My kind of adventure
After finishing Karin McQuillan's first two books, Deadly Safari and Elephant's Graveyard, I couldn't wait to pick up Cheetah Chase. I was not disappointed by this third Jazz Jasper novel at all. It continued to develop the heroine's character, her relationships and her adventures in the African Jungle. McQuillan has a way of weaving her plots through a story that teaches as well as excites. I eagerly await more from her.

More than a good mystery
Africa is about the last place that comes to mind when I think of a mystery novel, which made this book all the more fresh and interesting. The cultural diversity of the characters and the wonderful integration of wildlife into the story were added bonuses. I will definitely read other books by Ms. McQuillan. Highly recommended.

an exciting, amazing, mysterious, thrilling adventure.
This is a thrilling adventure that will take you all the way to africa, where you will experience fear, mystery, and even romance. It will stick you to your seat, you won't be able to put it down

A atmospheric and interesting series
I'm in the middle of second of this series. I was especially drawn in by the vivid descriptions of Africa and the independent and spunky lead character. Jazz Jasper is an expatriate American trying to launch a tour business in Africa. A friend helps her to land a tour for an advertising firm scouting locations for a commercial campaign. A cast of assorted characters set out on their journey. Murder ensues. There is a nice Law and Order type twist at the end.

Deadly Safari is worth the trip.
Finding a new female mystery writer is always a treat for me. Karin McQuillan's novel, Deadly Safari has put me on to a new source of reading entertainment. Deadly Safari takes the reader to the wilds of the African Jungle where Jazz Jasper has thrown caution and common sense to the wind to run a Safari tour company. Her adventures paint a believable picture of that magnificent envirnoment with all the sights, sounds and smells completely intact. I particularly liked the action sequences and the interactions between the characters. The mystery is engaging and keeps the reader very much involved. What a great first novel. May there be many more.

a lyrical, captivating mystery
i loved this book. loved it! the characters are alive, the backdrop is breathtaking, the plot is gripping. every detail is well-thought-out and the storyline rushes along, plausible and probable. Jazz Jasper is a small-time independent safari guide struggling to keep her fledgling operation afloat and her clients safe and happy. I love the irony of the background - the beautiful, brutal African wilderness, but the threat from civilized man is greater as a murderer threatens Jazz and her entire tour group.

Beautiful Kenya, lousy mystery
The way, the author describes Kenya is wonderful. I've been there before and this book is like a safari to memory lane. Whether it is the beautiful Kenya of tourists and safaris and wildlife or the shocking Kenya of Nairobi slums, whether it is the culture of Kikuyu or the life of whites in this African country, it is all painted in vivid colors! I really loved that part. But the mystery part was sucks, pardon my language. I have already read "Deadly Safari" and it sounds so dumb, that the same lady should come across three murders in less than one year. And of course she solves them heroically. More or less without anybody's help. That's great, it's just a little too way off for my taste. If I may suggest something to the author: keep writing about Kenya, but try something different from mystery. Or at least let go of Jazz Jasper!

I dig the Elephant's Graveyard
As with her first Jazz Jasper novel, Deadly Safari, Karin McQuillan's Elephant's Graveyard provides adventure, mystery and entertainment. That's a good start. On top of that, McQuillan's action scenes are among the most exciting and gritty ever written for a woman protagonist. Set in the beauty of the African Jungle, Elephant's Graveyard explores all kinds of relationships between people, animals, the environment, and ultimately, between good and evil. It's a great read that comes complete with a set of moral standards firmly in place. Write on, Karin McQuillan. Jazz is a winner.

Mystery - Nature - Africa Lovers' Book
This is my second book by author Karin McQuillan, and I am ready to read her third - Cheetah Chase! The book is well written, interesting - fast paced and lyrical at different points. The author's love of Africa, of its wildlife and her perceptive understanding of human nature come through very clearly. The book is written intelligently, with unexpected twists and turns to keep the reader curious and challenged. Its main protagonist is a real and likeable personality. I look forward to book number four!
