This is a quality legal thriller. As an elder law attorney I am gratified by the intelligence with which the author handles the legal and ethical complexities of assisted suicide. The courtroom scenes are absolutely riveting.

There is a colorful cast of characters, from the tender, passionate nurse Joey to her loutish dying patient, along with a host of intriguing women in Joey's life. It is a tribute to the author's skill that all of them have a claim on our sympathies.

This is a sleeper. Starting out slowly and rather quietly, this novel builds into one of the most exciting pieces of fiction I have read in years! The writing is superb, the characters well-developed, and the action builds so effectively that by Chapter 5 you are lost in the story -- don't even think of putting down this book until the conclusion! Women will identify with the situations, but even the men will enjoy the lovely prose style and the mystery created by this author. Go get it!
