The Best!
Over 200 of the most commonly encountered chief complaints in family medicine! This is the book! It's contributors are outstanding educators and clinicians from the school of medicine Harvard. Practical, no-nonsense straight to point case management -- it is like having a team of brilliant family physicians to consultant on every aspect of your daily practice. I am a PA and I think this should be on every practitioner's book shelf in family medicine.

An exelent book .I'm waiting for the next edition
It is a pleasure to find a medical book that took into consideration the practical aspects of a primary physician in his clinic.
I'd like to suggest to incorporate into the next edition more visual items (cXR, CT, MRI dermatological, etc.) as it says that one picture worth a thousand words

this is a very useful book for primary care
I'am a specialist on general internal medicine, and i work in a universitary hospital, i have responsability in education of residents in family care medicine. I think, that this boox can help in this formation because is very clear in explanations and criterials of clinicasl problems and aid to take decisssions. My suggest is in future edition, you should include some chapters about geriatric medicine.

Excellent livre!
Un ouvrage particulièrement bien travaillé, tant au niveau de la pertinence de l'explication qu'au niveau de la qualité de l'iconographie.

The best book ever written on veterinary anatomy
This was the single best purchase I made as a freshman at CSU vet school. Everyone I know at school was hot and bothered to get this book.

great book 4 Daoist enthusiasts
This book deals with the oldest copy of the Laozi (Dao De Jing) found to date (300 BCE). 33 scholars attended a conference to discuss this "new" text from around the world - most of them from China. The book deals with the details of the tomb it was found in, the methods of transcription and analysis used, examination of the text and all the various variations from other versions, the other "Confucian" texts found with it, a discussion of the Tai Yi Sheng Shui - a text attached to the Laozi - the earliest essay on the orgins of the universe, etc.

I found this book very interesting and informative, but would only recommend it to those who are as fanatical as I am! I would recommend readers to buy Robert Henrick's "Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching: A Translation of the Startling New Documents Found at Guodian", who attended the conference and makes use of the opinions of the other scholars in his translation of the text. If U like that book and want to know more about the "Guodian Laozi", then buy this book - I wasn't disappointed.

enjoy!

They shared a singular conviction to write
"How can you print a piece of your own soul," Dickinson, p. 51

This is the 2nd in the Krull and Hewitt's "Lives of ..." series. The book contains 19 chapters on 20 writers in birth order: Murasaki Shikibu (973?-1025?), Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616), William Shakespeare (1564-1616), Jane Austen (1775-1817), Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), Charles Dickens (1812-1870), Charlotte & Emily Bronte (1816-1855 & 1818-1848), Emily Dickinson (1830-1886), Louisa May Alcott (1832-1888), Mark Twain (1835-1910), Frances Hodgson Burnett (1849-1924), Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894), Jack London (1876-1916), Carl Sandburg (1878-1967), E. B. White (1899-1985), Zora Neale Hurston (1901?-1960), Langston Hughes (1902-1967), Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904-1991)

This is a perfect book for young adolescents and pre-teens who as they grow and mature frequently feel awkward. Krull introduces us to the idiosyncrasies of the literary. Some of the authors were loners, eccentric, a wee bit peculiar. Michael Jackson's behaviors might seem normal when held in comparison. Some retreated into themselves. Some sought out adventures. Some as adults were unsuccessful at the ordinary.

Some worked at a young age to support the family. Some took daily walks, very long daily walks. Some were not healthy and therefore wrote in bed. There were some similarities and some differences, but they all shared a singular conviction to write and write they each did well.

Hewitt's delightful portraits of the writers are precious. My favorite portrait is of Frances Hodgson Burnett of "The Secret Garden" fame. Her hat is the secret garden.

Given the high price of the book, I was surprised that Krull did not include a list of the authors' books and/or poems and the publication years. END

Lives of the Writers is a fun, informative book....
This book is a fun and informative book. The pictures are filled with humorous meanings and hidden information. The book keeps the reader's attention by keeping the included information short and simple, but also makes sure that the reader gets as much possible about the author. This book is great for kids and students to use as a report source as it is filled with great information. Kids would rather use this book as an information source rather than an encylopedia since the information is easy to understand. Authors in there are some you may not know, ( Murasaki Shikibu) and some well know ones ( Charles Dickens). I am glad I purchsed this book. I really liked the pictures which are so vibrant with color. This would make a great buy.

Mob Stories
Published in Paperback by Nova Science Publishers Inc (2001)
Author: Allan R. May

Obscure Mob Stories
May has compiled, not written, about a collection of the most obscure mobsters in the pantheon of mobdom. The writing is derivative, and mostly amateurish. The book is a waste of money and time.

The stories
Mr.May tell the stories we have all read about. But with details left out by others. He takes right to the place it happens. And talks about a few i hadn't heard much about before.

A *MUST HAVE* for mob watchers!
Allan May has a "gift" for bringing mafia tales to life. I've enjoyed many of his essays and have found him to be consistantly accurate and somehow able to tell even old stories in such a way that *something* new is learned. Without fail, May successfully brings all the characters to life - making it easy to understand motives and allegences, red-hot anger and humor, and even make these gangsters seem normal.

If you're new to mob stories or a veteran - get this book.

Constitutional Law: National Power and Federalism (Examples & Explanations Series)

Disappointed
Normally, I recommend Examples & Explanation series over any of the other commerical outlines out there. I was very disappointed with both Constitutional Law books however. The examples are unhelpful, especially when a lot of the answers depend on material you won't learn for several chapters! Some of the text is useful but much of it is the authors biased view of what cases mean or should mean. This isn't helpful if you are not taking the class from them!

Overall, I was extremely disappointed in these two books. Not worth the money.

Helpful, not a lifesaver
I bought this book because I found the E & E Civil Procedure book extremely helpful. This one was good, but didn't have as many concrete problems as the civ pro book did. Because I needed help drawing out doctrine (my course was policy-heavy), I would have liked more of that. However, the summaries of various issues in Con Law were clear and concise, and it did a nice job of placing various cases within the different strands of the law and explaining what they had accomplished.

Also, the book is organized very differently from how my professor taught it - if you're covering separation of powers as its own unit later in the course, you might have the same problem, because the authors put some separation of powers stuff (but not all) in the section on Justiciability. You just have to kind of skip around it, but the section headings are clear, so it should be easy to recognize when you've fallen into uncovered material.

Great buy!
Although this book doesn't cover everything my class did, it was invaluable in providing a broad overview of the subject and some insights that I hadn't focused on before. Also a lifesaver during exam time! I strongly recommend.

A Must Buy for Constitutional Law Students
This book is the best study guide for Constitutional Law that I have read. It is written in narrative form, as opposed to outline form. The explanations of cases are clear and concise and reflect the nuances of the lenthy cases in this area where single-paragraph statements in outlines cannot. More importantly, the authors are well regarded constitutional law professors whose evaluations of the cases can be trusted to be accurate as well as even-handed.
