"I LOVE THEREFORE I AM" is a wonderful, sensitive book
Peter McWilliams has outdone himself again with this book. It is a heart-warming, soul-bearing work done with the sensitivity that only a Peter McWilliams can possess. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ever felt emotion toward another person.

A true reflection of where we are when we're in love.
Therapy in paperback. An easy to read, sensible walk through the various phases of being in love and ultimately being out of love. The poems mirror that which we've all felt, sometimes said, but never received royalties for.

Affordable yet lovely gift book on committed love
A pretty little gift book at the perfect price giving to anyone you know getting hitched. The author combines his own verse, famous quotes, and old time illustrations to effectively say, "I love you and you are the only one for me." Everyone in love will find a few pages that they'll feel were written "just for them."

Start at the beginning. Stop when you are ready. Start again
I never expected anything from this little bundle, but got the world. Isn't it amazing, that in the last place you look comes insight. What makes sense, stop there. Thanks to John Roger for compiling such an amazing direction. I cannot wait to read the large version of this baby. I have only just gotten to the web and am glad to share what has been with me since the book came into my hands.

Beautiful photographs
These photographs are mostly of beautiful men (although there are women and children), mostly black & white (although there is some color), and mostly of faces (although there are some body shots).

McWilliams (mostly known for his nonfiction books) has an ability to capture personality on film. You look at a photo and say, "I'd like to meet that person." He obviously cares about people as well as the art of the portrait.

He quotes Ansel Adams: "To photograph truthfully and effectively is to see beneath the surface and record the qualities of nature and humanity which lie or are latent in all things."

Although McWilliams is obviously an artist with the camera, he does not take himself too seriously. He also quotes Gore Vidal: "Photography is the "art form' of the untalentend."

I've seen hundreds of collections of photographs, and this is one of the best.

Great companion book
The work book is a great companion to "How to Survive the Loss of a Love." This workbook helped define how I was feeling, when I had no words to say. There are excerises in the workbook for you do do. An example is an excerise in coloring and drawing with the non dominate hand, to help uncover what is really going on in the grieving process you are experiencing. I deal better with "self-help" than with "group theropy." I highly recommend this for anyone who values their privacy, but has grieving issues to deal with.

Makes this World a Better Place
This is one of the best books on the planet. The author has succesfully put into words the personal rewards people recieve when they donate their time or other resources. I feel compelled to get involved in some project asap when I open this book. Like the other books in the Life 101 series, you can read this book through or open to any page for inspiration or meditation. Many books about success emphasize giving as essential to personal success; this book clarifies that and motivates readers to share themselves.

This Book Got Me Through It
I read this book years ago when I was going through a very painful breakup. My mom sent me not one, but 4 copies, with instructions to hand others out as other people in my life needed them. Now, a close friend of mine is going through a difficult loss, similar to my own. I am about to pass on my last copy (saving, of course, the one that I read) knowing that this book will get her on the right track. This book is ECXELLENT, and gave me all the tools to get through the hardest times. When you buy this book, be sure to buy extras so that when it's your turn to be the shoulder to cry on, you can pass one on to them!

A must read for anyone trying to recover from a loss
Any one who has had a loss in his or her life can benefit from reading this book. It is an easy and quick read and takes you through step-by-step what to expect in the recovery process. The first time I read it, I cried as I read every page. Each successive time I read it, I cried at different parts of the book, i.e. the healing process. It helped me realize that I was actually recovering from my loss, which is a great help when you are in such pain you don't think you'll ever feel normal again.

Especially when everyone around you is trying to keep you from crying and encouraging you to forget your loss, this book gave me an outlet for my grief. It gave me permission to cry when I needed to cry, kept me from wallowing in grief as I continued to live, and helped me to accept my loss and start over.

Eventually, I was able to read the complete book without a tear.

I recommend it.

Read this book and give one to a good friend in need
I found "How to Survive the Loss of a Love" to be very comforting in my time of need. The text gave me a solid perspective and a sense of hope at a time when I wasn't thinking clearly. Many of the poems express thoughts and feelings that are so close to my own that they bring immediate solice. The book is short and reads very quickly - just perfect for someone whose mind is focussed on their pain and thus isn't in a mood for deep concentration. I recommend buying one for yourself and another one for a friend.

LIKE A MULTI-VITAMIN FOR YOUR MIND!
I read this book at a time in my life when I was feeling very down. I was recovering from a couple of very trying life crises when I came upon this remarkable book. In its pages the origin of negative thinking is revealed along with its effects on our mind and body. As I turned the pages I found myself nodding in agreement as if the authors were revealing something inside of me that had always been there but up to that point had been inaccessible.

Negative thinking can be overt or quite subtle but either way it makes for a chronic, low-grade infection of the mind and soul. This book shows you the way out of the traps of resentment, jealousy, judgement, unhappiness, and despair. Far from being preachy, this book uses common sense along with a brilliant layout to help you to a better life. Whether you are sick in body or mind, you will find the tools in the pages of this book to build for yourself a whole new outlook on life.

P.S. If you can find the companion cassette-tape series read by David Warrilow (now out of print, unfortunately) get them! Warrilow's rich voice bring the pages to life in a wonderful way and you'll find yourself listening and reading or both over and over again!

This is a really wonderful book
I have battled depression on and off for much of my life, and I have to say that this is the best self-help book I have ever read. It is absolutely wonderful. It makes you want to memorize every quote and every precious, uplifting word of wisdom. Some people might say that the things in this book are common sense, but if that's the case, when I look around I see that common sense isn't so common! This book really is a must have for anyone who wants to improve their disposition and feel better emotionally.

A good one
Like any other self help book this too was interesting and most helpful. Unlike other self help books at times this book is very funny too. Writers suggest to have healthy fears such as having sex with gorillas etc. and that all other different fears are not
more but just illusions.
The bottom line - if you strive for knowledge or if you have negative thoughts swimming safely in the ocean of your mind. Have this book, then read it, then apply things you've learned from it in daily life. RESULTS = almost PERFECT

I love to Smoke Pot
OK this is how it f ucking goes I smoke pot and I dont ever pass the blunt until I pass out

Very groundbreaking and tragic
It's sad to see medical marijuana users persecuted by the federal government. Todd McCormick is facing a 5-year minimum sentence for growing his medicine at home, as well as doing some medical-marijuana research.

The actual information relayed in the book is thorough. Instructions run from A to Z, covering all the steps in harvesting and maintaining a marijuana crop.

Actually, I'm not sure that the methods implied by McCormick to grow 'Mary' as medicine are the same ones coveted by recreational pot smokers. There may be a different variety of marijuana more specialized for intoxication. One of the goals of medical marijuana is to get full therapeutic benefits with minimal psychoactivity, not exactly the goal of stoners. Therefore I would recommend this primarily to those who plan to actually use marijuana as a medicine as opposed to a recreation.

Very good marijuana cultivation book.
Do not be fooled by the title my friends, medical marijuana is exactly the same as recreational marijuana so don't be discouraged to buy because of the title. Todd McCormick tells you step by step how to grow some kind buds, very simple- I also purchused (before this book) Closet Cultivator which is solely based on cultivation and I found that Todd's book was far more helpfull! This is a MUST HAVE! TRUST ME! Yes, I am high but I always am so.....Peace

Life 102: What to Do When Your Guru Sues You

Excellent book for anyone who has tried to leave a star
There is a lot of excellent information in this book for anyone who has been in a cult, certainly. I bought it for a slightly different reason: I wanted to hear how Peter McWilliams explained to himself the incredible stupidity of being sucked into such a bag of lies. I am satisfied with his descriptions, and the book is cheerful, and upbeat! Well worth the purchase price, and I am lucky to have stumbled upon it.

Like Peter, I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent, etc., and yet had been married to a person for 20 years (and tied up in court battles with him for the next 7) who was recently diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He was punitive, abusive, and selfish. I wondered if reading Peter's account of having made a similar series of terrible choices would help me in my recovery.

It did, and I highly recommend this book, and would love to thank Peter in person, if I could find an address for him. Also, like Peter, I was depressed in this negative relationship, so in 1992 I bought his book You can't afford the Luxury of a Negative Thought. Again, paralleling the author, as soon as my depression lifted, I was able to "get out" of the problem relationship. How interesting, then, that as the saga of disengaging reaches it's completion, Peter has again left me some "bread crumbs" to find my way home again.

This book is extremely valuable for anyone finding themselves in the unpleasant situation of feeling ridiculous for having succumbed to a bad relationship.

Tragicomedy At Its Best in a Sick and Twisted Karmic Drama
That MSIA now owns the copyright to "Life 102" is a telling admission that John-Roger wanted this embarrassing book killed and sent to hell. The book is an astonishing expose from Peter Mc Williams, a MSIA insider. While the book dishes the dirt on
J-R, the real untold story is still out there: How did MSIA get the copyright? Did Peter McWilliams sell the copyright because he is sick with cancer and needed the money? Did MSIA prevail in court in a legal fight? I have not been able to find out on the internet. Search engines are all linked to MSIA. This reeks of a MSIA tactic to control search engines -- something easy to do if you have enough of the faithful's tithes to spend on endarkenment.

J-R is rotten to the core if we are to believe Mc Williams' story. Yet Mc Williams comes across as being no better than J-R when all is said and done. Mc Williams plays the victim and J-R the bully. The two deserved each as we read of their sick and twisted karmic drama being played out in the pages of Life 102.
I would like to see J-R write "Life 103: What To Do When Your Devotee Writes a Sensationalized Expose On You."

The book is well worth reading and should belong in the library of anyone interested in the history of the New Age movement in America. Personally, the book did its job insofar as it convinced me to stay away from John-Roger and MSIA. I am of the opinion that MSIA has survived David McLane, the L.A. Times, and Mc WIlliams not because of its spirituality, but rather because of the power of its lawyers, a war chest full of money, a PR firm, and the ability to maintain a legal war against to grind its enemies to powder and outlast the interest of the critics.

A marvelously witty debunking of a true sleazeball!
Peter McWilliams has done the world a great service by writing this book. If only one person avoids the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness because of his efforts, his time and trouble (and he's had a lot!) will not have been in vain. His skewering of Arianna Huffington is particularly delicious.
