A Very Comprehensive Guide To Making Repairs!
I used this manual to make practical repairs to a 1983 Cavalier. It gave detailed and very comprehensive information, with lots of photos and drawings to guide me through every step of maintenance, repair, or overhaul. A shop manual is a reference. You want to be able to find information fast. This Clymer book, is designed with such use in mind!

serious, precise but, I've forgot about one car

Almost
Informative, but not complete. It's like they don't won't the average, hard working man to know exactly how to fix everything wrong with his engine. I learned a lot, but still have to take the engine in for certain problems I'm sure I could do with my tools but the book gave incomplete information on how to fix. A book this at this price should give every detail on how to fix almost every problem with the engine it covers. Am I right?

A Good Technical Manual, Provided You Have Experience...
I found this book to be a very good shop manual, as it includes most of the repair procedures anyone would want to perform. However, I found this book lacking in a couple of areas. For one, there is not a comprehensive troubleshooting section. Troubleshooting steps are given for a few systems, but this book is written only for service, so you have to know what is wrong and what part of the motor to work on before this book is useful. Also, much of the engine terminology is not defined, so again you need some experience with this before you start. Once you get past these hurdles, this manual is very detailed, with plenty of good pictures showing key steps in the repair proceedures. For the seasoned marine mechanic, this is an excellent reference. For the do-it-yourself boat owner, it might not be the place to start.

Overall it’s a descent technical reference for the money
When I bought mine several years ago. There is a lot of good general information with some specifics, but don’t expect to be rebuilding a motor with this book if you haven’t done it before. One problem with this and other Chilton books is that they try to cover to broad a range and be everything to everybody in one book. This book has helped me solve a lot of problems or at least led me in the right direction but it won’t hold your hand and walk you through every detail. You will definitely want a good outboard troubleshooting guide to go with this book unless you are already familiar with outboard theory and have some experience.

Story of the quick rise and collapse of the Triangle Corp.
The Triangle Corporation was announced with great fanfare in 1915. Three giants of the film industry, D.W. Griffith, Thomas Ince, and Mack Sennett would form a corporation that would supply theatres with the best films available. From an auspicious beginning, the company was already in trouble after one year. It somehow survived until about 1920, mostly by re-issuing its old films and producing cheap programmers. This book is the story of Harry Aitken, whose vision created the company. His mismanagement and out-right fraud ended up destroying the company. Author Lahue has done a great job researching this long-defunct company. My only criticism is that the author uses a little dramatic license to get inside several of the subjects heads to tell us what they were thinking. Overall, an excellent book for anyone interested in silent film history.

RODRIGUEZ-ARZOLA.VICTOR_M@AUGUSTA.VA.GOV
I have resently purchased a boat, 82 Silverliner with a 3.8 liter engine, with stern drive (800 or 400). The 82 model boat and the Clymer manual that came with it differ. Something happened with the boat's electrical system which dose not match with those of 82 or earlier versions, but do with those electrical systems 86 and later versions. I've had to buy two books because of these differances, one for the years 64 through 86 repairing the mechanical and 86 through 90 series manual repairing the electrical system. I suggest; that the early and latest versions of these books be updated with the electrical system for all models reguardless of year.

I give an above average...rating of the book: the matieral in the book is understandable and with clearly illistrations. Much of the info is standard for rebuilding engines, but clear when it comes to the differant models of sterns drives, and accessories available with these boats. Except, the electrical system differing throughtout the years 82 through 86.
