this book will boost your spirits
Little Rosa was a beautiful girl who was different from the rest of the kids in town. The children teased her for having a square-shaped head. Rosa was so upset she ran away so she wouldn't have to hear their chant, "There goes Rosa Redhead. She's a Little Squarehead."

She later found while looking at her true self, that she had gifts that made her feel wonderful. These gifts courage, confidence and compassion, boosted her spirits so she could face the world again!

This is a truly great book for kids that gets the message across that even though someone is different, you can't look at that difference. Everyone has that special something inside, and you need to look at that, not at the outside.

I love the concept of this message being taught by Peggy O'Neill. Visit her website Yo Peggy! for more information about her talks and seminars and her message for the world!

a fairy tale with a message
Rosa is different from other people; she has a square head. She is embarrassed to walk anywhere because grownups and children make fun of her. She runs into the woods and begins to cry. A voice calls to her to look in the water. She sees a bright diamond in her heart. The voice tells her that the reflection shows her true self. The next day when children make fun of her, she thinks about the diamond and hurries toward the secret pool. She begins to understand her gifts.

LITTLE SQUAREHEAD is told in a fairy tale style. Traditionally, she sees her inner beauty and learns of three special gifts: courage, confidence, and compassion. She also sees the gifts in others around her. A hide and seek game at the back of book list animals on the various pages for the reader to locate. A list of various roses to locate throughout the book is also included.

For young girls (and boys)
I'm not one for sexual stereotyping when reading aloud with children. So even though this is a book about a girl, it carries a valuable message for both boys and girls.

Little Squarehead is among a series from a small Bellevue, Wash., press (we recently reviewed another in the series, The Right Touch) revolving around important, contemporary issues for children. The books tend to touch a tender spot. I've been told no book is published by the company unless the president's elderly mother gives it her personal stamp of approval.

Little Squarehead confronts the pain children feel when they are isolated or perceived as different. The story teaches a child to perceive the beauty that is within and from that beauty to develop courage, confidence and compassion.

The illustrations are likely to keep a child engrossed for many readings, looking for hidden animals in the forest and learning a variety of rose species.

One of the greatest romance novels ever written!
This book is basically one of the classic love story: girl falls in love with one guy, is pursued by another, and is befriended by and secretly admired by a third. What makes this book great is that the reader can feel the magic that is woven by the author. We experience Caralisa's dramatic escapades and are enlightened to her feelings and thoughts. Adventure after adventure leads her to a tough decision to make. She must make a choice between her mind's idea of a future husband and her heart's secret wishes. In the end, she is very pleased with her choice. This book is a definate must-have!

Fantasy Seeker
Sincerely touched, Not everyday someone can come across a work that inspires them, perhaps others' seem a bit cliche`...or not fully doing the epic justice. But a few years ago I quickly picked up a novel in a dime store, and regretfully didn't get to read the resplendant lines till a few weeks ago, due to motherhood and the joys brought with it.

I honestly was swept away, never had I indulged into such a tale woven especially for myself... The unique combination of Fantasy AND History, not leaving out most important...Romance.. these categories masterfully set one into tears, joy and also relief at times. By emotions so easily provoked, I can only end this review in saying it is the pinnacle of ALL books I've ever read, and shall remain so. ;) Marie~

Masque of the Swan
It's one of those books that you would give anything for, if the plot happened to you. You scream, laugh, cry and talk to the book. There are times you throw it away from you saying, "why doesn't she get it? " and there are times you must hold onto it to see what happens. I would recommend this to everyone.

I Would Not Mind Making A Bargain With A Modern Day Thorne!
I really, really, really absolutely loved this book. It has to be up there with the best ever written, of course I am bias because Ms Ray is a favorite of mine. Alex and Thorne have a love that was truly made in heaven. I loved Alex's character, she was the extremely independent type, Thorne had no choice but to fall in love with her. Of course, back in that time women were seen and not heard. That did not apply to Alexandria Carstairs, Thorne did have a time with her but some people don't change. Well I do not what to ruin the story for you. Please, please, please try and find a copy of this book, you will not be disappointed! ... This is a must read book! Much, much, much love to Ms Ray!

Another "Two Thunbs Up" for Francis Ray. Very entertaining.
Ms. Ray first captured my attention with her arabesque novel Forever Yours. Since then, I have read everything that I could get my hands on that Ms. Ray has published. The Bargain, unlike any of her previous works offers readers a beautiful historical love story complete with intrigue and suspense. A must read! And I promise you won't be disappointed.

A definite recommendation for suspense thriller enthusiasts
Faces Of Fear: An Inspector Terry Mystery is a page-turning, pulse-pounding mystery about a serial killer who systematically tortures a therapists' clients to death, using their deepest phobias. Inspector Rick Terry becomes involved to stop the killing, in a horrific quest to bring the murderer to justice. Shocking, puzzling, and gripping to the very end, Faces Of Fear is a definite recommendation for suspense thriller enthusiasts and mystery buffs.

It kept me tearing through the pages!
This novel was just as well written as Dietz's series of murder mysteries, which were wonderful books. Her use of literary tools in this novel makes it a great buy.

GREAT BOOK
Wow, I read this book a really long time ago, it was one of the first romance novels I ever bought. (I bought it at a thrift store.) Years later, it still reemains an old favorite, and I wish it were still in print so others could enjoy it.

Awsome :)
hey :)

well, this book is actually kind of my sisters favorite, but i'm writing a review on it since nobody else has :) my sister read this book a long time ago and kept on telling me how good it was (she doesn't like to read so i found this shocking!) so i decided to read it. i kept on reading the first page and then putting the book down. for some reason i didn't want to read the book. well, it just so happens that i'm on vacation and have nothing to do. i pick up the book again and i read the first chapter. then i realize that i can't just put the book down. sure, it's not TOO interesting at the beginning, but it'll get more interesting... i promise! :) it's a good romance novel, you just have to read it for yourself. it's about this girl who marrys this guy but she doesn't really love him because she "loves" his brother. but then she realizes that she doesn't love his brother.... geez.. i hate writing reviews for good books because i make the books sound so plain! well, it's just a cool book! that's all i have to say. oh, and if you want to know anything specific about the book just email me. my email address is: rivas_juanita@hotmail.com. later, take care!!!! :)

Great collection.
Good mix of stories. Some funny, sad, enchanting. I didn't care for TEEL RULES/Mark Krieghbaum or ETERNITY'S GATE/Gary A. Braunbeck, but that's just me. Try it, it's nice to find a fantasy collection where just about all the stories are fine and readable.

Excellent Fantasy/Romance Anthology!
Great idea to combine Fantasy & Romance! This is my favorite anthology for either genre to date. Every story is a gem, not one single story could have been omitted. They were all the best I've read since Mercedes Lackey stopped writing about Diana Tregarde Investigations, and Silhouette decided to end the Shadows line of books. I already crave a Dangerous Magic II anthology. Yvonne Jock's story is my favorite, I can certainly identify with a TV junkie with an active imagination! Enough said, this is a must-have for any fantasy or romance fan (or both).

An eye-opening experience
I'm a guy and I wouldn't be caught dead reading a romance novel. But I do like fantasy so I picked this up for that reason. Surprised me that I enjoyed the stories by the romance writers just as much as from the fantasy writers. I figured maybe these were unusual stories, selected because they weren't typical for romance stories, but my girlfriend says no, that this is why she's been trying to get me to read romance stuff for the past couple of years. If the novels are anything like the stories in this anthology, then I'm going to have to start reading romance novels (with a book jacket on them of course.) My favorites in the collection are "Man of her Dreams" (T.Waggoner) and "Nine Tenths" (L.Hayden). How about a "DM2"?
