Read It In Two Days!
I met Merline when she was the Base Commander at Eglin AFB, FL. She's a wonderful lady, warm, friendly and humorous! I've read other books she has written, but this was the best! I couldn't put it down until I had finished it! Now I can't wait for the sequel!

Wild, Wyoming plains is the backdrop...........
.....for the setting of romance between Fort Laramies Major Andrew Garrett and New Orleans belle, Julia Bonneaux. Author Merline Lovelace uses the written word to draw a beautiful picture of this compeling saga in all its primative glory. I have not read a book with a western theme that I've so thoroughly enjoyed in many years. In fact, this is the first story I've read by Ms. Lovelace, thanks to a friend loaning it to me. Now that I'm a fan, I'll definitely be on the lookout for all the other books she's had published. Loved the history she wove in through out the book about the Dakota Territory, and the special attention to detail in the treatment of the Sioux Indians during this period. This is a book I'll want to hold on to for a second read!

Outstanding drama & romance
This is an unforgettable story featuring the most wrenching romantic conflict of all--"Lost love found" The incomparable Merline Lovelace writes with authority about the US Army & the Old West. Don't miss this one!

ATTENTION GETTER - 2ND OF 3 PARTS!
"Cover Me" is the 2nd of 3 parts of a great story!
Marshal Spence Cantrell is working with FBI Agent Mason Taggart to bring about the release of the hostages taken in the hi-jacking of the U.S. Marshals' Flight 407 by Carl Hart.

Carl Hart is being talked into giving up hostages for each and every demand he makes to get Flight 407 under way. He is willing to give up more hostages in exchange for his ex-wife, Kelly Jackson. Kelly is terrified of Carl.

Spence Cantrell promises Kelly that she will not have to face Carl alone. Can he keep that promise? Agent Taggart has his own agenda and it doesn't include losing any hostages.

Wouldn't you just like to know the real reason Carl desperately needs Kelly? Kelly was shocked to find out the reason. Cantrell was not about to lose Kelly, not after she thawed out his frozen heart.

Wow! passion and action, you can't beat it. These 3 authors stories flow into each other to make a complete book without losing touch with the characters. This is a really great accomplishment that produces a great story and holds you enthralled to the end -- Highly Recommended with a triple --M.

WOW! THE BEGINNING OF A GREAT 3 PARTER!
"Midnight Seduction" is the first part of a great 3 part story.
Here is Christine Logan, just 2 days on the job, as Airport Director of the Sam Houston International Airport, Texas where she will have to meet up with Quinn Buchanan, the cop who left her 3 years ago.

Quinn Buchanan had to walk away from Christine amid an overwhelming sense of guilt and grief - only now to find out that his love for her is as strong as ever.

These two wounded souls must make a powerful effort to put the past behind them and try to get the Airport operational after being hit by a tornado. Destruction is everywhere.

Now a hi-jacking crisis was added to the mix -- FBI Agent Mason Taggart is working with Marshal Spence Contrell to secure the release of the 108 hostages on board Flight 407, taken over by Carl Hart.

It is up to Captain Quinn Buchanan. as chief of police security for the Airport, to find out who smuggled a gun on board the "flying prison". And at the last minute to save Christine.

This one you won't want to put down. Reminds you of some of the good movies. Highly Recommended with triple --M -- these gals did an excellent job of story telling.

WHOAAA! TALK ABOUT A GREAT STORY
This is the kind movies are made of.
M. Lovelace offers the third and tie-in story to this high-jacking of the U.S. Marshals' Flight 407.
With a daring midair transfer [done only in movies according to Lt. Col. "Howie" Howard], Suzanne Delachek proposed to bring down the crippled 727 in the Florida Everglades.

With the pilot dead and the co-pilot having a heart attack the only person that could take contol of the 727 was the convict, Ryder Hamilton, whose only qualifications were flying bug smashers. He was being helped by wounded Marshall Spence Cantrell, the first one to recognize an inherant goodness in this convict.

Find out how Ryder gets the help needed to clear himself. And how 3 couples find their life partners.

Highly Recommended 3 part story - except for all the uncommited sex - the stories tied in beautifully and involved you in their characters trials and tribulations and left you anxious to find out how it all ends. Did any one ever get pregnant? What a waste if not. triple --M

This story gets a 10
The story should have six stars. A gripping read. Each characters could hold his or her own story. Fantastic! It holds you and keeps you. Fasten your seat belts, you are in for emotional ride.

Terrific story. Terrific writing.
Merline Lovelace writes a fast paced exciting story. Duty And Dishonor gripped my interest on the first paragraph of the first page and it never lagged through to the last word on the last page. I couldn't put the book down until I finished. Her splendid flash backs continually enhanced the story. Nora Roberts said it perfectly "sizzles with excitement." Pat Gasko

It drags you in and holds you there
This book is like tangly things at the bottom of a pond. You look at the surface and see a nice little mystery with a dash of romance. Something you can set down when lunch hour is over, or it's time to go pick up the kids. Ha! Merline Lovelace will not let you come up for air. First she hooks you with the mystery--a 20-year-old skeleton is discovered in Vietnam. Suddenly, the heroine's distinguished Air Force career that seemed to be going nowhere but up has crashed and burned, because they're accusing her of the murder. And once Merline's got her hooks in you, she's not about to let go. I wanted to put this book down. I didn't want to like it, because as memories of the murdered man and of Vietnam re-surface, they are not comfortable. But I could not stop reading it. If that's not a compelling read, I don't know what is. It is satisfying from beginning to end. Wowie, zowie.

Beautiful medieval romance. Couldn't put it down.
Lord Ian de Burgh has come to court to extricate his younger brother from 'the siren' rumored to be Prince John's mistress--Lady Madeline de Courcey. Twice wed & widowed, Maddy was raised with the Plantagenets as a royal ward, & is skilled in the arts of courtly love. Upon their first encounter, Ian is surprised to find she isn't even pretty but rather holds men enthralled with her lively wit & practiced charm. Sparks fly whenever they clash, as Ian finds himself alternately lusting after her or despising her for her rumored 'loose morals'. The excitement begins when she taunts him too far...& he retailates by taking her for ransom...

This is one of Ms. Lovelace's best works! It has all the best elements I love in a story: a fierce yet gentle warrior, a strong-willed lady, & a great love full of passion & chemistry. The lively pace & witty repartee kept me glued to the pages. Definitely a keeper!

SMASHING ROMANCE !!!!!
MY 1st TASTE OF MERLINE LOVELACE NOVEL & IT WAS TRULY AN IMPRESSIVE & HARD-TO-PUT-DOWN HISTORICAL BOOK. LOVED EVERY ASPECT OF THE STORY EXCEPT THE DISAPPOINTING ENDING (TOO ABRUPT): THE GRIM, RELUCTANT, HARD-HEADED HERO, THE ENCHANTING HEROINE WITH A SPICY MOUTH, THE STEAMY LOVE SCENES ETC ETC. IF ONLY THE AUTHOR'D GIVEN A MORE SATISFYING EPILOGUE..... IT'D HAVE BEEN A PERFECT NOVEL. I'M STARTING 2 COLLECT HER EVERY TITLE OUT THERE NOW. I'VE READ READERS' RAVE REVIEWS FOR HER CONTEMPORARY / MILITARY ROMANCE & JUST CAN'T WAIT TO READ 'EM ALL. A FEAST FOR THE SENSES !!!

A thrilling novel!
The Princess of the Brigantium tribe and the mother to the child King of the Lopocares, Alena is constantly reminded of her rank among her people and the hatred they hold against the Roman conquerers of their land. Queen Cartimandua, leader of the Brigantium, holds no love for her daughter and instead uses her as a pawn in her own political ambitions. Through her mother's alliance with Rome, Alena is thrown into the care of the handsome and strong, yet rude and disrespectful Roman Prefect of the VII Legion, Marcus Valerius, until Cartimandua can find a suiable husband for her. Alena's headstrong, defiant attitude is no match against the pompous, arrogant Prefect. What will pass between these two polar opposites? Will Alena ever find peace in her life? Or love?

Intrigue, adventure and romance
This is a compilation of two Silhouette Intimate Moments "Code Name: Danger" books, Undercover Man and Perfect Double. Although series books don't usually hold up well through the years, the romance enthusiast should definitely read these. The first two books of the collection, Night of the Jaguar and The Cowboy & the Cossack, have been re-released as Dangerous to Hold.

Undercover Man
Doc, the quiet genius of the group, is a whiz at making lists and planning for all eventualities. His ability to do so allows him to lead a double life as a world-renowned electronics expert and a spy for OMEGA, a top-secret agency. So he sees no trouble in traveling to Cannes with his partner Maggie, taking care of some OMEGA business, and flying his docile fiancee out for their wedding a couple of days after that. After all, he left her detailed instructions...

Little does he know that his simple and sweet Paige has thrown out all his lists, and is already on her way to Cannes to meet him. She still loves David, but just can't help feeling he's never quite himself with her, always holding some things back. She has decided to give him one more chance and, if they can't resolve this, she'll return his engagement ring.

Before she can meet him, however, she runs into a friendly American who takes her on a shopping spree that turns Paige from girl-next-door to slinky seductress. And that's when the trouble starts. What ensues is a case of mistaken identity, stolen technology, a mysterious buyer, a street-smart orphan and a high-priced callgirl. Oh, and Paige and David still have to have that talk...

This story is great. I give it 4 1/2 stars. In fact, the only reason I didn't think it rated five stars was because I read the next book in the series, PERFECT DOUBLE, before I read this one. Even in this work, there were times when I felt Maggie got dangerously close to stealing the show. So, I recommend that (unlike me) you read the books in order.

Perfect Double
There is a plot to assassinate the current United States vice-president. Since said official happens to be a woman, the top-secret OMEGA agency decides to have Maggie Sinclair impersonate her. Maggie is an experienced field operative, equally comfortable in shootouts as she is under cover. However, since this is such a high-risk mission, the agency director is sending her backup. The widowed vice-president is about to acquire a new boyfriend in the person of Adam Ridgeway-who just happens to be Maggie's boss.

Sparks, which were already smoldering in the previous novels, now fully ignite as Maggie and Adam must convince the world they are falling in love. And in the midst of trying to prevent an assassination and uncover a killer, their staged intimate moments come dangerously close to reality. The sweet inscription inside the wedding band Maggie now wears makes her long for a love of her own.

Maggie is definitely the precursor to Sidney Bristow (TV's ALIAS); she's intelligent, she's courageous, and she's resourceful. Unlike in so many other books, her attraction to Adam doesn't suddenly erase all of that. Rather, the main relationship issue in the book is how difficult it would be for Adam and Maggie to be a couple, given their respective occupations.

It's hard to explain why this book is so touching without giving some things away. But trust me, there are definitely some "Awwwwwwwww" moments in there, even if you're a cynic like me. From the bustling political circles of DC to an isolated snow-covered mountain retreat, there are plenty of chases, suspects, and steamy scenes. Add to this quite a bit of humor, cameo appearances from other OMEGA operatives, an iguana and a huge shaggy dog, and this novel definitely spells "keeper".

It is not necessary to read Dangerous to Hold to fully enjoy this book, although you probably won't be able to resist going back and reading it once you've finished this one.

HOLIDAY HONEYMOONS!
This all starts out as a Holloween Charity Ball.
Lucy Falco is the owner of Gulliver Travels.
OOOhhhh! you don't want to miss this one!
Cari O'Donnell was "marrying" Josh Keegan for charity. The Wedding was a sham? right? -- so if it meant spending a few hours in the arms of a handsome, eligible bachelor it wouldn't be much of a sacrifice .... right?

When Cari found out that her "fake" wedding had really made her Mrs. Josh Keegan, that was it! Oh, did she have plans for him!

Do not and I mean - do not - pass this one up -- M. Lovelace has another hit on her hands. I would dearly love to know who the guy is on the cover as he shows up on so many covers -- he is becoming an old friend. Wow!

Mistaken Identity
Lovelace has crafted an explosive story with well-developed characters with this book. I really enjoyed the chance to get to know and understand Marsh Henderson, a DEA agent, whose personal involvement in this recent case causes him to take an extraordinary risk when he uses the wrong sister to reel in his true target.

Neither Marsh nor Lauren took a backseat to the other. Both were equally well distributed and developed through the story in spite of, or rather because, the story was fast-paced and plot-driven.

Under the pressure of time, one would never really suppose that the two would not only make themselves understandable to the reader much less to each other and it is because of this that I think Mistaken Identity deserves a five star rating because Lovelace manages to craft a wonderful romantic tale between two characters who are brought together by their sense of responsibility towards family and justice.

Great Book
I really enjoyed this book. Jake was so cute and protective. Sarah was a woman with a past trying to change. Combine those two with a dangerous setting and voila! Instant romance. I would read this again in a heartbeat. It definately goes on my top 10 list of contemporary romances. I can't wait to read the rest of the Code Name: Danger series.
