From the Heart of Racing
INCREDIBLE! As a relatively new fan to NASCAR I feel like I have been brought up to speed! This book is a must buy. I love the stories. They made me laugh and get a little choked up at times. It's a very easy read and the cd that comes with it is amazing. Dale Jr.'s tribute to his dad is incredible and the Petty's are amazing. I want more!

you have to read this book!
This book is great and the CD on the Petty's is just awesome. It will make you cry all the way through it. I loved it and would recommend it to all. God Bless the Petty family and Adam.

A true look at NASCAR
This is an excellent book, with stories from various drivers, fans, writers, and other motorsports personalities! Many will make you think, laugh, or even cry. Inspiring images of faith along with a true look at the NASCAR personalities you thought you knew, make this a must-buy!

Two volumes!
The proceedings really have 1876 pages, but they are divided into two volumes. The first volume has 944 pages, the remaining pages are in the second volume. Make sure you get the two volumes!

magnificent and fascinating
"The 1999 Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO-99) combines the longest running conference in evolutionary computation (ICGA) and the world's two largest EC conferences (GP and ICGA) to create a unique opportunity to bring together the best in research in the growing field of genetic and evolutionary computation (GEC).

"The GECCO conference continues the tradition of the GP and ICGA conferences of bringing together researchers from the entire spectrum of research in evolutionary computation, including genetic algorithms, classifier systems, genetic programming, evolvable hardware, DNA and molecular computing, evolutionary strategies, evolutionary programming, artificial life, adaptive behavior, agents, as well as real-world applications of all of these areas." - from the publisher.

The relentless high quality of the many papers in this book make it delightful and thought-provoking. (My copy is 944 pages - not "1876" as Amozon has it.)

Soames Triumphant
I rejoice to see this definitive work celebrating the small, choice output of the Catholic diabolist and neglected genius, Enoch Soames. I was among the nervous crowd who met Soames at the British Museum (now British Library) on June 3, 1997, a memorable day in my life and his. The authors of the present bibliography have scrupled to identify and describe the many works devoted to Soames' life, thought, and creative spirit. They have achieved their goal triumphantly. Even from the vantage of his present niche, Soames, I fancy, will know he does not suffer the neglect in public esteem that he had feared. As Soames' so cannily had prophesied in FUNGOID's Nocturne, he now at last might truly drink of "black wine" and move "Round and round the shutter'd Square" to no sound but hoof scrape and the "ring of laughter."

Helpful commentary with thorough ideas
I bought this entire New Testament series commentary to help me in teaching an adult Sunday School class. I'm glad I did! All of the books include a verse-by-verse description that is very helpful. A teaching outline is included for each chapter, along with discussion questions and an area with a more deeper discussion of certain topics important to that chapter.

As a new teacher, I have found this series invaluable in preparing my lessons. I think you'll like this one.

Comprises both Causey's diary and memoir
Max Causey was a 35 year old administrative engineer when he was drafted into the jury that was to determine the legal fate of Jack Ruby for his murder of Lee Harvey Oswald, who was alleged to have been the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. Causey made the jury foreman and during the course of the trial kept a diary written in long-hand on a reporter's notebook. The diary begins with the second day of his jury duty and is filled with notes taken day-by-day as the trial continued, ending on Saturday, Mary 14, when the jury delivered its verdict. Causey then wrote a short epilogue. Later, he wrote a memoir based on that diary. Ably edited by John Dempsey, assistant professor of Journalism at the University of North Texas, The Jack Ruby Trial Revisited comprises both Causey's diary and memoir, augmented with editor's notes taken from the trial transcripts, books, newspaper and magazine articles and interviews with other surviving members of the jury. The Jack Ruby Trial Revisited is highly recommended reading for students of the JKF assassination controversy and the American criminal justice system.

Just a reference
This book covers almost every aspect of 3D Studio MAX R2, in great detail. actually in too great detail. The author describe every function that probably exist in the program, page after page, and that is very hard to read. And there are not many examples or excercises. I recommend this book if want a big reference to 3D Studio MAX R2.

Somewhat difficult to read.
As a beginner using 3D Studio Max, I did not like this book. The way the book was set up made it difficult for me to read. Examples/ tutorials would be thrown (in little boxes) into the middle of paragraphs giving explanations. I know 3D Studio Max is a complex program to learn, but this book gives so much information at once that it's overwhelming. I think I am just going to stick to a good old fashioned class teaching me 3D Studio Max rather than learn it using books. If you can, as much as possible try to buy the training videos for 3D S.M. They're , but you will get much better results with your work and you will understand the program much better.

Note: 3D Studio Max is supposedly the industry standard, but most of the industry uses Maya or Lightwave. Try to learn those if you can.

Tough read but worth it, only if your serious though!
Teaches you every single feature in max(with the exception of the lenzFXmodule) This book will make you a master of max! The only fault is that the author is very long whinded, and made this book longer than it had to be. But still the information is indespensible. And I have to say that for learning the all the features of the program.

Candle Sparks: Adventures and Trials in an Eccentric Alaska Bush Town

Fictional uninformed account of remote Alaskan town.
The title and description of this book suggests that it is about the real remote Alaskan town of Candle. It is not. There is no relationship at all to any real events, and the controversy presented over saving the habitate of ice-spiders from the ravages of snowmobilers is as lame as the characters presented. Pass this one by!

entertaining tall-tale written in the true spirit of...
an insane alaskan bush-woman! i love this book and it is based upon Lilly's experiences in McCarthy and Kennicott, Alaska. Every word rings true and is filled with wit and humor. Definately worth the read. If you can't imagine it, then you won't travel with her. If you don't understand it, then you just haven't been there.

Adding Cross to Crown: The Political Significance of Christ's Passion

Excellent structure and reading.
Adding Cross to Crown is a welcome evaluation of the political machinations around the man we know as Jesus. A more comprehensive though challenging book would be the wonderful "The Autobiography of Jesus of Nazareth and the Missing Years" by Richard G. Patton. In "The Autobiography..." the political scene is central, rather an incidental, to the human personality and extensive training of Jesus. He is portrayed in terms that would be real enough for "Larry King Live". 'Adding Cross to Crown' addresses a different audience, but still unfortunately presents the 'Icon' of Christianity. Having said this, I immensly enjoyed this offering by Mark Knoll et al. and look forward to their next publication.
