Things That Get Rewarded Get Done
The "greatest management principle in the world" is that "the things that get rewarded get done". This may sound simplistic, but only a small percentage of people apply it.

This has been one of the best business books that I have read, and I have read hundreds. In many ways, it seems so obvious that many people do not bother to understand it. As a result, we keep re-inventing the wheel and wondering why our resources are being wasted.

There are many guidelines of how to spot the ways we are indirectly rewarding the opposite of what we desire. You will soon find yourself often saying to yourself, and hopefully others, "well, the things that get rewarded get done".

This should be required reading for MBA programs, but it was not for the one I was in and it appears it is not in most others. Alas, the things that get rewarded get done.

The Greatest Customer Service Related Book...Ever
This is simply the greatest book ever on how to treat customers the way they should be treated, how to handle potential problems, and how to capitalize on it all. In the future, I will be sure to use the practical, no-nonsense advice given by Michael LeBoeuf. His business management and customer service related masterpieces should make up any part of a manager or sales analyst/manager's business bookshelf. His books are not only helpful to those with their own business or those involved with sales or managing a business, but are important for use in everyday life and how to treat people. The popular mantra associated with this book is simple, yet profound: "What gets rewarded, gets done".

Small Busines Owners Manual
This is an absolute must read for all small busines owners. I've had my own small manufacturing business for 19 years and I can assure you - THERE IS SO MUCH TRUTH IN THESE PAGES THAT YOU IGNORE IT AT YOUR OWN PERIL. Plus, Michael Leboeuf is a excellent writer. Buy it!

Every small business owner should read this book!
One of the deadliest mistakes in small business (even worse in large corporations) is to ignore your "back end" sales. By "back end" I mean additional (larger) sales made to your customers.

The only way to continue to market to your customer base is if they are happy with you. Dr. Michael LeBoeuf has spelled out a plan for turning "satisfied" customers (those quiet customers who never complain) into "loyal" customers (those customers who are hyper-responsive to your offers).

I especially enjoyed the startling statistics in the "Something to Think About" section. It points out in a dramatic fashion just how much money dissatisfied customers can be costing your business and how hard it is to detect unhappy customers.

I give this book my highest recommendation...especially to small business owners.

Nothing new
The book discussing concepts on adding wealth, however there are much better books on this topic.

Awesome.
This book should be required reading in college. Our world would be a better place if people focused on their priorities in life and resisted the constant seduction of wasting money.

Get it, read it, live it. You will not regret it!

A Gift for Now and the Future
Looking for that perfect gift? I just purchased 18 copies of The Millionaire in You to give to colleagues, clients, friends and family. It's powerful, it's practical, and LeBoeuf has communicated this common sense approach in terms that anyone can understand! Share the wealth! Get a copy for yourself and for those whose future you care about.

Doing more in less time and more; as promised.
This book is more then a time efficiency book but a how to book on managing all aspects of the office from scheduling and pructing meetings to effective communications. This is good starting and improving your SOHO (small office / home office) operations. It starts off each chapter discussing popular beliefs. I loved the chapter on "work tapes". People have different beliefs about work from being "good for you" to "the harder you work the more successful you are". The truth regarding discipline. The difference between being efficient and effective. Doing the right job (efficacy); doing the job right
(effective). Handing disruptions; papers; goal planning; the right way to use a TO DO list. The only problem is the material is dated to 1979. (Before email, teleconferencing and Intenet) My copy had a printing error on page 267 the publisher missed printed the pages and started over with page 33. Missed "efficient Communications") This continued for about 40 pages before picking up with last chapter of the book. Even though dated and with this defect I enjoyed the book. It's an easy read and I highly recommended it.

The best book on time management I ever read.
This book is best book on time management I ever read. I'm sure I squeezed out an extra half hour each workday with these principles.

Very motivational
After reading this book, rather quickly, I found it to be a great motivational starting block. If you are considering becoming a small business owner, store front or internet, this book gets you started. Do not expect the 1, 2, 3's on business operations, but you do get the behind the scenes considerations you must make to start your journey to becoming a "millionare". This book is a few years old and you'll notice dated information in places, but the application of its information is still very much applicable for today. Not a must read book but definitely a good read book. Enjoy, I did.

An excellent book with a misleading cover.
I would give this book a perfect score were it not for the fact that the title and cover material does not represent the book's contents entirely accurately, so some readers may feel misled. The book presents itself as a practical guide for home-based businesses when in fact it is more of a self-help success guide in the genre of "Think and Grow Rich". This may be exactly what most aspiring home-businesspeople need; still, I would imagine that readers seeking practical specifics may be disappointed.

As a self-help success guide, however, this is a fantastic book; one of the best I've ever read. It contains no original or revolutionary ideas. Instead, it distills the best ideas of the countless success manuals written over the past 100 years into a clear and logically consistent philosophy, and applies this philosophy to the subject of self-employment.

A must reading for everubody who wants to make money at home
This book is one of the best I have ever read--clear, consistent, convincing, motivating. If you really want to earn money from you home, you must read this book. I'm Russian and now I'm living in Moscow. We have here in Russia a great shortage of business books contaning efficient ideas how to build your own perfect business and win freedom. Many people here still don't beleive that communists never come back to power in this country.

When two months ago my good friend in Munich, Germany, losts his job as an editor in publishing house I recommended him this book of Michael LeBoeuf. And now my German friend beginns to make his freelance career.

I'm shopping books from Amazon.com and although it is rather expensive for me but it pays! I have read about 12 or so books like this one in the last year. I have read this book twice and--repeat--this one of the best! Actually, the Perfect Business!

Wrong slant on motivation
It's been many years since I read this book, so my recollection may be off. As I recall, the GMP is something like "that which gets rewarded gets done." If so, then this book is of a piece with hundreds that extoll the virtues of extrinsic motivation, whether carrots or sticks. For a devasting critique of extrinsic motivation, I recommend Alfie Kohn's PUNISHED BY REWARDS, brimming with insights into the shortsightedness of trying to motivate people with promises or threats. Years of consulting work and of on-the-job observation as a manager and employee have taught me that Kohn provides a true GMP, even if most managers resist it. Like those who could see with their own eyes that the Sun circled the Earth, these managers can "see" that only rewards or, the flip side of the same coin, punishments get results. If you are ready to question the "obvious," read this book, then Kohn's.

The best Management book of all time
I read this book in the original edition when it was titled the Greatest Management Principle. While a simple and straight-forward book, it reveals the greatest of all management principles. I have read hundreds of management books over the last 30 years of my business career and nothing has told the real truth of motivating people like this book. It should be required reading for anyone who wishes to manage people.

Excellent summary of techniques to increase productivity
It would be of tremendous help to obtain details on how to convey the presented practices with effective management techniques such as Management By Objective.
