Beautifully distinctive stencils
Paul has taken Egyptian motifs and produced them in glossy plastic stencils. There are six individual design motifs, from a mummy case to an ankh. There's also a nice stencils of the Egyptian god Anubis. These designs are perfect for school or home use. I would recommend this stencil booklet to anyone who loves all thing Egyptian. The price here is beautiful...I paid more than what it is here. Still it's well worth it.

Great and compact!
This is a great little stencil book. Despite it's size, the stencils themselves are not too small. These are great for typical stencil painting and also for use in Valentine's Day window decorating. And for this price you usually only get one stencil so this book of stencils is a definite money saver.

Christian Doctrine 101
If you are looking for an explanation of what Christians believe stated in language that anyone can understand, and clearly supported by biblical texts, then this is very likely the book you are looking for. Little writes especially for college students who are seeking to understand the Christian faith; not for professional theologians. His goal is to explain what is central to Christian teaching, that which unites all Christians, not that which divides Christians into different confessions. His gift is clarity and precision. I have used this book ever since it came out over twenty five years ago in teaching basic Christian doctrine in both a local church and college class setting. It is still my preference as an initiation to Christian Doctrine.

Simple elegance!
Paul Little's book, KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE, provides an apologetic of the Christian faith in simple, yet elegant terms. Little provided a straight forward approach to understanding the faith. It is an excellent resource for learning about the Christian faith and can be used as an evangelism tool - either through a pre-Christian reading it, or by providing a Chrsitian the skills to share the faith.

This book will enable the reader to draw near to God, as he or she learns about our Father, the glorious Lord Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. A wonderful experience!

A Firm Foundation
If you are just beginning as a Christian, this book will help you to get a firm foundation for your faith. It helps you with your Biblical study of your new life. If you are a more mature Christian, this book helps you keep the simplicity of the Christian faith in mind. When you speak with people about our Lord, have this book readily available. It will not do the speaking for you, but will help you to express what the Bible says if you happen to need some help. And I have needed this type of help from time to time. If you are wanting to know what Christianity is about and don't want to go through the Bible yet or talk with a Christian, this book will help you to see what it is that we believe.

I had a hard time putting this book down. I keep saying that I would put it down after I finish "just this one part". It helped me to get back to the basics of my belief. I was able to read the Bible with fresh eyes again. A wonderful book to read and great resource to have. I expect that I will need to buy several copies between giving them out and wearing mine out.

I would recommend this book to anyone.

A MUST-READ FOR ANY BIBLE STUDY OR SUNDAY SCHOOL>
A terrific resource that addresses the really thorny issues of Christianity and how it "works" in the lives of beleivers. Our adult study group spent nearly 12 weeks engrossed in this work. It is special.

This book is extraordinary in its ability to inductively deal with some of the toughest questions we have.

We thoroughly recommend it.

A Must Read for Anyone- Excellent Work
I have read many books on the subject of proving the reasonableness of the Christian faith. This book surpasses all of them because it is simple yet powerful. This book is good for Christians because it enables them to be ready for an answer like instructed in the Bible. It is good for unbelievers because it discusses in an unbiased way of thinking why there is a good reason to believe. The main focus is on answering in a logical and a reasonable way that is both convincing and solid. Paul E. Little is talented in zeroing in on the essentials and dispelling the non-essentials. It is profound, comforting and fills the gaps that many are unable to fill satisfactorily. It has strengthened my faith and has made me bold in sharing my faith. God has used this book in my life to take all doubt out and put stillness and peace in.

especially nice wildflower stencils
There are six wildflower stencils here, cut into heavy laminated paper. All are disconnected stencils, having separations between elements; I think this style is particularly effective in wall or furniture stencilling. The stencils are: jack-in-the-pulpit (5 inches high and 3 inches wide), lady's slipper (5 inches by 3.5 inches), black-eyed susan (5 inches by 3.5 inches), swamp rose mallow (4.5 inches by 3.5 inches), bluebell (5 inches by 2.5 inches) and Virginia creeper (4.5 by 3 inches). The jack-in-the-pulpit, swamp rose mallow and Virginia creeper are pictured on the cover, left to right. Depending on your project, you might want to shrink these basic designs, but you can't beat this price for getting some good basic stencils. They are also a nice size for preschooler art projects.

Absolutely lovely!
This sturdy little book from Dover contains six wildflower stencils. They're precut and easy to remove, and clearly labeled. I used them on some cupboards I put together, and they look fabulous. My favorite is the virginia creeper, though the exotic jack-in-the-pulpit runs a close second. Also included are a lady's slipper orchid, a black-eyed susan, a swamp rose mallow, and a stand of bluebells. One of the best books in this series.

Beginner-level introduction to Christian apologetics
Having read several books on apologetics myself, I found Little's book quite good. His presentation is easy to follow and the beginner will find it very manageable. It is a short book that new Christians or Christians approaching apologetics (the rational defence of Christianity) for the first time, will find useful.

Little's methodology is good as well. His dispels presuppositions that a priori prevent one from even considering Christianity. Little also has some ability to come up with memorable epigrams (though he is not as good at this as G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis are, in my opinion).

Little covers the following questions: Is Christianity Rational? Is There a God? Is Christ God? Did Christ Rise from the Dead? Is the Bible God's Word? Are the Bible Documents Reliable? Does Archaeology Verify Scripture? Are Miracles Possible? Do Science & Scripture Agree? Why Does God Allow Suffering & Evil? Does Christianity Differ from Other World Religions?

Is Christian Experience Valid?

In a book that is only 171 pages in length (excluding study questions), Little covers each topic quite quickly. Thankfully, he includes a "For Further Reading," section at the end of every chapter. Little's section on Science & Scripture was good as well (as one might expect, he covers the issue of origins). Little is careful to define terms (i.e. micro-evolution vs. macro-evolution) and I think he wisely notes that science is constantly changing (whereas the Bible is static), so one must be cautious not to absolutely weld contemporary scientific theories to the Bible.

The section on Christianity and other religions was mediocre. However, most Christian apologetic materials that read have suffered from the same problem. The standard approaches usually starts with a few thoughts on the nature of truth (especially the logical law of non-contradiction), then assert and prove the deity of Christ and then assume all other religions fall. While I see that this approach definitely works, I think it would helpful to interact with other religions and analyze them at a deep level. Anyway, I am demanding too much from a popular level book here. Little discussed (in 3-5 paragraphs each!) Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam and pointed some of their beliefs and the difficulties associated with them.

The nature of Christian experience is not a philosophical issue in the same way that the issue of miracles are, so the question must be approached differently. Little's explanation that Christian experience is based on historical facts (the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ) provides the context for understanding Christian experience.

Little ends with a challenge to personally commit oneself to Christianity.

The extensive study questions (about 10 per chapter) at the end of the book may be useful if one wanted to use the book as a study tool for a Bible Study group or something similar.

I would recommend this book as an introduction to the defence of Christianity or as a short review for old hands. However, the experienced reader may want deeper works to digest. Two good books for more advanced study: Reasonable Faith by William Lane Craig and Scaling the Secular City by J.P. Moreland.

Simple enough for every Christian layperson
For the Christian who is scared of "apologetics" because he thinks it means he has to "apologize," here's a book that doesn't get too technical but has plenty of good information about the defense of the faith. So often Christians don't have adequate answers to give to those who ask of them, as 1 Peter 3:15-16 commands, and so a book like this that is so readable and understandable can provide some ammunition the next time the skeptic questions the faith. Included at the end of each chapter are questions that can be used in a group or individual study.

Solid Theology for the beginer
Paul Littel has done an execlet job with this book. He gives a basic overview of the Christian faith in simple easy to understand language. excelent for HS to college students wanting to start a Teolgical study.

nice basic designs
There are six leaf stencils here, cut into heavy laminated paper. The stencils are: holly (5 inches long), white oak (5 inches), sweet gum (4 inches), yellow poplar (3-1/2 inches), maple (4 inches) and aspen (5 inches). The white oak, maple and holly are pictures on the cover (left to right). Depending on your project, you might want to shrink these basic designs a bit, but you can't beat this price for getting some good basic stencils.

Pretty and handy
This little book has six pre-cut stencils of leaves. Printed on sturdy cardstock and clearly labeled, the stencils are the perfect size for most projects. I've used them to paint and etch designs on jars and mugs, and to create a set of pillowcases and sheets. Included here are a sweet gum leaf, a maple leaf, a yellow poplar leaf, a holly leaf, a white oak leaf, and an aspen leaf.

Great for crafts!
This little book contains six precut designs of fish on sturdy paper. Each fish is made with a few parts, suitable for use in all kinds of crafts. I used these designs (along with the "Sea Creatures" book from the same series) to etch fish onto a bathroom mirror. (I traced them onto contact paper first and cut them out.) But there's only about a thousand other things you can do with them. I'm going to make a giant poster with all the sea creatures and fish stencils, next. These little books are indeed fun. This one contains an angelfish, a salmon, a goldfish, a flounder, a swordfish, and a shark.

Cool!
There are six sturdy pre-cut stencils in this little book from Dover. The dinosaurs are clearly labeled, and the perfect size for lots of projects. They're handy for painting dinosaurs on bookcases or cupboards, for making posters and feltboards, for decorating t-shirts and mirrors. The dinosaurs in this book include a great stegosaurus, a neat dimetrodon, and a stylish triceratops, as well as a tyrannosaurus, a flying rhamphorynchus, and a stately diplodocus.
