Lovely book, lovely story
We've owned this book since my oldest daughter (who is now 12) was a toddler. It continues to be a family favorite, especially for reading aloud. It's one of the few stories that my 2 year old will listen to all the way through, he especially loves the echo element. This is a lovely story with lovely illustrations and I highly recommend it!

Review for Little Beaver and the Echo
I really enjoyed the story "Little Beaver and the Echo." The story had a very cool and creative story line that made it interesting and fun. The pictures were also really neat. They were very detailed and colorful. The story is about a young beaver who is search for someone accross the lake ,that ends up being his echo. On the way he pickes up a variety of friends. For example, he finds a duck, an otter, and a turtle. This book , in my opinion, was excellent. I highly suggest this to you.

Classic book on friendship -- with cute pictures!
This heart-touching picture book about a beaver's search for a friend isn't just for kids (although my nieces and nephews love it, too!). The story-line is clear and the full-color illustrations are EXCELLENT. Readers will have fun catching little details in the pictures.

Old macdonald
My 20 month old daughter will not put this book down. She wants "e-i-e-i-o" nonstop. The book shows a family that works together and spends pleasant times together. It also shows a baby in bed with its parents and animals nursing, which we enjoyed. Each page has the featured animals doing many things that give the child and parent a lot to discuss. Fantastic!

A Rare Book
This is a rare picture book, funny and intelligent in an old fashioned way. My 8 year old can't get enough of it. the pictures are perfect and the rhymes are, too. It's a great book, especially for kids with a naughty streak. And what kid doesn't have a naughty streak(or at least a naughty urge, like Quentin III)?? I highly recommend it.

Excellent Survey of the greatest figurative sculptor alive
Great book for collectors, art enthusiasts, and aspiring sculptors and artists. Book highlights MacDonald's important works... Highly recommended

A must have for any fan of Richard MacDonald's sculpture!
A high quality binding and beautiful images make this a wonderful book for a gift or for your own library. It really shows all aspects of his career. Highly recommended!

Beautifully done, quality book--
This book is beautifully done with quality photos, showcasing some of my favorite (if I must choose favorites!) Richard MacDonald works. This book allows me to revisit the beauty that Richard MacDonald creates as often as I like, when I can't make it into one of his galleries. Although it doesn't give me the same level of joy I get from viewing his artwork in person, it certainly comes close!

Funny, right-on observations about life in fifth grade
Simon is the brightest kid in a fifth grade class that's so full of losers the teacher, Mrs. Biggs, takes early retirement and is never heard from again. When Simon sees who the new teacher is, he is mortified -- it's his 74-year-old Aunt Mattie, who greets the students, "How does your corporosity seem to gashiate today?" Well, naturally, after this inauspicious beginning, the students learn to love Aunt Mattie, and naturally she inspires these losers to new heights including a memorable entry in the science fair. What makes this book so much better than most are the fun characterizations and the right-on observations about fifth grade. This is exceptionally well-written and rockets along at a great pace. My 11-year-old maniac reader who usually favors Philip Pullman and Eva Ibbotson just loved it.

If I could give it six stars, I would!
NO MORE NASTY is just as funny and warm as its predecessor, NO MORE NICE. Aunt Mattie is a marvelous creation, the aunt we all wish we could have grown up with. I hope we'll see more from this generous writer. This book will make a perfect gift for the child (or aunt) in your life who loves to laugh and appreciates good writing.

I would recomend this book for people who like poetry. But for me poetry just isn't my type of writing. This book was a little too long for me. What I mean is that it is sort of a rhyming tounge twister.

delightful, lyrical silliness
The text and illustrations are both great, and it holds my 8 month old daughter's attention despite its length. It will be even more fun to read to her as she gets older and can find Rachel's cat on each page, laugh at the silly blister remedies, and eventually read the great rhymes along with me.

I know I'll have this terrific book memorized soon, and won't mind endless repetitions over the years.

A Wrap Your Tongue Around It Ton Of Imagination Kind Of Book
Oh what a true delight it is to read this book! It has to be one of my favorites. It never fails to delight both the reader and the listener. Chaos, calamity, consideration and correction. This book is pure fun! Thank you Amy MacDonald!

Good idea, but...
I thought this would be a lot more fun to read. Certainly the great-aunt and great-uncle are fun characters, and the idea is good. But the ending is contrived and can be seen coming from the very first few pages. I found much of the humor forced. But then, I'm not ten years old, and perhaps I'm thinking from too adult a point of view. However, I've certainly enjoyed and laughed at many other children's books, so I think that can't be the only reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

Brian Cheers for No More Nice
This book was very facinating to me. I liked how the lamas were named Mr. Crude, Mr. Rude and Mr. Ugly. I think everybody should have a chance to read books by Amy MacDonald, especially No More Nice. Maybe some of us should have unlessons it may help! Ms. MacDonald has my vote for the 2001 Nutmeg Award.

not as good as their first book
I probably would have liked this book much more if I didn't already own "Rachel Fister's Blister", which is excellent. "Cousin Ruth's Tooth" is cute and zippy, with cats which my 1 year old daughter likes, and funny details which adults will appreciate. But if you can only buy one book by these authors, get "Rachel Fister's Blister" instead - it is fabulous.
