This book is unique. I believe that no other sociologist could have filed such a consistently readable record of "social concerns" (NOT social problems!), all within a highly disciplined and explicit sociological framework. Otto Larsen in this book, and in countless others, has also left an indelible mark on sociology as a profession. Of that, I can speak with authority.
