Deron Hamel is phenomenal, I cannot believe the imagination. A must read.

This book is hard to describe. I just finished it, and throughout all the laughter and tears, all i can say is that im going to read it again and again.. it is a funny, sad, yet comforting place.

Whether you need info on migraine, cluster headaches, tension-type headaches, or any other headache problem, this book will have it. The outline format, tables, and illustrations make the content easy to access and understand. Includes an outstanding section on medications.

This 2nd edition of the handbook is comprehensive and concise. The arrangement of the book provides a methodical review of basic issues in headache from etiology to treatment. Specific attention to the various classifications of headache provides highly valuable information regarding evaluation and management of the headache patient. The section reviewing medications used in headache treatment is comprehensive and highly informative. Especially notable is a general atomsphere of care and concern for the plight of the chronic headache patient regarding the multitude of complex factors affecting pain. This handbook is an excellent reference for any practitioner dealing with headache management.

I purchased this dictionary at a Spanish book festival three years ago and it has been a useful reference material thus far. The dictionary is geared towards speakers and learners of Latin American Spanish just judging by the vocabulary throughout the dictionary. It includes plenty of colloquialisms as well. The dictionary is arranged alphabetically in Spanish with the equivalent English word or phrase. This dictionary can help clarify many inquiries you may have about the terminology, words, phrases, anglicisms that are so diverse in Latin America and even in the USA. It contains approximately 5000 entries and here are some examples:

1)chotear= mofarse de alguien. =to make fun of somebody
2)chamuchina= populacho=riffraff
3)palanganear= fanfaronear=to brag, show off
4)pinche= maldito=lousy
5)cucar=molestar=to provoke

These are just some of the many examples of the type of vocabulary that is included in this dictionary. Of course this is selective vocabulary, which one may deem not important to know but it won't hurt to understand what these words means since they are part of the colloquial Spanish spoken by many.

I purchased this book in 1996 when I started floral arranging. This book is excellent and a great reference if you are entering into floral design competitions or cut flower competitions. The publication is easy to read and to understand. It covers what a exhibitor needs to know for staging work. It gives you the criteria that the judge will use when judging your entries.

An excellent reference it brings together every thing you want to know.

In this light, accessible book, Authors Crane and Hamel give us fifteen stories of unique Christian professionals who understand that their business practices can bear a stronger testimony to their faith than their words. Some of them formed their businesses with these convictions; others learned how to apply their faith in the middle of their careers. Each of them have zealously pursued serving God in business and community. Like Merrill Oster says, they now consider it "normal to serve God in every situation."

The book opens quoting Dallas Willard's The Spirit of the Disciplines. "Possession and direction of the forces of wealth are as legitimate an expression of the redemptive rule of God in human life as is Bible teaching or a prayer meeting." On that premise, Crane and Hamel offer fairly uncritical descriptions of Christian executives striving to honor the Lord through business policy and personal leadership. If concepts like this are better taught by example, then this book hopes to give its readers ample exposure to several examples of God-honoring professionalism.

Those examples often follow a theme of respecting people--employees, vendors, and customers--as valuable in themselves, not as means to profit or self-glory. The people in a company, whatever their role, are to be loved as neighbors who bear the image of God, even if they are uninterested or hostile to the gospel. One example focuses on deliberately building a diverse work force in order to live Christianly in front of those on the other side of our natural dividers, that is, of different ethnicity, education, or social understanding. Another example describes an assisted living community started out of love for senior citizens by a couple who "had seen the dark side of eldercare." Though some admit to overzealous witnessing and personal failures, the majority of those interviewed relate their successes, both big and small, over the years.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. I used this workbook almost 7 years ago and it has been my requirement of all my sponsees to pick up this book and use it as a strong foundation. Goes deeper then any other step book around. If you use this book correctly it helps you with your 4th and 8th steps too.

An excellent reference book recommended by my Spanish instructor. It is of great help in reading periodicals and deciphering conversations in Mexican Spanish. While beginners will enjoy browsing through the book and should certainly consider adding a copy to their reference materials, they will find that they cannot look up phrases in English to put into Spanish. This is not an English/Spanish dictionary.

This is one of the very few print resources available for those seeking information in this field. The data is comprehensive, listing organizations and institutions by species, area of study and interest, and even a name index for those involved in the field. While it can be tedious to get though all of the dense information, this guide is really the only thing I have found that allows schools and organizations to unambiguously list the types of investigations they pursue as well as the goals and philosophies behind their work and research. An absolute necessity for those looking to pursue post-secondary education in the field.

The Rustic Sourdough Focacia is great (though I make it in a baking pan instead of a cookie sheet - it's just too loose and thin otherwise)! Add some camelized onions to the top to make it even better.

I bought this book because I absolutely love focaccia, but am forever spoiled by the ease of the bread machine. This book brings the two together beautifully! I made the Pesto Focaccia first, because I make my own pesto every summer and freeze it, and this was a great way to make use of it. It turned out really well, and it feels good to hear "Oh my gosh, this is great!" when you try something new! I can't wait to try some of the stuffed pizza recipes, they sound wonderful. The recipes are well written, instructions are clear, and there are a couple of very helpful sections in the beginning that go over equipment, ingredients and "Secrets for Success". There are also lots of hints throughout the book, in fact, there is one after almost every recipe. I also liked the fact that the book is spiral bound, yet hardcover. It lays flat for easy reference, which I found convenient. The only drawback is the lack of pictures. I am a sucker for a cookbook with LOTS of pictures, and I really missed them in this one.

This cookbook has turned out to be a favorite of ours, and my husband frequently says Why don't we try another recipe out of "Pizza Bread book"....we have enjoyed ALL the things we have created from this wonderful book! I think any new bride who has a bread maker should have this book! thank you Lora Brody for your wonderful recipes!
