A freshness of language & splendor of vision.
THE CLEARING is an unforgettable story that borders on music. The characters are well drawn, the novel well written. It is about human beings whose emotional responses are more important than their rational ones. It is "Truth" based upon individual experience and imagination.

The Clearing weaves a web of sensual romance .
Mr. McBride's The Clearing weaves a web of sensual romance. His writing is sensitive and clever. Very refreshing style. I'm waiting for the Horsethief Moon to appear! Jim McBride has an usual talent.

Great New American Fiction.
A friend gave me a copy while I was travelling through Montana and told me it was the best thing she had read in years. You were right Martha. This novel reminds me of the early Fitzgerald and Hemingway writings. The characters are real, they live, they breathe and they suffer for their love. I couldn't put it down. McBride has a good deal of talent.

Over the Rainbow
We all long for that special place in our imagination to become a reality. With McBride's HORSETHIEF MOON you can get there with Cody and Karen. The code of the west meets the skullduggery of the east with beautiful imagery every step of the way. A sense of romantic triumph is felt as the two characters find their way against enormous odds to that special place over the rainbow. A great read for the young (and old) at heart!!

Healing the Aching Heart
McBride's story is simple and at the same time complex. His characters hurt, but survive. His language is beautiful. HORSETHIEF MOON is about "Chance". It is like that streetcar we all long for, but somehow never hop on to. It gives us hope. The author tells us -everything is possible - have faith.

Outstanding piece of work
This author is very talented in writing for the romantic sector of readers. He embraces sensitivity and creativity.
