This was the cutest book I have ever read! The author did a marvelous job at writing the story! It made me wanna keep on reading and readin! I thought this was a great book!!!!!!! The ending was really nice and I like the way the book was foreshadowing! I thought the cutest part was the love part at the end!

This was the ultimate love story!!
The novel The Brightest Light was a heartwarming book. It had its sad times like when Kitty's (main character) grandma was talking to her about how her mother died in a car accident.I love how the author kept me hanging at the end of each chapter. It made me want to read the book all at once. The author did an excellent job in describing the characters' feelings. This is a great love story. I recomend this book big time.

Live From the Fifth Grade
Let's face it...there are people in our lives that we just can't stand! Well, for Roger Friday, a fifth grader at Sacred Heart Elementary, that person is Marsha Cessano! And her feelings toward Roger are definitely the same. Their goal in life is to make each other miserable. And they're doing a great job- dead snakes in lockers, spiders in lunchboxes, and constant put-downs each and every time they come in contact with one another. It's a way of life for them... until the school printer is stolen and they must team up to find the thief. This book is hilarious! My fourth grade students and I loved it. I heard them laughing out loud on numerous occasions as we read it. Since the story is told from Roger's point of view, the reader sees the events that take place the way he sees them, which just adds to the humor. This book ranks right up there with Jerry Spinell's Fourth Grade Rats, one of my all time favorite "funny books." And if you enjoy Live From the Fifth Grade, I highly recommend its sequel Valentine's Day Can Be Murder.

A trouble maker helps solve a mystery with his worst enemy
This book was a great book. It was funny and extremely original. You'll laugh your heads off

A FUN TO READ VALENTINE'S DAY BOOK!
A vivid imagination and talent is what it would take to write a book like this. The story kept my attention to the end. The plot is not predictable, as with a number of other books. The characters are well developed with unique personalities. I finished the book in a few days. I couldn't wait to find out how Roger would get out of the mess he got himself into. I think you'll be glad you bought this book! Great book Colleen!

Do you remember Valentine's Day in fifth grade?
Valentine's Day can be murder if you're Marsha and Roger. This book would be funny to both boys and girls, because everyone has experienced the boy-girl rivalry that goes on in fifth grade. Roger Friday is a typical fifth grade class clown who immensely enjoys making the girls miserable; however, the new girl in town, Stacey Trinidad captures Roger's heart. When he tries to deliver a semi-mushy valentine to Stacey's mailbox, it falls into the hands of Roger's arch enemy Marsha Cesseono, the average "cootie-infested" fifth grade girl. What follows proves for delightful entertainment, as more mixed up valentine mishaps become the talk of the fifth grade.

Cabin Heat
I liked this book because the author really takes her time writing detail and using strong verbs. Collette Murphy, a friendly ten year old girl knows she's going to love camp. What could be better than staying in a cabin with her two best friends Marsha and Sarah? Maybe even meeting a cute boy named Tommy. But when Collette gets to camp four hours late, she is taken aback. Peally, a blond haired nasty girl does terrible things like hanging Collette and her friends underwear and Marsha's bra that she had hoped to wear all over the trees and cabin and putting a note on the door that reads "Rugrats are too little to wear bras'. So when Collette's diary disappears she knows right away who stole it. Peally! What could be worse?
Read this book to find out whether she gets her diary back. I think the author's message is about standing up for yourself when you are dealing with bullies and that if you try hard enough maybe things will turn out fine. So if you like books that are funny and surprising read Eenie, Meanie, Murphy, No!

-It expresses some of the feelings people have in 6th grade!
Collete is really excited to be back at Sacred Heart. She finally gets to be upstairs with the older kids, since she is now in sixth grade. She is really happy to be back with Sarah and Marsha, and she is also really happy to have a cute teacher named Mr.Kurtlander this year. To make things better, Mr.Kurtlander is a very good friend of Collete's parents! Collete thinks she's in heaven when Sherri Anders, a popular eighth grade girl, starts paying attention to Collete. However, this means trouble with Sarah and Marsha. This is because Sherri only pays attention to Collete, so they feel left out . They both feel that Sherri only pays attention to Collete because her family knows Mr.Kurtlander, who Sherri and the other eighth grade girls have a major crush on. Collete finds herself not really knowing who her true friends are. Sixth grade isn't turning out as good as it seemed to be!

This book is very good for fourthh graders. The things the main character does are understandable. All in all, this was a good book.

This book is very good!
In this book, Collette is convinced that she is going to have a great year! Think about it- Mrs. Johnston is an awesome teacher, she's in the same class as her best friend, and she barely does any work! But soon, her happiness fades away when her teacher breaks her leg. A mediocore story from Colleen's point of view.
Some fans of the show may like it, but to me it was a let down. It's too sappy and well.....kind of boring. She did a good job in keeping in touch with the characters, though.

Roger vs. Marsha
I really liked this book. I thought it was a good example of what third grade is like.It is the story of two third graders that are having a feud. The feud started a long time ago when Marsha thought that Roger put a dead snake in her locker, but it turned out that it was Kenny Scholtz that really did it. But since Marsha thought Roger did it she was holding a grudge. Even though Marsha doesn't like him he still has a great year. I REALLY liked Roger because he is funny. I like his personality. He has a great attitude. On a scale 1-10 I would rate it 9 and a half. I liked how the author writes about what happens in school. All of the scenes sound just like the ones at school. Ms. McKenna was a teacher so she knows what really happens in third grade. I would like to read more books by Ms. McKenna. If you want to read a good school story you should read Good Grief, Third Grade.

Good Grief Third Grade
I recommend this book because it is really good. It is about two kids who don't get along. These kids get put together for a project. Why don't you read the book and find out what happens? I enjoyed reading this book and I know you will too!

I chose this book because..........
Its great fun, humerous and its nice to read around the holidays

An 8 year old girl talks about having a large family.
In some parts I felt the author was exaggerating the ups and downs of having a large family. Since she has a four year old sister, a seven year old brother, and a two year old brother, though, I guess things can get a little out of hand.
