A moving book about the lifes of Jackie and Sunnie Mann. Jackie was taken hostage in Beirut for two and half years. The story recalls his time there and the time he spend as a Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot. Sunnie not knowing if Jackie was alive or dead, stays in Beirut with her beloved dog, who also gets taken from her. A remarkable book which should be read by all.

Hospice : A Photographic Inquiry
A book about a place where people go to die will not by definition be a easy book to pick up and glance through. The photographers, Nan Goldin et al, do a remarkable job bring these people to us in a situation none of us would want ot be in. There is compassion and dignity in situations which can all too often lend themselves to the snap and run mentality of today's press coverage. It is worth buying especailly if you have an interest in quality, non-sensational photography.
hard to view
i'll admit its hard to look at but the way you get right there in it, is amazing, it's just photographed beautifully. Each photographers style was evident. I especially enjoyed Jack Radcliffes section because his more than any other, i felt was about life under harsh circumstances, but still about life more than death itself.

This novel was originally published in 1938, and as the full title of the book is "Grey Shapes: A Novel of Lycanthropy," the reader is aware from the beginning that werewolves are involved in the mystery. Knowing that much, the story does feel somewhat predictable, but it still keeps you guessing until the very end. The characters are wry and authentic, and though it is not written in the same style as today's thrillers, the novel is as gripping and engrossing as any modern blockbuster. GREY SHAPES is colorful, exciting, and great fun for any reader who enjoys mysteries with a paranormal twist.
