A clever capivating book about a child-like dog.
My 2 year old daughter loves Louie and all of his antics. She especially likes his search for Teddy. I like this book because it is easy for her to follow, has a captivating plot and beautiful illustrations. I only wish there were Louie sequel books available!

DELICIOUS SENSE OF IRONY
Boodil is a lovable dog who looks mostly like an anvil headed English bull terrier. (English bulls have anvil shaped heads). Her owner ascribes all kinds of traits to Boodil, none of which apply. The gentle irony, the great illustrations and the adorable dog are all requisite ingredients for a nice story.

truly special
What a truly wonderful story! As a children's librarian, I place Boodil up there with Carl and Daisy. Its a hoot!

A Family Favorite
A perfect pairing of text and illustrations make this an outstanding book that both children and adults can appreciate on different levels. When we first got the book, my 5 yr. old took the child narrator's view of Boodil at face value and didn't see the discrepancies suggested in the illustrations. Now, at 7, he's enjoying it even more as he can appreciate the humor. The author pokes fun gently at the less-than-objective ways we see our pets. Anyone who's been kept by a dog should enjoy this book.

A fun animal story
"Bridget and the Gray Wolves" is a children's picture story by Pija Lindenbaum; Kjersti Board is credited as the translator. The book tells about Bridget, a very cautious child who is "afraid of most things." After getting separated from her day care group, Bridget has a friendly encounter with a pack of playful wolves.

I found "Bridget" to be an odd and uneven book: it starts out like a realistic "social situation" type children's book, and unexpectedly morphs into a lighthearted talking animal story. I also felt that Bridget's character changed too abruptly. Still, this is a fun book with goofy, enjoyable artwork. Give it a try!
