Enjoyable, well-written , informative and comprehensive .
The secret of this book's success is that it organizes and presents information already well-known to the cigar aficionado in a most appealing format. Publishers and editors of reference books would do well to see what the Landes have done in this most readable work.

Great Resource and a Pleasure to leaf through
Wonderful interviews with the Giants of the Cigar Industry, beautiful photos of Cigars, Boxes, Bands, Tobacco plants, roller's tables, etc. A comprehensive history and primer on the origins, journeys, and incarnations of the Smoke Tube. A great addition to any Cigar Smoker's table.

Ethical and Moral Decision Making
Based upon the findings of Harvard's Lawrence Kohlberg, the great pioneer reseacher in the psychology of moral development, this book not only identifies the six stages of moral development but guides us through each STAGE. We come to understand why we make the decisions we make. STAGES offer a unique way of looking and living life. Considering this book was published years ago, Nathaniel Lande is a visionary, far ahead of his time with meaningful scholarship. It a timeless book that should a handbook, a moral manual for historians and politicians, professors and students, and of course by decision makers everywhere.

Understanding Moral Decisions
With graceful scholarship, STAGES indentifies six stages of ethical decision making. It is a way to look at life and history, literature and philosophy, as if through a moral telescope that reveals details of familiar landscapes.

Outstanding scholarship. A wonderful read!
"A Dynamite read" Colonel David Hackworth: NEWSWEEK.

"Beautifully written...This masterful collection is for anyone who appreciates good writing and loves journalism. It is a moving account of our republic that honors the best in our profession." Edward Barnes:TIME.

I could not agree more with these quotes from the Oxford University Press edition of DISPATCHES FROM THE FRONT: A History of the American War Correspondent. From typewriter patriots to frontline poets, radio microphones and satelitte links, this book is a stunning illustrated history of the American War Correspondent. I found it facinating, especially the tone and character of the press coverage that has shaped the nation's understanding of itself. Nathaniel Lande is a graceful and insightful writer, a scholar who has written one of the most facinating books with riveting accounts from Ten American Wars. It is more than "national snapshots" of the world and America on the home front and front lines. I felt every musket fire and missile blast from Lexington to Bagdad. I think readers will be particularly moved, as I was, with the selected dispatches filed by Ernest Hemingway, Ernie Pyle and Sydney Schanberg, who with more than sixty other correspondents took me inside American's Wars as they happened.

Good for soul searching beginners.
As a career counselor at a local school I am always looking for new and innovative approaches to career exploration. This kit was interesting and really used a unique method for inviting the reader to take a hands-on approach to career and self development. Not really much new for many of us who have read a great deal of self-help material, pretty much says what I have already heard. I really liked how it focued on finding a good match for your personality type, good way to promote job satisfaction and retention. Pretty good material - a bit over priced.

A Brillant Book!
This book shoold be in everybody's library. It is helpful, informative and full of information for anyone on a career path and wants better relationships. You will never be the same again. It is both innovative and interactive! A beautifully produced work.
