Good Read
This is a good read and a story that calls to mind the customs and experiences of the early southwest. It has a solid story line with firm plotting that holds your interest. The principles are believable and their character development gives depth. It is well written and the story moves quickly, much in the manner of a Louis L'Amour novel. I think you will find it enjoyable and a book you would recommend to friends.

A MUST READ!
From the first page this book caught my interest and I couldn't put it down. The story line is a charming romance with a mysterious subplot that interweaves the characters with tenderness and intrigue. Morrow, the heroine, was an independent free spirit, a woman ahead of her time, who aspired to total control over the men in her life. I thought her character was well-developed and probably a true representation of the physical strength and moral integrity of pioneer women. The conflicts with the male characters only emphasized Morrow's single-minded determination.

The author painted a vivid picture of what life was like on a West Texas ranch. The description and details of the trail drive were very convincing. I could almost feel the dirt, heat, sweat and miseries of the trail riders. Anyone who has visited West Texas would recognize the terrain by the vibrant images depicted by the author.

This is a very moving book that culminates in heartbreak and joy. One really cares about what happens to the characters. I highly recommend this book.

Texas Historical Novel Great Read
This story of a powerfulfamily who own the largest Texas ranch in the Panhandle face sudden adversity, threat of losing the land, laced with a strong love story and a mystery which evolves to change all their lives.

The background of the characters and land in this 1880 era is authentic and mesmerizing in the telling of this evenly paced story of the Baldwins.

This book will appeal to men and women as the characters are strong, appealing and real in their actions and reactions to

the many turn of events.
