A Delight
While rushing for a long flight , I forgot to purchase something to read to pass the time . Dreading the thought of reading the in-fliht magazine or watching the movie, I was fortunate that a friendly passenger next to me offered "Bright Lights" for me to read . She had just finished it and strongly recomended it. The flight 'flew by ' as I was entirely captivated by this book . The story line was not only intricate in a subtle, nuanced manner , but was also quite humorous . It is difficult to believe that this is Mr. Lehners' first novel . I eagerly await his second

Bright Day
How many times is a person willing to turn a blind eye to social and political injustice to pursue career success? Bright Day, by David Lehner, shows us apathy, greed, and a world around us that encourages people to earn money, and social status at almost any cost.

At times, Bright Day is disturbing because moral choices and fear of failure are subtly intertwined. We may recognize friends or ourselves in the narrator's voice, as it searches for something that seems to change as the novel progresses.

Although Bright Day is a commentary about a segment of younger Baby-Boomers and the Generation-X, it is quite simply a fast-paced thriller which I enjoyed thoroughly.
