This Guy is the BEST!
This man isn't just a guided imagery specialist, he's a poet and a philosopher king! He understands suffering and he provides the tools to help people get through it in a most beautiful way!!

Warmth and love for those who need to heal themselves
The meditations in this book are very helpful for healing from past traumas. By practicing these exercises, one can attain a greater degree of self-acceptance, forgiveness of those who have hurt us, awareness of the present moment, and love for all sentient beings.

We all need to envelop ourselves in the golden glow of love, to mother the parts of ourselves that have been grievously wounded in the past, and to let go of the pain. These meditations are designed to do that, to help us nurture ourselves and send positive energy back into the universe.

Meditative and Healing
GUIDED MEDITATIONS is an excellent resource for anyone needing to contemplate and experience peace and healing. As a Spiritual Counselor for Hospice, I have used this book to help people who are dying find peace in the midst of one of life's most difficult circumstances. Each meditation is filled with words that guide one's soul through the mind and the emotions until one rests their awareness in the present moment. In the present moment, therein lies, infinity itself. -- Samuel Oliver, author of, WHAT THE DYING TEACH US: LESSONS ON LIVING.

How To Turn Adversity Into Success!
Turning No into Yes : Six Steps to Solving Your Financial Problems (So You Can Stop Worrying)
by Stephen M. Pollan, Mark Levine

This book demonstrates to the reader how you can look beyond your cash flow problem to the underlying issues, and then gives sound advice and principles in how to deal with those underlying issues.

In every case the path from no to yes is similar:
1. Determine your problem. Is the loan delayed because the banker doesn't like you, or because your income statement doesn't show enough in the asset column?

2. Make sure your dealing with one problem at a time. Don't try to rework your marketing at the same time that you trim your staff.

3. Focus on facts, Make sure that your own fears and worries aren't blinding you to the way things really are.

4. Become an expert. Immerse yourself in your problem; assemble all of the information you need to understand your needs and wants, as well as those of your opposite number.

5. Create an environment of trust; and, if you need to, Turn NO Into YES.

Now that you know the secrets to the authors principle, you should invest in this book and read hundreds of scenarios , ahowing how this technique can be applied in your life, and eventually become a piece of your self-worth fabric.

This book is like having a motivator, coach, and strategist at your home all of the time.

Highly recommend this book, and suggest you put it in your financial literacy library today!

An excellent tool to solve financial problems
I bought this book because I was familiar with the authors (I had read their books Die Broke and Live Rich which helped me very much). In the first part of the book, They explain the six step-approach to solve financial problems.I was really looking for a book like this one. We face many kinds of money problems every day. In the past I bought books about logical decision making and none is more useful and well thought than this one. Parts 2,3,4,and 5 give examples on how to use the method. I recommend to read these parts; they can be consulted in the future if are not needed at this time. Also by reading them, the whole concept is better understood and practically the six steps are memorized. Please do not think that you need to behave robot-like and use the entire six steps every time you face a problem. In my opinion, this book teaches that We need to approach every financial problem as much rationally as We can.And The more We try to do it the better We are going to become at it.

Super Advice
The book gives you straight answers on how to face challenges, financial and otherwise, that come your way in life: on the job and at home. I liked the examples the authors used; they were vivid and real. Bottom line is solve the problems you face and take responsibility for your actions.

Recommend this book in conjunction with another book on self direction and leadership I use called: "The Leader's Guide: 15 Essential Skills."

No More Cardboard Cooking for Allergies!
So many allergy specialty cookbooks end up with gooey, or bland tasting recipes that are far from exciting.

This book, however, changes all of that. Interesting, easy-to-use, delicious, and practical, this book could be the only one that you need if you suffer from any food allergies or sensitivities.

It is excellently laid out, with fascinating and thorough information, and I have used it again and again. Although it is not as gourmet as I usually eat, it is sufficient for the average cook/chef that has to deal with allergies in their household.

I highly recommend this book.

MUST HAVE COOKBOOK! (for anyone with food allergies)
As a person who is allergic to wheat, dairy, and eggs, I found this book to be an absolute lifesaver. Anyone with food allergies would know how difficult it is to buy or make alternatives that are cheap, simple, and most importantly taste good. I was very excited when I found this book because it is full of delicious, everyday recipes that are very easy to make. Besides being allergic to many different kinds of foods, I am also a college student living on my own. I didn't have much cooking experience, but I had no problems following the recipes. Another great thing about this book is that the ingredients in the recipes are used over and over again in different ways so there is very little waste. The recipes are also arranged neatly in different catagories, and the book includes detailed information about different ingredients and a rotation diet. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone suffering from food allergies because it has allowed me to enjoy many common recipes I otherwise could not have eaten. I thank the authors with all my heart for writing this much needed book.

A very useful book
This book really helped me bring more of my spiritual growth into my daily life. Most of the spiritual books I have read have been written by non-Americans with monastic backgrounds, and the disconnect in lifestyles has been the most difficult thing to bridge. I understand more fully now what the eastern teachers are talking about when they say that America has to create its own traditions from the teachings.

Great book! Great Value! Tons of Information!
I didn't know what to expect when I bought this book but I was pleasantly surprised! It offers so much great advice for dealing with a variety of life's situations. The advice is simple & easy to read. There are so many topics covered, I liked the section on personal finance the most. Although the parts dealing with family situations are very useful, direct and to the point, like tracing a family tree, dealing with problem neighbors, etc...I recommend this book. It a good home reference book.

The school of hard knocks in one package
What an amazing achievement. Antoniak takes life's most problematic tasks and turns them into easily followed step by step processes. From the monumental -- buying a home -- to the mundane -- shopping for a used car -- Lifemaps offers solutions. Buy this book and you won't need to fill up your shelves with lots of other how-to books. Since I bought it I've used it dozens of times...and I've bought copies for all my kids too.

Did Ellen Levine attend PS 177 in Brooklyn from 1946 to 1954
Was Ellen Levine in my elementary school class? If so, we are both authors of many books. We're both 57 or so. If so, you were my friendly classmate at PS 177 or D.A. Boody JHS. Is that you, Ellen? If so, a warm hello from a grandma of five who also writes a lot of books, a history buff, and was also born around 1941. If this is another Ellen, then just ignore this message.

Keep on writing those wonderful books. They are helpful and make the world a smarter place. Mrs. A

Blessed are those who listen and absorb this cassette
I have listened to sevearal of Stephen and Ondrea Levine's tapes and read several of their books, in large part to get in touch with the grief related to the loss of my mother this last March. Without question the Levines have made this deep, dark path called grief much more understandable for me. In fact, I feel as if I have been given a gift in learning about life by working thorugh this grief. That is, by learning from the Levines I have grown emensly as a human being. This is a gift, I might add, that I would gladly return in an instant to get my mother back.

That said, this cassetee is a wonderful crystalization of grief related work that I have read/heard by the Levines. The tools are largely the same, (e.g., soft belly and forgiveness to let go of the armoring around the heart), but the approach is refreshingly new. For those who are grieving this is a safe place to enter into the darkness of fear and guilt and depression, and to let go of holding on. There is an especially powerful meditation on letting go of the armoring around the heart that can and should be practiced again and again. For grief work is deep, enriching internal work that, that requires focussed attention, which this mediation and the overall tape provide.

For those seeking to go into the darkness, looking for a way to braille through life's darkest turns, this cassette will prove an invaluable compasion - well worth its price.

Must have!
It is VERY nice book. Especially for medical students and residents.
You can understand from detail to basic of diseases. With this book, you know how to approach and make your list of differential diagnosis.
I worked for infectious disease patients for a while, and this book was very useful because you can get the general knowledge not only about infectious diseases but also general internal medicine, skin lesions, bone diseases, and so on. I especially recommend the chart of antibiotics(Chart 37). I like this book because we can also get the update etiology of diseases. So nice.

Comprehensive and Thorough
Current Medicine is right up there among the top few reference books. It has excellent chapters in Cardiology, Infectious diseases and Respiratory medicine. One of the key features is the references of the latest articles at the end of every topic that is covered. This is book is worth every cent that is spent to buy it, a truly productive investment of time and money....a must buy for students who want to ace their exams.

Excellent Medicine Book
This is a "must have" text for any student of medicine. It has all the information one needs for ward rounds, presentations, and exams. Medicine is an ever-evolving field and this book keeps up with all the latest developments. The references are conveniently given at the end of each section so the student can easily look up the most relevant articles. I especially like the "Essentials of Diagnosis" that precedes each disease entity and summarizes the key points. However this book is very much clinical/management-oriented. It does not have pictures/slides nor does it cover pathophysiology (for that, Harrison's is a better book).

Inspiring
I'm a college student who frequently loathes her readings. NOT THIS ONE. It will challenge the way you think, it will challenge the way you act, it will challenge your perceptions, it will change your life and the way you see it...in a positive, worthwhile, meaningful, not condescending, warming, loving, caring way.

Do yourself a favor, READ THE BOOK. Rent it from the library, borrow a copy from a friend, buy it if you want. You can pick it apart, read the SHORT, CONCISE, WISE chapters in any order you want for any duration, and you will inevitably learn from it.

I am eternally grateful to my professor who assigned this book. It has made me a better person.

An incredibly helpful book
Stephen Levine is an extremely compassionate person who transmits this ability to the reader. He inspires the reader to be loving and patient with others and him/herself. Hope and love are inspired and it's an all together useful and reachable path that he shows us. This book is a must for any seeker or traveler on the spiritual path.

It Just Keeps Graduating...
In 1989, I was in drug-rehab where I was given this book by one of the psychologists. It literally changed my whole point of view on many issues and introduced me to Spriituallity and Meditation. I still practice Vipasanna and Chakara Meditation to this day. The book itself is written very simply with passion and will appeal to all levels of intellect. I have since then bought every book that Stephen Levine has published and I recommend all of them highly!
