storyline of book
For the sake of his twin, Shaw Campbell would storm the gates of Hell. Yet his brother was not in the hands of the devil, but of Merritt Lamont, a female firebrand who would defend her family's honor to the death... and readily take Shaw with her! In these vengeful times of clan warfare, Merritt knew there were few men she could trust. Yet there was something in the eyes of Shaw Campbell that spoke of a man of peace. A man who could all too easily capture her troubled heart

excellent highland romp
this book concerns two clans/families at war--the Campbells and Lamonts. When his brother goes missing he sets out to find him and what he discovers about the Lamonts and the events around Sutton Campbell's disappearance lead to a mysterious Black Campbell who is revealed at the books climatic ending.

This book has a perfect mix of romance, action, adventure, and mystery. I was totally drawn into the awesome characters that Langan portrayed so excellently.

I found Highland Heaven at a garage sale. Intrigued by the cover art and back synopsis I bought it. A week or two later I finally got down to seriously reading it. After the first few chapters I found myself being drawn in more and more to the story unfolding. The characters are what really grabs one's imagination. The story is great as well with action, adventure, and romance being intertwined with each other masterfully.

I would love to see this made into a movie; I think it would be pefectly adaptable to the screen.

This is one great book, and will definately spark the imagination and appeal to the romantics as well as the more action oriented.

A book you won't want to put down!
I found this book packed with exciting adventure. Shaw is torn between defending his family, his land, and the one he comes to love verses remaining a man of the cloth about to take his vows. Will he pick up a sword and fight? Read the book and find out! It's a super read.

The Wildes of Wyoming-Hazard
When Hazard Wilde's experimental herd begins yielding fatal results for unknown reasons, he calls in research specialist, Dr. Erin Ryan, under the advisement of a mutual mentor. He hopes that her objectivity and expertise will help him discover what is behind the unexplainable deaths that are occurring. Surprisingly enough, it is her heart that engages itself with this project and with it, her tenacity when it comes to finding out the cause.

I found Hazard, the middle brother, to be admirable, determined, and dedicated. He has a close affinity with the land and I really enjoyed looking at the Double W through his eyes because of his appreciation for what his father originally wanted for him and his brothers. It's what he struggles to hang on to and improve upon.

Erin Ryan was endearing as a heroine because of her naivete which was at such odds with her advanced mind. I've read of heroines who have been incredibly smart but have also been, as a result, incredibly insecure or hypersensitive about it as well. I think that Erin's naivete was refreshing. Her lack of consuming bitterness towards the childhood that shaped her was engaging as well.

Langan has drawn two wonderfully isolated characters towards each other with skill, compassion, and heart. It's a wonderful story that conveys the sense that, even for people who are socially withdrawn, there is someone who can understand you and whom you can come to understand in turn.

The Wildes of Wyoming - Hazard
This is a most enjoyable and romantic book. As a nurse, some of the medical stuff was not quite right, and was almost laughable. However, with all the romance, this was overshadowed. Any woman would love to have a prom night like that, with that date! Who would need the real thing? You have to read the book to know what that means, cause I'm not gonna spoil that little surprise! All in all, this was a well thought out, romantic book that I have read twice since buying it!

The Wildes of Wyoming-Hazard
I enjoyed the story of Hazard, the oldest Wilde brother of the Wyoming Wildes. This is the second book in the series and as good, if not better, than the previous book. Hazard is the least likely to gamble of the 3 brothers. The one most tied to the land. Cattle is his livelihood and his passion. And his cattle are dying for no apparent cause. When he seeks help, vet Dr. Ryan arrives. She is not what he expected but she is what he wants. This story flows smoothly, with an interesting cast and mystery to the end. I can hardly wait for the next brothers story.

Awesome!
Ruth Langan has written another winner! I loved this book so much! It was so funny and romantic! I have read the whole saga and I loved it!

Heart-stopping adventure and intrigue!
When first we meet Conor and Emma, we learn of his intelligence and realize he is hiding another identity. Innocent Emma doesn't know her hero will once day become her destiny.

The dangerous game Emma and Conor are forced to play at court keeps a reader's heart pumping in her throat. It's a danger that carries through to their first volatile kiss, one which awakens scorching passions beyond the dictates wisdom allows in their situation.

Conor's character is further revealed when he tenderly watches over a wounded Emma. His manly integrity, though tested daily by his growing feelings for Emma, remain in tact. He cannot force himself upon her innocence no matter how much he physically desires her. When she's well and able to attend court once more, even drunk and miserably jealous, Conor manages to leave Emma untouched.

Emma's dilemma deepens as she realizes she is falling in love with the man she must use shamelessly so that she may spy for her wicked stepmother. The outcome looks grim indeed, but she is determined to see her father and sister again, even if it means seducing and deceiving the man she's beginning to love with all her heart.

On a midnight journey, Conor leads Emma into discovering her sister and father being held captive in unspeakable conditions, drugged and weak. Emma can't bear to leave them, but Conor wisely forces her to return to the palace with him.

Ruth Langan takes us through a heart-pounding rescue, but that's only the harbinger of this book's mounting excitement, as Conor soon finds himself in need of rescuing. Emma gives the reader a thrilling performance while saving Conor from peril.

On the return to the palace life they both hate, Conor and Emma gift each other by physically expression their growing love. Their lovemaking shatters the night with everlasting sweetness destined to warm Conor's soul for years to come.

You won't be able to stop turning the pages as disaster grows imminent and their plight becomes critical. Emma and Conor barely escape the claws of death so many times it causes one's heart to stop beating.

The author has rendered an ending that will amaze and amuse you to no end. It's another magnificent book from Ruth Ryan Langan's deft writing mind. Her work never, never disappoints.

Delightful holiday read!
Four different stories, four different times ... all set in the Freedom Inn during snowy New England winters. Unlike some other anthologies where one or more of the stories falls behind the others, all four of these stories are strong, with well-drawn characters and steamy romance. Though the weather outside the inn might be snowy and cold, the temperature inside is definitely hot!

Holiday delight!
Authors: Debra Dier, Linda Jones, Ruth Ryan Langan, & Linda Madl*

The Freedom Inn-Port Freedom, New Hampshire-Across the centuries, the warmth of its hearth brings true hearts together at Christmastime!

1781 When Alexander Stark left his family's inn to join the War for American Independence, lttle did he expect to return to the bleak reality of blindness. He was doomed to embittered darkness, unless the beautiful Medora's bittersweet caress could illuminate his world with Love's Light.

1845 When dashing privateer Eli Whittaker turned businessman, he thought the Freedom Inn would be the perfect place to transact his marriage of convenience. But the fiery Sara Larkfield was determined to fan his pirate's passion into the union of a lifetime-before she could accept his marriage gift of The Christmas Pearls.

1889 Forcing one's sister into a loveless marriage was less than Rachel Stark's idea of chivalry-and yet the virile TS Beauchamp was doing precisely that. The entrepreneur was certainly handsome, but was he valiant enough to prove that he could be not only a breathtaking lover, but also live up to being Rachel's Hero?

1996 When successful novelist Adam Holt returned to the inn owned by his childhood sweetheart, Caroline Stark, he knew that this time he would have to capture her heart forever-for without the fiesty beauty, his heart could never be truly Home for Christmas.

Addy Starr
I loved this book! I never read this author before and romance novels are not my genre. In fact, I was surprised to find that this book fell under the 'romance' category. It was so much more. I feel romance is not the main sentiment of this book. I would classify it as a suspense novel with romantic undertones. Initially, you meet the three main characters and how their bonds unfold and I was riveted. I loved these characters and actually thought about them when I wasn't reading the book - like they were real! There are wonderful secondary characters and what I liked was that there weren't so many you forgot who they were and had to look back. Everyone had their place and they were so few you had no problem remembering every one of them. Although romance does bloom in this novel, I found it very suspensful. I couldn't put it down. I was cheering for the main characters and couldn't wait to find out what happened to them. If you have never read this author and if you like suspense novels with developed characters and romantic undertones, then this is the book for you. I don't know if all of her novels are like this but I will definitely try another one!

This book was great! i loved it!
it had great charaters. Brice Campbell and Meredith McAplin were truly wonderful and spirited characters. The story about them was perfect and truly a love story and Has a visit from Mary Queen of Scots. I loved Meredith's 2 younger sisters. I love merediths younger sister Megan and think Mrs. Langan should do a book about her. I think anyone who likes a good romance and scotland should read this book.

it's my pleasure to be the first one to review this book
First of all, Ruth Langan is such a good writer. This story was one of the best I've read in Harlequin books. Jamie and Lindsey are one of the best characters I've read. Lindsey is not the typical heroine character. She is truly sincere, lonely, and vulnerable. And Jamie on the other hand, is just the guy you'd want to marry. They're perfect 4 each other. The story is somewhat complicated but it just have a great plot. You wont get bored reading this. Give it a chance.

A REALLY GREAT STORY - WORTHY OF BEING A HISTORICAL
For a man who didn't know how to win a woman's heart, Matt Prescott made a good job of it.

Aaron Prescott, nearly 15, wanted a wife for his father and a mother for his brothers and sister. He wanted his father to be happy again.

Benjamin and Clement were special brothers and Del, the littlist, a cute sister. Clement did the trapping for pelts and Benjamin was great at collecting honey and Del kept chickens and gathered the eggs. Everyone contributed to the welfare of the family.

Matt and Aaron tracked down and broke to saddle, wild mustangs for the army. Isabella couldn't believe her luck in being able to join this special family.

But as always, danger does exist, and Matt must resuce Isabella from Cutler, a horror from her past. But love has blossomed for Matt and Isabella in a most beautiful fashion.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -- don't miss this great story

awesome
At first I used to think that romance books were dorky. This is the first romance book I ever read. Now I read nothing but romance.

This book warms the heart!
If you want to read about acceptance, love between family members, and how the good guy always wins then this is a must have! This book is witty, charming, and it is a great read when the weather is frightful!
