Wonderful light reading for PG moms
All mothers will enjoy and relate to these beautiful stories. There are also several stories written from Dad's perspective. Expecting moms, be sure to have a box of tissues handy! As I read this book, I am expecting my second child. It was wonderful to think back over when I was PG with my son and to cherish the life growing inside me now as I read.

The Title Says It All
My mother just purchased this book for me a few days ago. I've already read all of it. I plan to re-read it. The stories, cartoons, poems, etc. are so moving. You will find yourself connecting to these anecdotes in a way that will increase your awareness of yourself as a future parent or a parent-once-more. This book should be a hit with expectant Moms (AND expectant Dads), no matter what their situation. This book offers a variety of points of view and discusses many situations. There were humorous stories about pregnancy and delivery, expectant fathers points of view, the emotions of expecting and facing adversity during pregnancy, the special bonds created when adopting a child, passing the torch from one generation to the next. Cartoons, and other humorous anecdotes are guaranteed to make you laugh. Some stories will make you cry. This book will move you. The emotions and bonds created during pregnancy and adoption will be deepened and you will find your soul stretching!

Loved this book!
My husband and I read this book together at night before going to bed when I was pregnant, and really enjoyed it! We found it to be inspiring and a great book to read when we were excited and nervous about becoming parents. Even after we had our baby I found myself still enjoying it. I have since loaned it to a pregnant friend and she has loved it as much as we did. This book would be a great one to give to a friend who is expecting or to buy for yourself.

It definitely will impact them in many different ways. There are memories that come flooding back as they relate to the stories told. Breathtaking
This is a beautiful book containing some of the best poems ever written. Cowboys have a simple way of getting their point across, yet they write so tenderly and sometimes even a bit shyly. I highly recommend this book to cowboys and cowgirls everywhere who are hopeless romantics. What makes this book even nicer, is that it's broken into chapters, by subject. Whether it be heartbreak, courting, or just simply lovesick; this book is awesome!

the best cowboy poetry book ever
This is such a tender view of America's favorite guy. I really enjoyed the range of time spanned by this book. I bought it originally in hardcover and then lent it to someone and never got it back. But the paperback is very high quality. You'll read "Lasca" and two of Waddie Mitchell's poems and lots of Omar Barker. It is a classic sure to please anyone. I read it aloud to my wife and she cried. I read it to my buddy at work and he laughed out loud at some of the poems. It's a great book.

This was a terrific book if you love poetry and the West!!!
As an English teacher, I plan on using this book in class when I teach about the American West and the literature associated with it. Having known some REAL cowboys, I can truly relate to the poetry in the book. More books like this please!!

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater: Jack Mitchell Photographs

A Paradigm of Modern Dance Photography
This timeline of images from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater not only projects abundant talent, but is also an exceptionally outstanding collage of dance photography in that it seems to capture the true spirit and demeanor of Alvin Ailey as well as the rest of the dancers. Aside from capturing their intricate technical work and radial energy, Jack Mitchell's photography seems to breathe life into every picture.

Not only does this collaboration of photographs demonstrate the dancers' intensity and creativity, but the images themselves are captured from acclaimed performances choreographed by Alvin Ailey, Donald McKayle, Judith Jamison, Masazumi Chaya, and other well respected names in the modern dance world. This book definitely display's the company's growth and development, and similarly showcases numerous dancers (from Donna Wood to Desmond Richardson) which have artistically contributed to the company throughout the years.

I loved being able to become completely absorbed for hours with the various breathtaking extensions, leaps, and partnering which the dancers portrayed. All of the images are truly inspiring, and their essence of modern dance is a definite must see for artists & non-artists of all ages. This is a book that everyone can appreciate.

What's better than holiday OT and a Sales Rep with donuts?
So for nurses, what is better than holiday overtime and that nice young pharmaceutical rep with the glazed donuts? War stories! And a whole group of other nurses to share them with.

Let's face it, we have to edit our stories around lay people, temper the humor, spare them the deep, down visceral core of our feelings---the fact that have to laugh in the face of disaster, and that we cry in linen closets. But around other nurses? Honey, just sit down a minute and prop up those tired feet and let me tell you a tale....

This is what is so absolutely great about Chicken Soup For the Nurse's Soul: it's the nitty gritty on why we love our profession. And why we continue to love it in the midst of our hardest times, our darkest hours and even now when our country is in crisis with a nationwide nursing shortage. It's a book about dedication and caring. And just who it is on the other side of that thermometer.

Every story in this book is aimed right at our hearts---to make us cry, laugh, shake our heads at what we have survived, and to bring us hope and strength. To make us proud of what we do.

Kudos to Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, LeAnn Thieman--a hero in her own right-- and Nancy Mitchell Autio for this gift you have given us: The right to speak out and be proud.

Wonderful!
Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul pays grateful tribute to nurses - - those exalted and capable servants who selflessly tend the sick, injured, aged, and downhearted with deep compassion and unceasing dedication. Containing more than one hundred true stories of service and sacrifice, this uplifting book tugs on your heart strings and tickles your funny bone while artfully honoring the noble profession of nursing. Anyone who has ever been the recipient or the provider of health care will be challenged, motivated, and enlightened by these inspiring, true-life examples of exceptional courage, commitment and caring.

Nurse's need this!
Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul is a book long overdue. These stories cannot help but touch the hearts and souls of all who read it, nurses or not. Nurses will recognize their own experiences somewhere in these stories, which affirm the personal nature of nursing and the importance of personal touch involved in the care of others. The authors have done nursing a wonderful service in bringing to light the touching, funny, heartfelt anecdotes shared by those at the bedside.

Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul
Very good book! Having been diagnosed with Cervical cancer, I found it encouraging to know that there are many cancer survivors out there.

Chicken soup for the Surviving Soul
After my diagnosis with breast cancer five years ago at age 28,this book was part of my salvation. Reading stories of otherssurvival helped me to realize that cancer is beatable. I now recommend this book to other cancer patients.

Faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love
"Malignant", to hear this word when you or someone you love is diagnosed brings feelings of despair, fear and abandonment. The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series gives you bits of humanity and makes you feel hopeful, trusting and accepting. The stories, poems and essays are put together to give to us encouragement. I myself am a 5 year survivor of stage 2 breast cancer and find the pages filled with new beginnings.

I loved this book
Once again, there's not a lot that's terribly new here but the basic concept of customer service cannot be overstressed: treat people as you would like to be treated yourself. I own a high-end retail establishment on Madison Avenue in New York City. I had become so fed up hearing my employees complain about the mega-stores and mega-brands taking away our business that I had them read this book and we discussed it at a staff meeting. It made a huge difference, and the customers have definitely noticed. If you like this one, then I would also recommend the new book about a small coffee business called "Beans." The same tenets apply.

Jack Mitchell is right on target
Jack Mitchell is right on target. Mr Mitchell takes care of his employees by paying a good wage with all of the perks. They then in turn "hug" their customers by paying attention to their needs.

My Marketing professor in college had this same philosophy which he passed along to me. But in the world of business companies fail to hug the customer by thinking that the company is more important than the customer.

Jack Mitchell is the type of boss whom I would love to work for. Cudos to Mr Mitchell for sharing his philosophy.

I have since passed along this book to my employer.

Believe What You Read
Having had first hand experience shopping at Mitchells and Richards you can be assured that what you read is what you get. The Hug book chronicles the non fiction path to over the top customer satisfaction. Jack has achieved the pinnacle and diplayed "The Formula" for everyone to emulate. An easy, quick read full of implementable strategies that apply to any business. Loved every page!
