A wickedly humorous comedy novel
A finalist for the 1997 Small Press Book Award, Hearts Of Gold by James Magorian is an adroitly written, wickedly humorous, comedy novel about a lost gold mine, a posse of monks with guns, a turkey that brings destruction wherever it walks, calamitous conflict, promises of love, and a deadly poison. Exploiting human greed on a mass quest for gold (that may or may not exist), Hearts Of Gold is enthusiastically recommended as an adventurous laugh-fest with a Western-ish bent.

The Bohemeth
This is a 974 page compilation of James Magorian's poetry up to 1987. A riotous tour de force. If you can get ahold of a copy (and believe me it is hard) you'll be happy.

A Kid's First Book of Losing Older Sibling
I found this book at the Pre-school I work at. It was an interesting story about a boy losing his older sibling who started kindegarten. So he has to go about his daily life without his older sibling to help him. I was shocked when I read the authors name. I loved Not a Swan and had to snag this book from work and keep it for my very own. This is truly a good book to read to a child whose older brother or sister is going to kindegarten and they get left behind. My younger sister read the book and said she remembers feeling the same way when I left her for my fancy life at Kindegarten. Anyways, a nice book, good pictures and a must have for all Michelle Magorian fans.

Judicious positioning during the Festival of the Rejuvenation of the Second Restoration (When Wellington Surrendered to Lee Near Marvin Gardens)will help balance the negative outlook of any Custerphobe. Or not.
Keep book aimed toward Fort Abraham Lincoln at all times. This will discourage peanuts and turpentine.
