Diary of a Superfluous Band

A mother's prayer...........
I hope to heaven that there was a great deal of poetic license taken in telling this story. It would be too painful to read if all was true. In fact, I have been afraid to finish it. I am happy to say, that she is healthy and happy now regardless of any perceived past. Also, she is in process of writing a sequel about Molly's recovery. I look forward to its completion.

All Too Real
This book is disgustingly realistic in it's portrayal of the drunken Punk Rock underworld, Ms. Martin's life, and and what is surely the L.A. band Popdefect. The scary part is that most or all of it probably really happened. Yikes!!

The Eating Well Cookbook: Favorite Recipes from Eating Well, the Magazine of Food & Health

Eat Well from Eating Well
This is one of the best cookbooks I've ever used. I never realized before that you could cook gourmet food that was low in calories and actually tasted good. I can't believe this book is out of print. I have cooked nearly everything in it and was anxious to give it to some of my friends. I keep hoping there is a chance that they will have a new printing.

Delicious Low-Fat Recipes
Eating Well Magazine was a one-of-a-kind: Full of delicious recipes and nutritional articles that were up-to-date and valuable. Now that the magazine is no longer in existence, the Eating Well cookbooks are essential volumes of the collected recipes. Having been a subscriber for seven years, I can honestly say that I have never cooked something from Eating Well that wasn't delicious and low-fat. The recipes vary in their ease (this is not a cooking made simple book) but not in their quality. This book presents dishes from all categories of cooking, from salads and soups to meat and poulty, pasta, sauces, desserts, etc. When I am looking for a new recipe, this book (and the New Eating Well book that is the companion volume) is the first off of the shelf and I often don't have to look further. I highly recommend it.

Religions of the World
It is the most concise material I have found on the subject. While in school I used it for a reference book when writing papers, now I read through it when I am unsure about a religious practice. It clarifies any questions you might have on any given (major) religion.

Gorgeous illustrations, easy to understand text
This book is really beautiful! It helps the student and the teacher to explore the great wisdom traditions of the world. The illustrations are plentiful and lovely, the text easy to comprehend. A great book!

Leonardo Da Vinci: The Anatomy of Man: Drawings from the Collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Published in Hardcover by Bulfinch Press (1992)
Authors: Martin Clayton, Ron Philo, Windsor Castle, and Leonardo
Amazon base price: $40.00
Average review score:

A book to be contemplated
Da Vinci's anatomical drawing is not simply scientific record. It is a great man's comtemplation on humanity through the very basics of physical form. To back up this kind of inquiry, you need a god to in your soul or you have to be the god youself. Without this spiritual aspect, scientific research would turn into something crudely utilitarian or cruelly inhumane as we all have noticed in so many cases in the modern world.

Da Vince is not some mad scientist who messed up with corpses secretly as in a Frenkenstein movie. But do we ever noticed their difference in this country, the supposed most advance country in technology and science? This book would make you think.
