much further along. The book seems to cover almost every topic that I have struggled with to date. In almost every case, through trial and error I have come to the same conclusions as those voiced by the author. In other areas, I was still trying to decide an approach regarding aspects of the business, and the book's content was useful in coming to a conclusion. Despite having been in business for a time, I still have much to learn. With some aspsects of the business I had concluded foggily that something did or did not work, but had not pinpointed the reasons, and reading the book made it more clear.

With many topics it was reassuring to read that someone with more experience than myself had arrived at the same conclusion using similar logic. If you find yourself working hard, and making too little money for your efforts, reading this book will help you start charging what you should be making.

This book is an absolute neccessity for the aspiring pro

A Perfect Graduation Gift
This would be a perfect graduation gift for a high school student. Give him or her a dose of vital truth before subjecting them to economic B.S. on the university level. If only I could have read this book 20 years ago. James Ewart does a magnificent job exposing how the banking system operates and how ongoing unconstitutional expansion of the money supply waters down the value of our wallet and checkbook money. When you are the victim of a continuing con-game, the sting is not comprehended, the propaganda has been effective and the billionaires make out like bandits. Now you have the key to the magic trick in "Money" and all economics becomes very simple, only the slight of hand and propaganda was the source of confusion. So, if you are of a state of mind which could not contemplate the possibility of criminals running the United States, then this book isn't for you, stick with looser job and Sunday football and boring spouse, and ride ol' nellie down; on the otherhand, if you have been curious, or sensed something was wrong, but couldn't put your finger on it, JUST WHY SHOULD ALAN GREENSPAN BE ALLOWED TO MANIPULATE YOUR MONEY ANYWAY? DOES LIBERTY AND FREE ENTERPRIZE MEAN ANYTHING? , then this book is for you, It rates a 5 star, and every patriotic American should have a copy nearby.

The Classic work on money
Jim Ewart has produced a classic work entitled Money. More than simply a fine 'coffee table' exposition on our understanding of the nine most important monetary terms (money, currency, dollar, pay, note, bill, tender, usury, and inflation), it is THE premiere showcase work on the pictorial history of money. This expensively designed and printed book is the first to show all of the original American forms of coinage and paper currency in full color plates. They are gorgeous. Ewart walks you through all the fascinating fine print on each bill showing how government has slowly changed the fiduciary relationship between citizen and currency -- to the citizen's detriment. While I think Ewart sometimes makes too much out of the nuances of etymology (tracking the root meaning of words), when you get through his conversational explanations on money, banking and credit, you'll be an expert on the terminology of money and much better equipped to see through the deceptive fine print still in use in many of today's bank loan documents. Again, this is a showcase-quality hardback book printed on glossy paper -- a treasure house of color reproductions. It's priced none too high for the value, in my opinion.

Joel Skousen, editor World Affairs Brief

Money is misunderstood and important: Here is your answer.
MONEY: You shall have honest weights and measures, by James Ewart.

"Let me issue and control a nation's money and I care not who writes its laws". This quote is attributed the first great merchant banker Meyer Amschel Rothschild. We take the currency in our wallet for granted. However, the control of money is the most subtle and important of all the issues which govern human affairs. One of the results is that if foul play is planned It needs to be covered up. Most teaching at universities in economics is part of this cover up. The history of money can be found in this book. In the wonderful new the style of modern publishing this book is also user-friendly. Though you will find all the correct information between its covers it is wonderfully illustrated with photographs of money never before released. The history of coin and paper currency emerges from its pages almost live. You end up, however, with a true understanding of the horror which is central banking. The book is so attractive that every intellectual will want to have it on his coffee table for a decoration and when the time is right for a serious discussion.

Your Money Or Your Life

Sheldon Richman's argument is based on the moral issue of the income tax and why this tax should be abolished.

Richman presents us with facts and claims of how our government is flawed by forcing the American worker to give up a portion of his income, though no one actually consented. Along with surrendering a percentage of our earned income, we must allow them to have access to our personal financial records of the exact amount one earns. The tax enforcers accomplish this through lies and deceit. Both which preceded and followed the Sixteenth Amendment.

The American wage earner is "commandeered", says Richman, by this taxation, and if you do not, the government will institute a fine or even have you imprisoned. His conclusion is this is theft and unjust.

Richman's other basic argument's for abolishing the income tax is as follows:

1.The state demands a sum of our money, and refusing to give it up is punishable.
2.It is a voluntary system.
3.Repercussions for not volunteering.
4.It is wasteful.
5. It illustrates the corruption and out of control spending by the government.
6.Lawmakers need a never-ending flow of cash
7.The income tax is the only tax allowed that corrupts society.
8.The income tax is a blank check for the government.
9.The income tax makes you poorer.

Richman presented clear and convincing arguments for his reasons to abolish the income tax. Richman also makes an interesting comparison of the government being like a mugger who "occasionally shines his victim's shoes", and a membership to a club has access to certain amenities only if the dues are paid, it not one is not allowed in, not arrested. By the same token, a property owner who is not "actively using the government's services" still owes the taxes.

This argument of why the income tax should be abolished by Richman is deductively strong. Mr. Richman used statistical evidence as well as causal arguments through out.

A must read for every single American
This book is one of the best written on the subject of abolishing the income tax.

As Americans, we have been taught that paying our fair share of income taxes is the American way and our patriotic duty. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, the income tax is 100% against the American way and violates our very own Constitution.

This book exposes the complete history of the income tax, and its tyrannical, Gestapo like collection agency, the IRS. The IRS is the most feared organization American has ever known and they operate outside the bounds of the Constitution that is supposed to protect us from tyranny in government. What happened? Read this book to find out all of the sordid details.

Not only is this book a history lesson, but more importantly, it shows that we can survive without the income tax as we did for more than one hundred and fifty years before this form of communism was implemented into our lives.

If every American read this book, there would be a revolution by tomorrow morning.

Every American Should Read This Book!
Sheldon Richman's concise and informative book, Your Money Or Your Life, explains how the income tax is one of the greatest threats to the liberty of the American people ever devised. By making our employers surrogate federal tax collectors, most Americans don't feel the pain because they really don't know what they're losing. But even worse, as Richman points out, by having access to our paychecks, the government can tap into an almost limitless pool of money to expand its size and scope. We need to scrap the income tax and replace it with a tax on consumption.

recommended!
This book might well become the standard (mainstream) graduate text in monetary economics.

The best text on advanced macroeconomics there is.
This is the best book length treatment of the state of the art in academic thinking about inflation and central banking, a lot of what economics is about to lay people and politicians. While this is a graduate text in macroeconomics, in no way is it unnecessarily abtruse. You'll need to be comfortable with little more than algebra, linear difference equations, and the sort of elementary statistics practical economists do. Amazingly, this book has no obvious competitors because first rate economists wrongly disdain writing books.

Well worth buying.
This book provides a good grounding on monetary theory and the questions it wants to answer. It is easy to follow whilst providing covering most recent development. Its only drawback is that it uses the HP filter as the benchmark which any model should replicate, without accounting for the fact that there are several problems with that filter.

Must-read for job changers
This book was great! A headhunter caught me off gaurd with a great opportunity, but I had to make a decision faster than I was comfortable with. I got myself smart in about 2 days, and was able to negotiate a much better compensation package. I'd recommend it to anyone in a negotiation-situation.

Essential Career Book
Stock options have always been a big mystery to me. This book helped me understand what employers are talking about with stock options. I found tons of "insider" tips and real-life examples that I will put to use right away. In particular, I found the "secrets" of negotiating for stock options-- especially the tricks companies use to reduce stock options grants--to be especially eye-opening. I also learned how to think of myself as an investor and not just an employee--something I had never done before.

I've been able to adjust my own opportunites to negotiate for options. In addition, I found the book fun to read. The writing is fresh, clear, and the concepts easy to understand, even for a novice like me. I also found the glossary of terms and Internet resources to be very helpful tools. I highly recommend this book for job seekers and those who really want to know how to negotiate for all they're worth.

Dr. Lant is a Marketing Guru
Dr. Lant is one of the best marketing teachers on the internet. He cut my learning curve in less than half. What is so important about this book is that is shows you the ACTUAL steps to creating a marketing machine on the internet. This is my first review, but I felt so strongly about the potential this book can have in your life (as it has in mine) if you are SERIOUS about marketing online.

Dr. Lant is a profound author, but what I like about this book so much is that if you have the ambition to become wealthy, this book will take you by the hand and show you the way.

Dr. Lant shows the common person how to make money!
Dr. Lant is honest and up-front in all his business endeavors. He has changed my life! He will tell you simply, honestly and up-front how to profit online. Success is a POLICY for him! If you follow his advise, you have to work VERY HARD hard to fail!!! He not only tells you how to prosper on the internet....he works it as well, so he can keep his "finger on the pulse". I just can not say enough!

Great book!
This book is great for parents. It offers realistic advice! I am the author of The ABC's of College Life, which is a street-smart guide for teens. I consider this book the street-smart guide for the 'rents!

A great book for any parent with kids in college.
As a very protective parent I wanted to read all I could about my daughters up in coming experience at college. I myself never attend college and this book gave me so much insight. I appreciate the author's candid talk about difficult topics such as alcohol and drugs. I felt at ease after reading it. I recommend this book to everyone I know with kids heading off to college. I also purchased and read Major In Success by Patrick Combs and it was the perfect book for my daughter. Don't Tell Me What To Do Just Send Money was a great book for me and Major In Success was perfect for my daughter. It gave her all the advice she needed to make the most of her college experience.

A Great Find!
After reading 4 to 5 various books similar to this topic I wished that I would have read this one first. It covers it all! A very thorough book full of insights into parenting during this questionable time of your childs life. I love the "What to Do" and "What Not to Do" sections and also the "What You Are Thinking" and "What Your Child is Thinking". My daughter is now a freshman at UF and this book was very affirming as I reflected back and found out that YES....this is NORMAL! This would of been the only book I bought and spent my time reading IF only I would have found it sooner. It will truly serve as a reference and I will keep it close at hand so I can flip through the index to find the current "crisis" explained and get insights as to how to handle. I plan on purchasing this book for graduation gifts for the parents of those children graduating from High School. It is a MUST read!

Anecdote collection that lacks depth
I would recommend this book only to the complete novice to angel and venture investing. I was hoping for more details regarding the angel investing process. One thing it teaches, though, is that angel investors are much less sophisticated and organized than professional venture capitalists (the way I understood it). What it feels like is a collection of experiences with the interpretation left mostly to the reader. Great if that's what you're looking for.

Attracting Capital from Angels is invaluable.
"The complexity of business in economically demanding times makes finding constructive angels that much more challenging. The advice and tips in Attracting Capital from Angels are, therefore, invaluable. The wisdom offered here is not just for start-ups or neophytes, but is a well-timed companion to already existing resources and approaches to helping a business in all phases of development. It's also a great manual for people who want to share their knowledge (and invest capital) as an angel. I plan to recommend Attracting Capital from Angels to every entrepreneur I run into in the future who asks for mentoring sources. Great job!" (Bob Bozeman, General Partner, Angel Investors, LP)

Fresh and original...a must read on an important topic
A real gem! In over 35 years as a serial entrepreneur, investment banker and angel investor, I've come across dozens of books addressing various aspects of raising money, writing a business plan and/or finding investors. Most rehash existing theories and consolidate existing sources of research and advice on the topic. Brian and Dee have done a remarkable job of gathering fresh information through direct interviews, original essays and new surveys. The result is a truly enlightening, useful and very readable work which should become The Bible for anyone thinking of starting a business, financing an existing one, or investing as an angel themselves.

A must read even for someone just interested in learning more about Angel Investing, a little known area of our economy which just happens to be one of the most powerful drivers of our free enterprise system.

very good
thoroughly enjoyed this tape don't any more money, but have some great new money making ideas

A Powerful Tool to Bring More Money into Your Life!
I really enjoyed reading this book, because it taught me how to attract money through spiritual means. The author includes helpful examples and practical exercises which will teach you how to reprogram your subconscious mind to attract more prosperity into your life. This book is especially helpful if you seem baffled by the lack of money in your life, for the answer often lies in your subconscious beliefs. Robert shows you in very simply, easy-to-understand manner how to change these beleifs and change your relationship with money. Highly recommended!

My friend got even better results than me!
I have several of Mr. Griswold's tapes and recommend them to my friends. This one is very good and I think it has helped me to have a more prosperous attitude. I'm just jealous of my friend. He borrowed my copy and only listened to it once or twice. Incredibly the money has been rolling in for him ever since. My only problem with the tape is that the brief introductory part gets repetitive. But Mr. Griswold suggests you skip over this anyhow.
