"Bookplay"--this mom's dream resource
"Bookplay" is a terrific resource for anyone with (or teaching) preschoolers. The author has provided detailed outlines of 101 "creative themes", in groupings such as "Around town", "Families together", and "Winter". These outlines include appropriate books, related craft projects, songs, and follow-up activities. The book includes an appendix of songs, with words and music; it also has a 33-page bibliography of the books and recordings within the text, for easy reference. I LOVE this book--it is so user-friendly, and for this at-home-mom who practiced as a pediatric OT, the level of books and projects and songs is right-on in terms of preschoolers' development. It's great for homeschoolers, and parents looking to enrich their pre-schoolers' lives and suuplement nursery curriculums. Ms. MacDonald's one of my new heroes!

super
Our kids loved this book! It is filled with catchy and simple phrases which our kids could not help but repeat throughout the day. The theme is quite humorous, making this story very enjoyable to read again and again. As well, it conveys a good moral about greed!

Absolutely hysterical
This book is a riot. There are 9 authors from all over the world who write 5 pieces each. I don't think I have ever laughed so much in my entire life. It's wacky, witty, smutty, weird but most of all funny. I highly recommend this publication.

When it says FAMILY, it means FAMILY!
I had hoped to be able to put my family history - that is to say, my mother, father, grandfathers, grandmothers, maybe even my brothers and their respective familes in this book. But I find they mean FAMILY - as in husband/wife and his/her genealogy, back to Adam/Eve if possible, it seems. This book is not for a beginner who does not have a sharp Exacto blade to take out the pages he/she does not want or need. A book with the graphs built into it, letting you do the labeling and assorting would've been better - at least it wouldn't assume a 1950s family....

Thorough for recording geneology in one place, has faults
This is a fill-in-the-blank style book with room to include a husband's and wifes ancestors and children as well as other relevant information. However, in places it seems to include too much room for some things.....like a full page of lines for 'legal guardians' while only one line(quite small) for children of the husband or wife and thier siblings. Since that page is next to the 'legal guardians' page I was at least able to make use of it for the run off of listing children of those with more than two kids.

It is a convenient book to take along to family gatherings to record information and fill in the blanks. I think this is a good book to start recording family history and geneology, but I would prefer another book for a completed book. In the meantime, I don't mind a few scratch-outs of mistakes in this one.

The Illustrations are early american/civil war era style. Under the "Religious Acticities" section it shows a catholic baptism of a baby and a cathedral. So, if you're not christian it doesn't really apply.

A truely magnificent book
This book is absoultely amazing! This is a very smart idea for a book and whoever thought of it, I give praise. Finally a book to record EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know about your family in one place!
