I bought this for my 7 year old sister...she loves it! She is learning about science without even knowing it and loves making the different concoctions!

"The incredible secret formula book" gives plenty of neat little things to keep you and your kids busy on those boring summer days.

Most of the things in this book use items you probably all ready have in your home: paper, corn starch, sugar and various food items.

This book details things like How to make invisible ink or disappering ink. If that doesn't interest you there's making chalk out of egg shells or how to recylce paper. you can even make "Mutant slime" a kids favorite. Don't like mutant Slime? how 'bout psylly slime or miss muppet slime? victal slime or udderly Gross slime? lots of fun for kids and thier mom and or dad.

This book has become my children's favorite. It is full of cheap ideas that the kid's love to experiment with. I would recommend this book to all parents.

My son wanted a microscope for his birthday. I had already bought some microscope books. This one was the best for beginners. On every page there are detailed but cute color pictures explaining all the technical stuff. ALSO, on each page that talks about viewing a particular object under the microscope, there's an ACTUAL PHOTO of the object under the microscop, so you don't have to guess if you're looking at the right thing. This is a really fun book. Before I looked at this book I was getting discouraged because the other two books seemed way too complicated and thus boring for my 8 year old son.

NOT ONLY are the pictures and experiments great, but this book talks about SAFETY, it tells you what overall SUPPLIES you will need, for each individual experiment what SUPPLIES you will need, it explains--in a FUN WAY--how the microscope and other lenses work. ALSO, in the authors own words, "THE MICROSCOPE BOOK is intended to teach children basic techniques and observation skills WITHOUT DESTROYING ANY LIFE FORMS."

I commend the authors Shar Levine & Leslie Johnstone and the Illustrator David Sovka.

This larger format book contains a wonderful mix of colorful cartoon-like illustrations and full color photomicrographs of interesting projects for learning more about our small world. The book is entertaining, educational, and fun. Teenagers and adults will want to follow-up with the more detailed book "Exploring with the Microscope", by Werner Nachtigall.

This well illustrated book covers the basics of microscopy for the younger reader in an atmosphere of fun and delight. The reader will learn more about their small world and have a good time with the many interesting projects. This book and it's cartoon-like illustrations and detailed photomicrographs are a wonderful example of a fine science book for young readers.

but aren't sure where to begin....the answer is RIGHT HERE! Not only do you get a great book full of pictures and information that is JUST RIGHT for beginners, you get a pouch full of your own crystals! No running around trying to find the crystals talked about in the book! The crystals I got in my kit were a nice size, and of an excellent quality. However, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone already familiar with crystals, as the information is very basic, and you probably already have the crystals.

If your child loves science, as most do, they will love the ideas generated in this book. It is a no-brainer for parents to set-up, promote, and design fun-filled science activities.

A great book that teaches you how to build a variety of kites and provides the materials to build a couple of them. It even includes paint and a paintbrush so that you can decorate your kite any way you like. The book also provides a bit of history into different kinds of kites from around world. Highly recommended, especially if you like building stuff.

This book includes many many activities exploring magnetism and electricity. The activities are described in detail, including a list of supplies and an explanation of what happened in the activity.

Marbles have been around thousands of years: this provides the basics of various simple marble games, from tournaments to specific games. Also included are projects such as how to make a marble bag, along with plenty of terminology explanations for all ages.

I ordered two different books to find a project for my 10 yr. old son plus looked at projects all over the internet. This book is the ultimate if your looking for something simple but really great. It even gives you ideas to take your project further depending on the grade level of your child. My son won 1st place!!!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book. You won't be sorry you ordered it.

This is an easy-to-read, comprehensive guide for those wishing to learn about the various uses of essential oils, what they are, and what they cure. The last section of the book, where more extensive information is given about each essential oil (scent, uses, and cautions), is especially useful to "intermediates" who wish to begin creating their own recipes and blends. The only drawback is that some 70 oils are introduced and used in the recipes in the book, which means a beginner who wants to experiment with these recipes will have to spend an exorbitant amount of money to get started. I definitely recommend it for someone who knows a bit about oils and already has an EO inventory of their own.

I'm brand spanking new to using aromatherapy. I decided to explore the subject because I realized I had a highly developed sense of smell and how it affected my life on the daily basis. After skimming through this book for a few days I was stricken with asthma due to seasonal changes. Having suffered from this condition all of my adult life, I know how hard it is to gain control of my breathing after numerous attacks. AFTER seeking medical attention to bring my condition under control I started using the deep breathing formulas for the diffusor. I was surprised by how quickly it penetrated. After a few days of bedrest and this formula, I was able to return to work and normal activities. Before I would be housebound for at least 10-14 days. I highly recommend this book and look forward to seeing what else it has to offer.

I love this book and find myself referring to it often, for myself and to share some of the recipes with friends and family. It has more varied blends, recipes and applications than any other book I have found so far, and like it says, for mind AND body uses. Many blends are "off the beaten track" like ones for such things as introspection, mental awareness, weight loss, etc., as well as the usual stress relief, meditation, sleep, etc. And there are numerous ways listed to use these applications instead of just in massage or oil diffusers. While this book may not focus as much on the scientific aspect of aromatherapy as others do, this is not a bad thing - it does focus on the practical, everyday and down-to-earth uses for aromatherapy, which is what I was looking for rather than the dry scientific stuff that I can find elsewhere. I wanted a book I could use, not one I'd read and then sit on the shelf gathering dust. I think this is a very valuable reference to suppliment anyone's aromatherapy library. Worth every penny.

This book is fun, witty, and entertaining, and certainly will get you interested in playing serious checkers. But it won't help you very much.

The book mainly deals in a disorganized way with mid-game tactics and end-game situations. Interesting traps and shots are presented, along with problems that are too hard for most beginners. That's all there is; just a little about openings, for instance. I kept reading and rereading this book thinking there has to be more here, but I have yet to find it.

Read the book if you only wish to have your appetite stimulated, and then do your real study from a more complete book such as Reinfeld.

I am a regular at the MSN gaming zone (usually playing in rated room 1 or kings a competitive room) and before buying this book I had around a 1550-1600 rating which is not good at all. So I thought I would try reading a book and see what it would do to my game. A MAJOR improvement occured in my game after reading this book. My rating is now hundreds of points higher than before. I have beaten some of the best players and my recent statistics are 16 wins and 3 losses. Where would I be without this book? I dont think my rating would of moved a notch. This is clear to understand and I am buying it for my checker buddys. The board it includes with the 32 numbers is not only great for recording your games you play...but its great for mail play! I got 100 times more out of this book than what I payed. Thank you Mr.Pike...you really improved my game.

I got this book the second day I started playing checkers. I am now a serious checkers player and can improve my rating about 50 points in one day! This book was really helpful to a player like me and I would suggest it to a friend.
