Focus First on Knowledge and Data to Avoid IT Stalls
IT has often had it backwards, such as when companies seek to automate what already adds little value. If the data are degraded in the process, you fall back instead of forward. The downside risk is real, as is the upside opportunity. While many books talk in abstraction about knowledge management, this book provides a practical process that will vastly improve IT effectiveness. IT managers should read this first, as should their clients. I hope that this book will be but the beginning of an emphasis on first dealing with the problem, then looking for the right way to deliver and use the data while protecting them, then look at the software and hardware choices. I look forward to future books that provide even more examples of what can go right and wrong with the knowledge and data. This is the way that best practices should be spelled out. I also look forward to seeing how best practices will evolve in this field into future best practices. There is a lot of room for improvement.

The Oracle of Love, by Leeann Richards
The art of gaining insight into personalities, sitiuations and future predicaments through the use of playing cards is as old as civilization itself, but Leeann Richards new book The Oracle of Love brings a whole new aspect to this highly entertaining subject.
Witty, informative, easy to read, these pages are laced with deep perceptions of men and women, their vulnerabilities, their ambitions, and what makes them tick. We learn to probe beneath the surface of human nature. As well as being an excellent instructional guide, this book is funny. Leeann Richard's quotes and examples are so good, you know EXACTLY what she is describing in terms of feelings and reactions.
A wonderful read, a valuable tool, this book is worht its weight in gold.

Too much fun!
I loved this book. It was easy to navigate and the descriptions of the cards were much more fun than you would expect. Not just dry, dictionary stuff but lively and entertaining. This girl can write. I don't know for certain that any cards can tell the future but this book sure had some good thoughts about men and relationships and finding love. Pick it up, pop the cork and have a good hoot and holler. You might see things differently!

Insightful and Fun, Oracle of Love is a Great Find!
I've had the pleasure of using LeeAnn Richards' new book on a number of occasions. The Oracle of Love has proven to be a wonderful tool for myself and my girlfriends. It's incredibly easy to use. Richards offers several card spreads to choose from, so we've been able to tailor the book to our needs. Specific cards are siimple to find because of the easy-reference format used by the book. The advice given by the cards (via Richards' interpretation) has been amazingly insightful. In addition, the stories she tells both amuse and warm the heart. I would recommend this book to anyone who's looking to find out more about themselves and/or the person they're currently interested in. It's a real find.

The Classic Mother Goose Edited by Armand Eisen
We received this book as a gift for our son's first birthday, and he has loved it to death! He loved to fill in the missing words as we read to him, and quickly learned all of his nursery ryhmes. Now at age 2, he is rediscovering this treasure...he has fallen in love with the illustrations all over again, and he understands the meaning and humor in these wonderful rhymes!

This book changed my life for the better.
I got this book when I was little and now I want this book for my little girl. My favorite nursery rhyme is the one about the Crooked man. I reccommend everyone buying this book for their children.

A perfect collection of nursery rhymes.
The Classic Mother Goose is the perfect book to introduce nursery rhymes to kids of all ages. The illustrations in this book captivate the smallest children and they will choose this book over and over again as a favorite for bedtime stories. My kids read our first copy to death. That is the true test of how good a book is.

Mr. Vaugh, a man with a lotta' Heart.
A tale of simple believing and self forgiveness. By letting go of the anger, including the ego and pride, Eagle Boy coupled the powerful believing in friendships and trusting in the inner spirit within all true hearts, a transformation of healing can take place in our inner mind and body, within our families, whithin our communities, within the nation and around the world. Imagine and conceive the resulting peace that cannot be robbed from us, no matter the events of the world. Great retelling of this legend, that combines the best in many cultures and beliefs. Perfect for these very times.

A beautifully illustrated, magical tale
"Eagle Boy: A Pacific Northwest Native Tale" is retold by Richard Lee Vaughan with illustrations by Lee Christiansen. Together they tell the story of a Native American boy called Eagle Boy by the people of his village. Eagle Boy is scolded by the villagers because he shares his food with the eagles. But when his village faces a food shortage, Eagle Boy's kinship with the winged predators becomes important for everybody.

"Eagle Boy" is a story of ostracism, love, magical transformation, and a mystical human-animal connection. Eagle Boy is a memorable hero. The illustrations are truly marvelous: they are rich with warm colors, and make dramatic use of light and shadow. The book opens with a stunning picture of eagles fishing by the seashore, and contains many other great images. Recommended.

Soaring with thoughtfulness
Sharing, kindness and friendship are the main themes in this wonderful Native American folktale. Readers will become aware of the true bonds that can develop between humans and animals. That is an invaluable lesson that will help deepen appreciation for nature.

Very good intriging story
I loved this book. It was a very good read, and it kept me turning the pages. I liked the way the WoD line of books used to be, like this one, for they were good short reads. (Comparitively speaking to the common three-part sages White-Wolf is currently publishing.) It had many good plot twists and superb character developments. I do hope that the author, as he said in his own review, can get around to bringing the vampire hero back once again for another story.

Amazing..
I love this novel...usually, I am into reading vampire romance novels, but this book was a pleasent surprise, I mainly read it to have something to do. I am very happy to have read it, I certainly recommend it.

Excellent, enjoyable.
Again, very well written. I wondered if the other book were a fluke (On a Darkling Main), but this also proved a pleasant surprise. If anything, it was better than its predecessor. The character development was stronger and the plot remained good. SUMMARY: Zane's lover is brutally murdered. To find out what is behind the whole thing, he hooks up with a bored vampire elder . His story intrigues Sartak and he agrees to help. They find out that Rose was a doppleganger of a powerful psychotic and all of her "sisters" aren't dead. The hunter turns out to be a human psychiatrist / psychic that has power over the Prince of Tampa. Some of the characters return from On a Darkling Main to be shown in a different light. Very enjoyable.

great pop up book!
My daughter loves this series, and she's only 15 months old! The pop ups are sturdier than you'd expect, but we have used some scotch tape. These books have taught her animals sounds (farmyard) and many other things. I'm sure this one will help with her colors.

A Real Winner!
I bought this book for my son when he was 18 months old. He fell in love with the vibrant colors and pop-up creatures immediately! At 27 months he still asks for the "parrot" book regularly. We love this book so much we buy them for our friends' children and have completed our set of Snappy Pop-Up books with the other four.

Snappy Little Colors
My 10 month old niece enjoys this book at least 3 times a day...and has ever since she was only 3 months old. Although, she has about 25 excellent age-appropriate books, this is her favorite! The pop-up paper is sturdy, and the illustrations are bright, clear and simple.

Best study Bible!
I love this Bible - I make sure this is the Bible our church gets for our graduation gifts for the seniors every year - it's also the Bible I bought my wife. The print is clear, and it's a durable Bible with lots of accurate notes.

A wealth of info, a great buy!
This study Bible is one of the best versions out there. It is very easy to follow and understand. It has outlines and footnotes that allow you to apply each verse to everyday life.

BEST STUDY BIBLE AVAILABLE
I am a Seminary student and have gone through many study bibles. However, this work by W.A. Criswell is by far the best in the business.

I finally am able to figure out our two reference librarians
After reading this book I am both happy and relieved to say that I am finally on the road to figuring out our two reference librarians. I had thought that there would be no hope but this important guide clears up many of my long-standing questions!

ANY and EVERY librarian can relate to this one
When the journal _Booklist_ appears in our library mailbox, I grab it, open it, and quickly scan the table of contents for the page number of "The Manley Arts" column. Forget the book reviews -- they can wait until lunchtime. I *have* to read Will Manley first. He's the Dave Barry of librarianship, the Andy Rooney of bibliophiles, the Jerry Seinfeld of bookworms. His comments are always on the mark and usually make me smile and nod my head in agreement. Here, his observations about goofy patrons with bizarre questions and typical reference desk scenarios are accompanied by Richard Lee's funky illustrations. The result is the kind of honest silliness that should first be thoroughly enjoyed by oneself and then immediately shared with colleagues. Though this book is clearly one of specialized humor, anyone who works in a public service occupation will recognize some of the customer categories -- "Dorkus Completis," "Studentus Moronis," "Parentus Irresponsibilis," and the rest. If a layperson stumbles across these pages, let the outcome be that he/she learned that (a) librarians are people too and (b) that they have a good sense of humor. It might be a strange and twisted kind, but it is humor nevertheless. Thank you, Will, for encouraging us to laugh at ourselves.

very funny, toungue in cheek.
Just read this one, checked out from my local library. I'm not a librarian but my mom is, and I'm about to start working on my MLS. We both had a good laugh w/ this book.

The section on "stupid reference questions" made me howl. I pray I will be able to keep a straight face if I ever end up working in Reference. May end up choosing cataloging from the get-go! The 10 stages were funny, if a little depressing.

Think of Matt Groening's "Life is Hell", focused on Librarianship. That's pretty much the kind of book you have here.
