Wonderfully challenging
I never heard of the I Spy books until my daughter dragged me to a book store. She picked up the xmas book and we sat there for an hour and only got through 3 pages. The pages are so pretty and contents challenging even to me. I loved it.

Excellent book for children from 5 to teens and adults too.
The books in this series are wonderful. My child and I spend hours hunting for the hidden items in the pictures and making up our own riddles to solve.

Fun for all ages.
This book is most remarkable for wonderful photographs filled with Christmas treasures. Traditions fill the pages in the form of antique bears, ornaments, craft & decorating mess, and cookies. The vibrant colors on some pages are contrasted with muted tones on others. And the fun of each page is to find the rhyming objects, play your own I Spy game or just rev up the Xmas spirit!

I loved this book!
Just like the entire collection of I Spy books, this one was a must-have! The entire family gathers together to find the hidden objects in each picture, and it becomes a challenge to see who can find what first!

Fun for even the youngest child with this one!
The I spy school Days is a great beginner book from this series. This doesn't mean it isn't challenging by any means but the pictures.... the wonderful photos even the youngest child can relate to. I know it sounds simple, but you will have to see for yourself it sound easier said then done but these are so much fun! It is very challenging, fun, and social, an excellent family event! There are extra credit riddles at the end of the book but it also is fun to make your own. The youngest little learner can really benefit from the photos in this book as it gets them going on letter, numbers and objects which they know or soon will! I can't rave enough about these books they totally intrigue me!

Excellent for toddlers too!
Our daughter has loved all of the I Spy books since about 20 months of age. (Before that we only gave her the board book versions). She "reads" them even more than our 4 year old who loves them too. Little ones this age enjoy sitting with an adult identifying familiar objects while learning new ones. She gets so excited trying to find all of a paticular multiple object on one page. I would give the I Spy books ten stars if I could!

A+++++++ books!

We Love this Book!
Really cool, fun book that will sometimes challenge you. Great images.

Creepy
When I tried to donate this book to a local library, the children screamed. No way were they going to give up their spooky looking book, with lots of riddle limmericks and hunt-and-find fun to keep them busy into the wee hours. Betcha can't find all the candles and cobwebs, spiders and witches' brew in this year-round Halloween gem. Alyssa A. Lappen

another hit
This book is so much fun. I am a thirty one year old collector of "children's" books and I absolutely love this series. I discovered the I Spy books in a dentist's waiting room and simply fell in love. The riddles are challenging and I Spy "Spooky Night" like I Spy "Treasure Hunt" tells a story as you go along. I really hope that the plotted I Spys are a trend for the future of the series. The photographer of this series, Walter Wick, is an absolute genius.

The baby unicorn
I read this book when i was 5 or 6 and loved it.My love of unicorns started with this book and i think its a good start for young kids.

A Good Book for young readers
I first read this book when i was about seven and in the "fantasy" stage of life. LOL. it struck me as cute when i first read it.
Star the baby unicorn presents the perfect character for a child to focus on.
on the first page it tell about Star's birth, and then goes on to tell about why the unicorns and the dragons are enimies. after, star is requiered to learn about courage so she can be the final unicorn in a spell to make the dragons friendly(it requires eight unicorns but there are only seven). i recommend the book "the cabbage moth & the shamrock" by Ethel Marbach, in addition to this book.

Unicorns Really Did Exist
First off i would just like to say that this was a book of my childhood. I grew up with this book. What some may call a fantasy, but what i have learned was reality. My favorite book by far, and i can still say that today at the age [I am now]. ANY UNICORN OR DRAGON LOVER SHOULD OWN THIS BOOK.

Great!
These are great books for distracting our pediatric patients (and parents!) during procedures/tests.

Very Good I Spy Book
Great for all ages. This set of books is very good for testing your eyes. You will have tons of fun with these books. Families love these books.

Fantasy in Every Page!
Unless your memory is photographic, you will find it challenging to find the things described in these rhyming riddles to be a brand new each time you open this. Pretty soon, the items in the puzzle all look alike. Growing a little weary of looking, you eventually call out for help, which makes these a great family time. Funny but the older the person the more frustration they seem to have. My children's grandfather still gets so amazed with these then he gives up and says " its not on there...I looked " then the three year old will spot that same object he was looking for. The I Spy Fantasy has the most unbelievable pictures. There are also extra credit riddles in the back of the book so these books never get old. My family owns each one and these are truly our favorite!

Great addition for your childs library
Wonderful book which compliments attachment parenting. Baby animal is shown nursing, no bottles to be found. Baby animal is sleeping with his mama. My son enjoys the illustrations while trying to pull it into his mouth. I purchased both this book and the Papa Papa book which is equally well done.

The best book I have EVER encountered for babies and bonding
This book is beautiful - the words and rhythym are so peaceful and loving and the pictures are soothing and life-like. This book embraces the delicate and eternal bond between baby and mom. I know this sounds like an awful lot for a [price] board book, but believe me, it is amazing.

The Best
I received this book (and the Papa, Papa book) as a gift when my daughter was born. I read the books to her almost every day. The poem is absolutely delightful! Especially the last part -- I almost cry every time I read it (and I'm not generally sappy).
Buy it!

hours of fun
Like all of the I spy books, this one offers hours and hours of fun for all ages. Some of the things to be found took days to find, which can be a bit frustrating for some people.

The best trip companion for a little kid
This book is as exciting for kids as it is for parents. I bought our first I Spy book for a long (17 hrs) plane flight with my 3.5 year old and it really did the job of entertaining him enough. Without it the trip could have been a nightmare. I recommend it to anyone who needs to keep a child entertained and occupied for a longer period of time.

Each page is a picture if multiple little objects. Under the picture there are several riddles, and kids can spend quite a lot of time looking for the objects. But parents can make addititional riddles--so many objects are hidden or not obvious. And they can have fun too.

The artwork is beautiful and sharp. While older kids can learn to be more observant, younger ones can enhance their vocabulary by learning the name of the objects (with an adult's help , of course).

Terrific book, challenging for all ages
We have a 2-1/2 yr old daughter who absolutely LOVES the "I Spy" book series. This book is much more involved and difficult than the smaller board books designed for little ones. However, she got the idea of searching for things from the easier board books and soon got bored (pardon the pun). Using this larger version, we can make up lots of games to keep it interesting. Now, she asks us "I spy a ___" and we have to find it. Hard to do with only a few pictures on each page.

We have a lot of fun with it too - and haven't found some of the things after several months! Bottom line: Great book - start with the board books for younger ones and move up to this. make up your own games to challenge them. Enjoy

One Of My Favorites
My aunt bought me this book for Christmas when I was about three or four, back in the late 70's when it was new. I loved it. It was my favorite book. My mom used to read it to me over and over again. I still have it, even though saddly the original cover is no longer with it. And I will never get rid of it. To this day I still every once in a while pull it off the shelf and read it, remembering those nights long ago when my mom was reading it to me. This is a great book, and if you can find a copy of it somewhere, I would highly recomend picking it up.

A book I loved to death
This was my favorite book when I was little. My father read it to me over and over again until I had it memorized! The repetition is wonderful for young readers; even if your children can't read, Jeffers' illustrations are enough to make anyone a little sleepier. I still dream of ending up in the treehouse at the end of the book. It's a pity Close Your Eyes is no longer in print.

My All-Time Favorite Bedtime Book
Over the years of reading books to my children, Close Your Eyes became both my favorite and my daughter's. The lyrical story is told on two levels, perfectly complimented by the illustrations. As a father, I identify with the dad in the story. My daughter is in college now, but we occasionally recite the story to eachother in our correspondence, and still treasure the countless bedtimes that we read this book together. It is, indeed, the perfect gift for new parents.

One of our favorites!
We bought this book when our daughter was a newborn and she's always loved it! Now that she's two, she still gets a kick out of reading it! However, I recommend that you not buy this item online because there's a mirror on the last page and some copies of the book have a blurry mirror! You're better off buying it in a store to make sure that the book isn't defective!

Do You Know New?
This is my baby's favorite book. We started reading this to her when she was just a few weeks old and the text has a great rhythm, which she loves. At 10 months now, she picks that book out and loves to flip through it. It's a durable book, has been with us everywhere, and is a good size and light weight that it's perfect for little hands.

The illustrations are great - not the blinding primary colors you often see in some baby books.

my baby's first favorite book
Excellent! I got this as a recommendation from another mom who's baby liked this book best out of all his books. My baby developed an interest in this book before all others.

why the ghost??
This is a terrific book, great illustrations and rhyming text, perfect for a 2-3 year old. My only objection is the verse about the ghost ("every ghost loves a BOO") with the not so friendly looking ghosts hovering around the gravestones. I think this is a difficult scene to explain to kids who haven't really experienced Halloween. In what other context could you explain this to a young child? I may be overly sensitive to this issue because of a death in our day care family, but I think I'll be more comfortable reading this book to my preschoolers after I glue the "ghost and BOO" pages together so that I can skip them entirely.

a wonderful book!
My two-year-old son loves this book and could read it himself the second time through. He loves to be able to say "I read it!" and the content is great as well. The ghosts do not bother him at all because he hs not been taught that ghosts are supposed to be scary.

Great book for small children!
We received this book as a gift, and I just bought another copy to give my niece. I would recommend it to anyone with small children. It's a cute and catchy rhyme with appealing illustrations. As an added bonus, my 4-yr-old likes to "read" it to his little brother!
