Excellent!
Excellent book by a excellent author! clear and concise....

Superb Summary of the Reformed Faith
This is the best summary of the Reformed Christian faith that any student of divinity can get hold of. It should be required reading for every pastor.

A Faith to Live By is a short systematic theology, particularly attractive for the christian layman or laywoman. It covers the doctrines of God, Man, Sin, Salvation, Christian Discipleship and the Second Coming.

Professor Macleod is the master of his subject. He is consistently lucid, succint and pastoral. Like all truly learned man, he admits uncertainty, but maintains tolerance of opposing views, where the Bible is silent.

This book is unadulterated reformed theology at its Scottish best. It makes none of the compromises that modern American presbyterianism tends to make vis a vis the Westminster Confession of Faith.

In every sense, a superb book and highly recommended. Having read it through twice, I envy those who must be studying under Macleod.

An extensive overview of Christological issues
This work is an extensive overview of christological issues and positions in the modern church while providing historical understandings, formulations and heresies. Donald Macleod then provides an evangelical response or critique to those positions that are not compatable with mainstream evangelical thought and argues for those positions that are associated with evangelicalism. Macleod takes opposing positions seriously and accurately portrays their concerns and central tenets. He is also willing to face the harshest critiques of his own positions. He answers those crituques when he can and acknoldeges the roles of presuppositions in every party's arguments. A very good introduction to the issues that in his own words is "but the mere beginning of a pilgrimage."

The Trinity at its Best
This is the best book on the Trinity that I've seen. It is not just sound doctrine, it is overwhelmingly pastoral.

Professor Macleod teaches the doctrine of the trinity so simply and so powerfully that the reader cannot but be stirred.

A small, little book. But it is a goldmine!
