Not a book to get riled over ladies
Ok, so the guy is a pig. He was doing things for the wrong reasons, and paid for it.

If you can get over the pig factor, it is a good book. It even has a moral to the story. I personally found his honesty refreshing.

I think that one of the reviews here that slamms the book - well, was written by someone who never read the book. Talking about not being happy with American women, etc. The guy is from up north, not America. If you had read the book, it couldn't have been missed.

Any woman that takes this book as a personal insult should take a breath, look at it a little differently.

If you are man looking for a Philippino bride - this is a must read - but don't expect a happy ending.

A Must Read for All Men Corresponding With Filipinas
Dr. Makow's book begins with a description of what one man, a normal, heterosexual man, wants in a normal, heterosexual woman. He carefully and accurately describes the basic "trade" between men and women. This is basic stuff--we, men and women alike, were born with it. No cultural divide, nor the destructive works of anyone, can snuff this out. It is God created.

The book tells of the story of a starved, disgusted, war-scarred man in search of love in the Philippines, and his courtship, marriage to, and eventual, divorce from a young Filipina. Very interesting and a "must have" guide to anyone contemplating a relationship with a Filipina.

Dr. Makow justifiably ends his book by writing of social and political forces in the Americas which actually prevent, rather than promote, natural heterosexual progression, harmony and forward movement.

All of you guys out there better read this one! It is superb.

True story of Filipina Courtship by a NothAmerican gentleman
Henry's book describes in great detail his own relationship with a Filipina named Cecilia on the island of Mindanao. Having met her through a Canadian pen-pal club, simular to my FilipinaCupid site, Henry embarked upon a journey which many of you may soon experience yourself.

A journey that starts with a few letters exchanged across the Pacific, which in turn leads to a flight to the Philippines to meet a pen-pal and her family, and then blossoms into love & marriage. He also reveals much intimate moments from overcoming Filipina shyness, to dealing with Filipino fathers & family members, to first intimacy, to their misunderstandings, exciting marriage, and even reveals details of what is sometimes a challenging "settling in" period of adjustment when wife is finally in his country. Henry does much wrong in his courtship and these are important lessons to know. The book makes you aware of possible hidden agendas and how a woman can be manipulated by family. Also, you see how laws and emotional problems can undermine to be efforts.

[...] Before you go to ANY Asian country seeking romance you should read this valuable, unique, and well written book.

Blessings on "your" search for true love. Jean
