Out In the Field, is an incredible resource for those interested in exploring ethnographic writing, anthropology, lesbian and gay studies, and gender studies. In this volume, different anthropologists speak about their experiences studying different cultures from a lesbian or gay persepctive. In the field of anthropology, it is challenging for lesbians and gays to decide when exposing their sexuality is important and when it could harm the acceptance of their work. Editors Ellen Lewin and Willian Leap have collected a body of works which are sensitive to the overriding concerns of lesbian and gay anthropologists and enthnographers. Most notably, these authors call out for more lesbians and gays to enter the field of anthropology because each believes there is a serious lack of information about homosexual cultures and becasue homosexual perspectives often inform studies in important new ways. Many of the authors of this book discuss their previous work documented in longer enthnographies. This volume gives a fabulous overview of the work of lesbian and gay ethnographers, and will entice you to read more of these authors' works.

This book shows gay couples that is alright to feel the way you do about your mate. Touching on a side of the life style that straight couples want in there straight relationships.

To the dot the book is shortly showing everyone it is plaining okay to feel the way you do about someone, anyone.

I live in an eight unit condo building, and was looking for a book to help bring order to our Board. This book is a good place to begin. Easy to read, easy to understand and well organized for reference. The author also lists other resources for further exploration. The appendices were rather disappointing though - can we have a sample agenda? Meeting notice? Bid summaries? Treasurer's report? Also, I just can't understand why it is [so costly]. For [that price], they should include a CD with templates of condo materials. I would have given this book four stars if it had been [half the price]. Five if it had better sample communications. However, I must say, that after searching for a simple book of guidelines, this was the best springboard.
