BOO!
An adorable story about Preston the Masked Avenger who sneaks throughout the town scaring his neighbors with his bellowing "Boo!" All is fun and games until Preston decides to scare his father and is sent to his room with out dinner. Children will love the suspense and comedy of the story. Adults will enjoy the subtle humor; such as Mr. Wolf's house having a posted sign "No Wood Cutters" or a red riding hood sticking out of his trash can. The illustrations are bright, colorful and eye-catching, perfect for storytime.

Pure Fun
Although this book is recommeneded for younger children, my 5-years-old son really enjoys it. Simple and fun from beginning to end. When you think a mischievous piglet has learned his lesson, you better watch out. If you are not great at story-telling and still want to read with your child, this book is for you.

preston the pig is one perfect character
the pace is fast
the BOO!s are flying
the characters are super
will preston's dad be able to stop him from
scaring everyone in town? don't bet on it.
this one is a favorite any time of the day or night in our house.

Great fun with rhyme, alien characters and surprise ending
We checked this book out at our local libary and it has become a regular at our home. Our six-year -old has memorized the first half of the book and quotes it for us! It is written in a fun rhyming style. The illustrations are colorful and imaginative, depicting various forms of aliens, all bent on conquering Earth! Watch out though. It turns out Earth has a secret weapon that sends the aliens running back home as fast as their various body forms can take them! We hope we can buy our own copy of this book ASAP!

hellooo
(i'm spanish so is difficult to express in words my full excitement)I readed it 5 days ago, this Colin is a Genius drawing..lots of laughts with the pirates (motorist-like sometimes) modern-humour jokes as: 'censored'in a speech baloon, or the face and look of one pirate asking: 'what's a comb?(i couldn't continue for some minutes with these ones),
also i learned(costed me MUCH to 'traduce') all the geordie style & jargon(i think is geordie style, no?)to live where i am now (top of england)one of my best-favourites(if not my best)

My Favorite Book When I Was A Youngster
I had forgotten all about this book until I saw it listed here. I dug through all my old stuff in the basement, finally found it, and sat down, right there on the cold concrete floor of the basement, and read, right through. This book brought back a lot of memories. This was my favorite book when I was a youngster. Its still a fun read. Get it for yourself or your kids and you'll have fun time.

A favorite at the library
A real page-turned for the under-2 set! My 16-month-old son has liked this book for several months --- he even giggles at the pictures. I've also seen kids at the library interact well with this book.

Love it!!
We bought this book for my then ten-month-old daughter when she all she wanted to do was play "peek-a-boo." She absolutely loved it! She laughed every time Preston or Mr. Wolf said "Boo." We still read this book every day and it still makes her laugh. It's an absolutely fantastic read with wonderful illustrations.

Boo! Did I scare ya?
While there is no shortage of mind-stimulating poetry and literature for young kids these days, I still can't help but stand up and cheer for collections such as these. I think that helping kids learn the entertainment and enjoyment side of reading is so crucial at this age, and this book fills that need perfectly. McNaughton has a talent for giving you both the creeps and the giggles at the same time with his icky prose and imaginative illustrations.

Are all these Silverstein-esque poems about monster's? No, but they pretty much all appeal to the young readers sense of humor. "Call a doctor/Call the vet!/I've just been bitten/By teacher's pet!" The grossest one to read aloud would probably be "Ogre My Dead Body! (The Ogre's Song" which goes a little something like this, "An wen I needs a midnite snack,/Heer them hewmin bones go CRACK!/CRACK, CRACK, midnite snack,/Heer them hewmin bones go CRACK!" OK, this might not make the best bed-time reading. Better save it for day-light.

Poem enthusiast at age 8
I thought that the book was funny, and kind of gross. My favorite poem was "Georgie Porgie" because it was hilarious. I also like "Teacher's Pet" and "Heartless" because they were also hilarious. I would recommend this book to people who like poems, like me.

'Dracula's Tomb' is full of surprises... you can look at it over and over again, each time seeing new details that will make you laugh. It is perfect for Halloween, or for every day of the year if you love vampires like I do! Has a big pop-up drac at the back of the coffin shaped book.

Preston's Goal
Preston is a star soccer player and scores all of the goals. When he was going home from the store the wolf tried to eat him. Good adventure book with color illustrations, and reminded me of a version of the 3 Little Pigs. Reviewed by one of the the 6th graders.

Another great collection of fairy tales.
The Andrew Lang collections are well worth it. I read them when I was a child (bless that library) and when I saw them for sale I couldn't resist. The stories have retained their freshness and it is interesting to see similar themes dealt with by different cultures.

These would be great for parents reading to their children or for children looking for something interesting and fun to read.

Definitely worth it!

the most magical book
I was at the library with my father and mother when I first saw this book. I looked at all the colors and decided by pink being my favorite color. I read the whole book in gaps between 2 days and at bedtime. And I was so amazed at the mermaids, princesses, and fairies and all the wonder that a few days later I took out the orange, green, and crimson fairy book just so I could dwell in the land of fairy tales for a few more weeks! Im a young girl of fourteen, and I love fantasy stories. The Pink fairy book is my favorite because it was my first, but the whole collection are my favorites and I recomend them to boys and girls (There are plenty of stories boys would like too) and adults! (for they are just as interesting) I love art, and the pictures by H.J ford are so amazing and attractive, I stared at them for hours!

I think this is an exellent book.
I am a teacher and I read many stories from The Pink Fairy Book to my class. They were amazed that there were so many more wonderful fairy tales that they had never seen on cartoons. I recomend this to all teachers and parents to read to treir kids.
