This is the book!
I have bought several different training books but this is the only one that really explains in detail everything you need to know. I live in Europe and there is no way I'll find a western trainer in my area, so I really needed advice, and this book gives it. Very helpful, from what you need in bits, bridles, saddles, spurs, and why, and how to best select it all for you and your horses. Then light handed horsemanship from the very beginning, from the first the minutes of meeting a colt at birth, all the way to how to teaching him to side step, it is all in there. Excellent!

Authentic Horse Whisperer
The book was created from class notes from a college professor and lifetime horseman. An authentic horse whisperer. Behavior information was researched and documented. Offers step by step directions on how to break and train a horse from a colt to a trained horse. All is based on horse behavior. I am the daughter of the author and have broken many horses under his methods!

now in VB.NET - and for version 1
I reviewed the orginal version of this book which was in C#. I've been lucky enought ot get my hands on the new VB.NET edition and it is even better than the original. I am more used to VB as it is, and I spent quite a lot of time translating some of the code snippets in the original, but now I don't have to! The book has changed a bit, it looks better than the first edition, and it is now completely 1.0 compliant. I've used the first book a lot, it's told me more or less everything I've needed to know. If you need to know about web services and you prefer VB then this is the only book you'll need!

not quite as advertised
This is the Revised Brief Thirteenth edition, not the full edition. The paperback version comes with a plastic ring binder that is not suitable for heavy use. In short, this is not the version that a professional editor would want, although it might be fine for students.

Very complete!!!
I found this book to be a wonderful reference when writing anything from a short paper to a forty page research paper. Neither would have been possible without this text. A great buy!

A Thorough and Complete Grammar Reference
The only reference you will need for everyday professional and proper usage of the English language. Very well organized and extremely easy to use. I highly recommend this book.

Gives valuable information in one complete reference
Having previously read "Netware Professional Reference" by Karanjit Siyan, I hoped this edition would follow in the same light. This book is a real help for network administrators as it gives good examples and solutions of day to day problems.

This book is designed as a reference not a study guide. This is one of the best Intranetware books I have read to date.

I've used this book as a desk reference and it's great.
I have all of my "favorite places" marked for quick reference. The book is not organized to study for CNE exams. However, it has the information for Intranetware Network Administrators need for managing their networks. It contains a great index for quick look-ups.

Insight from someone who's been there
I was expecting more of a how-to book when I bought this but was not at all disappointed. This funny and inspiring book gave some insight into the life, work and thoughts of one of our time's greatest actors. This is an good book for both fans of Shakespeare and of biographies.

Okay
Like so many other books written by corporate presidents selling creative thinking, it is full of how I did this job at this prestigious company. A marketing exercise rather then a book to advice you how to do it.

I found that it had few ideas.

not bad.
Kind of an ordinary treatment of creativity in the workplace. But has a value.

One of the top 30 business books of 1999 (out of 1500)
This is a how-to manual for inspiring and supporting creativity at the individual, group, and organizational level. It teaches you how to recognize your own innvate creative qualities. You will then be introduced to what Miller calls the "Creative Journey" -- a four stage process through which every type of creative endeavor passes. It offers a framework for identifying a challenge, focusing on priority issues, generating creative ideas, and implementing them. The gbook offers a variety of techniques for developing ideas and shows you the four "innovation styles" on which all idea-generation techniques are based. Also learn how to spark the motivation required for high level creativity by uniting people behind a shared purpose, a vision for thefuture, and aset of core values. It shos you how to ignite the internal drive and enthusiasm in yourself and others that launch creativity to its fullest potential. ...from Soundview Executive Book Summaries

Yeah, I got snookered
I was very surprised when I ordered this book and found out that yes, indeed, it was merely a very tiny portion of what I had expected. I suppose I should have known from the price, but the description (at least at that time) did not make it clear that it wasn't the entire dictionary.

Must have more complete info before ordering...
While this may be a very thorough source for the words it covers, it should be noted in the basic information that this is ONLY 128 pages of a 15,000 page work. The description above is very misleading.

5 stars
itz a dictionary. what more can i say

Change the Way You Persuade (HBR OnPoint Enhanced Edition)
Published in Digital by Harvard Business School Press (28 June, 2003)
Authors: Gary A. Williams and Robert B. Miller
Amazon base price: $7.00
Average review score:

New Package; Old Ideas
Unfortuantely, the title of this review says it all. In a nutshell, the authors argue that we need to adapt our style--that we need to adapt our persuasive technique--to the audience. This idea has been around since Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle and, unfortunately, this article adds nothing new. The one potential value of this article is that the authors use the "lingo" of business professionals. I would certainly never give Aristotle to my MBA or executive students, but I might consider giving them this article as additional (not required) reading. I certainly found the article to be interesting, and the topic is of tremendous importance to all business professionals. If you are just starting to explore managerial persuasion, then go ahead and give this item a try. My suspicion is that those seriously interested in persuasion will soon find that better resources are available. As an alternate starting point, consider reading Robert Cialdini's article which appeared in HBR a few months earlier (if my memory serves). I humbly claim that Cialdini's work is a better starting point, both theoretically and practically speaking. Additionally, HBR printed an article titled "The Necessary Art of Persuasion" a few years ago and I believe this article may be the best on applied persuasion I have read in years. So give Williams' and Miller's article a try if you are just starting, but don't stop your search with this article. There is some great material out there from our colleagues at HBR, and even more when you start exploring the books available. Happy hunting.
