Beyond Schindler
THis is a compelling story written almost in novel form. The history is documented meticulously and represents a herculean effort by the author. This story of rescue on a grand scale is largely unknown and Schindler's efforts pale b comparison. This is a must read for anyone interested in the Holocaust. The author deserves much praise-I would love to hear him speak!

Truly inspiring!
If you like history, then this is a book for you.
Read about the conditions of Jewish life in America in the early 1900's. Read how Mr. Tress played such an amazing role in helping create the vibrant Jewish community we take so for granted today. Mr. Tress saved thousands of people during World War Two. Read the details, and the difficulties in doing so.
No matter where you affiliate, you'll be deeply moved by reading the story of a man with so great a heart as to encompass all.
Truly inspiring!

Rav Breuer: His Life and His Legacy

Average review score:

I found the book superficial in it's coverage of the materia
This book was interesting and does provide some useful information. It is not however a work of scholarship. The authors provide virtually no footnotes throughout the work, and provide little with regard to bolstering their statements. Additionally, there is a noticeable paucity of any sort of critical analysis of the philosophy of Austritt, the backbone of R. Breuer's weltanschaung. When reading the authors treatment of R. Breuer's attitude toward Zionism, i could not help but feel that the authors were subtly providing their own views on the subject along with those of R. Breuer. (This became obvious when in describing R. Breuer'opposition to Mizrachi religious Zionism, they state that it is important to remember that "the Mizrachi then was not what it has turned into today." This type of editorialsing is bothersome to this reader. Still the book did clear up some mistaken notions I had, and it does make for intersting reading
