Spectacular!
Sidney Sheldon is one of my favorite writers, so it is no wonder that Windmills of the Gods is such an excellent book. Like all his books, Windmills of the Gods is equipped with a silky yet entrancing writing style that makes it impossible to put down. In the story, Mary Ashley, a university professor in Kansas, is appointed ambassador to Romania, which had only recently ameliorated its relations with the West. Mary receives much acclaim and over night she becomes one of the most famous and influential people in the world. However, she finds herself in the middle of a treacherous web of conspiracy and corrupt power, and many parties are after her, including one of the most powerful assassins in the world. Even the reader does not know who Mary should trust as she tries unremittingly to vanquish the forces that are working against her. You are in for many shocking surprises as well as great joys and sorrows as you read this book. It is truly one of the best.

Sisney Sheldon's surprises & suspence!
Really, this is the best book I've ever read after "The Best Laid Plans" again by Sidney Sheldon. If you are reading other reviews on this book, try to avoid ones telling you the synopsis, or else there will be no point, really, to read this book. I'm not going to tell you what it is about but I could possibly tell you that be prepared that the climax is not reached until the third book. Be sure to read till the end, or you'll regret! Now about Sheldon: He has the ability to frame an innocent person to look like the tyrant of the century and conceal so meticulously the deepest secret of an ordinary person. I guess that's what makes Sheldon's books so special and luridly intriguing!

the definition of a page-turner
This book defines the phrase "page-turner." I simply could not put it down. The minute I thought "okay, I'll stop here" there was another twist in the story and I had to keep reading to find out what happend next. Then, near the end of the book, EVERYTHING takes a crazy turn and mysteries unfold that make you say things out loud like, "NO WAY" and "OMIGOD." I am not much of a book reader, in fact this is the first book I've read since high school, and I am going on my 5th Sydney Sheldon book in 3 weeks. This guy is good!!!

Careful! Bit of a juvenile read!
Just a bit of warning for purchasers of this book! This account almost appears like it was written for a juvenile audience. Indeed, the preface denotes hope that it will serve as an "inspiration to the youth of today". Hence, keep in mind this is not a very scholarly read - although a glossary of artillery terms and diagrams is very helpful. Nice starter text, but this effort by Mr Hassler wasn't quite what I wanted - nor expected.

Excellent
John pelham is truly a remarkable figure of the American civil War. reading this book allowed me to better understand the sterling character and superb strategical skills of this "Boy major" recommended for anyone who wants to learn more about "The gallant pelham"

International Accounting and Multinational Enterprises
Published in Paperback by John Wiley and Sons Ltd (22 February, 1993)
Authors: Lee Radebaugh, Sidney Gray, and Jeffrey H. Arpan

Needs extensive editing and reorganization.
This text suffers from its haphazard organization and lack of clarity in presentation. Textual material could be simplified if presented in tabular form. Text also suffers from lack of precision in references to accompanying tables. Material and citations tend to be a hodgepodge of older and, in some cases, obsolete studies done by other academicians.

This is a decent book...
I agree with the previous reviewer who mentioned the text was very disorganized. Much of the information provided is very redundant, hence the book could have been much shorter (and less expensive).

Synopsis: National cultures and laws affect accounting standards used by different countries. The book discusses the major differences of accounting in great detail. There is a push by the International Accounting Standards Board to harmonize accounting standards so that international financial statements will be more comparable. Will they succeed? Read this book and then decide for yourself.

Best in giving full information and food for thought
I have used the book while working on my Final Thesis. I found it very informative and at the same time it is not overwhelmed with extensive discussions not relating to the main topic. It is clear and logical.
