Just Makes You Hate Angela!
I almost ditched this book in the middle because of my severe hatred towards Angela (the 'fiend'). This shows how great the author is, if she can make you hate the character so much! It's not my favourite book, but it's worth a read.

It's about a girl Charlie (Charlotte) who has a friend (or fiend, as Charlie wrote in an essay at school) called Angela. Angela sure is a fiend, as you'll see if you read this book. She is always playing tricks on Charlie, and that makes you hate her SO much, and then you hate Charlie for not sticking up for herself.

As I said before, not the best book, but worth a read.

Pretty Good...
The book, 'My Best Fiend' was a pretty good book, but it had its rough bits. It was quite amusing and at some parts very realistic, but at some times it became too bizzarre for me. Also, I found it rather too childish, although that can be excused as it was written from Charlie, a young girl's point of view. It was sometimes rather good and sometimes rather bad. Charlie must put up with Angela's antics, tricks and plain mischief and sometimes take the blame, like when Angela glues the fat Laurence Parker to his seat and Miss Bennet blames Charlie.

For those who dislike episodic stories, this bok is not for you, but if you enjoy short stories read this - each chapter is a tale about Angela and Charlie. I found Angela engaging and very funny and charming. However, I found the main character Charlie rather meek and annoying.

Overall, I give this book three stars because although it is funny, it is stiff and rather too drawn-out. Hopefully the sequel will be an improvement. I would still recommend this book to younger readers, though, as it may appeal to them.
