A wonderful celebration of the pastime of duck hunting
Illustrated with gorgeous black-and-white color photographs and the occasional painting, Duck Hunting on the Fox: Hunting & Decoy-Carving Traditions by duck hunter and decoy maker Stephen M. Miller is a wonderful celebration of the pastime of duck hunting with decoys and other techniques along the Fox River of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Miller deftly demonstrates his love of the sport and vividly recounts his experiences hunting ducks on the Fox since the 1930s. Duck Hunting On The Fox is enthusiastically recommended as an engaging collection of anecdotes about the joy of waterfowling, and would make an excellent giftbook for those who truly love the sport.

Excellent book
This International Security reader is a great collection of the recent work in the realist tradition in International Relations. Here you can read the "classic" authors (like Waltz and Walt) and the "new generation" (Schweller - excellent - and Zakaria). The introduction, written by the editors of the volume, is wonderful: it really "maps" realism and its authors. There is also two essays by John Mearsheimer, the "hardcore" realist and his gloomy "Back to the Future" article. Great book and certainly worth the money. This is the best book in the "International Security" readers series.

The Whitney Biennial catalog you have to have
The Whitney Biennial is the kind of exhibition that critics love to hate.My recommendation is to ignore thae critics, see it for yourself and buy the catalog. This is a great book for those who love contemporary art. The essays on the exhibition and on the individual artist are informative and well written. The plates are also great.

The Best Guide to the Debate
Since the publication of Michael Doyle's piece on Liberalism and Democracy in 1983, the debate over the democratic piece has been one of the most vigorous in the field of International Relations. This volume includes all the major works on the subject, including Doyle's original piece, as well as his latest thinking. Also included are John Owen's perceptual explanation of the democratic piece, and David Spiro's brilliant quantitative critique of it. For those looking to understand the debate, it is clearly the best body of work yet in print. The only drawback is that the debate seems to be tapped out; there is little new to contribute, and some feel enough has been said already and we need to move in directions.

It can't get any better than this
In essense, this is a response to the prior review. I agree with everything but the last line which I will paraphrase: what has been said has been said about the democratic peace proposition and theorists need to move on. The last chapter of this book, contributed by Michael Doyle, outlines future paths that research of the DPT can continue, and considering that the U.S. government emphasizes the development of democracy in many of its foreign policy endeavers, sometimes with out success, it is imperative that more work be continued. This collaboration of essays provides an excellent starting point understand the debate, but further analysis is continuing. If you are intersted in the DPT, DO NOT END HERE!

A cool mix
This is collection of short stories that offers a wide mix of speculative genres. Fantasy, SF, horror, and just plain weird. The stories run the gambit and most are good. "Jeo Defined" and "Moon Warrior" were excellent stories and well worth purchasing the book. Even just the so-so stories were enjoyable and all the authors are names to keep a look out for. In the end, this is a book of up and coming writers and a few of them will no doubt be big names someday.

A Great Read
I didn't know what to expect from this collection of short stories but I was happily surprised. The stories cover a wide range from fantasy, science fiction, and horror to those hard to classify strange stories. Each one is worth reading. My favorites were the one about a radio personality who was singing the Siren's song and the one about a criminal who is forced to undergo "augmentation" to control him. Some wild stuff for a great read.

Not worth the paper it's printed on
I hate giving bad reviews, but I love telling the truth. This book is full of techniques that any practicing Occultist will have mastered long ago. It's nothing new or interesting, nor anything particularly innovative. The only use I can find for this book is as a self-teaching tool for those with no experience in energy working. If you've worked energy succesfully before, just skip over this one and go for a more useful book.

Best book on the subject
I have read quite a few books on psychic skills and energy work but this is by far the best book on the subject. If you are interested in learning how to develop and control the energy that resides in all of us, this book will help. It includes basic exercises to help you feel and control this energy. It gets an A+ in my book.

Absolutely essential to energy work.
I have never found any guide to energy work as practical, easy to understand and use as this one. Step by step exercises and inhanced photography will impress even the most skeptical readers. I've found it an invaluable teaching resource.
