Precious book!
My 5 year-old niece, Elizabeth, just lost her very first tooth, so I decided to get her this book and velvet pouch.I found out about it from Amazon.com.
Her Grandma was baby-sitting her at the time, and as soon as she received it she wanted Grandma to read the whole book to her immediately.
Then when my sister and brother-in-law got home, my niece had my sister read her the WHOLE book AGAIN!
She absolutely LOVES the book and velvet pouch.
It was so special to her when she lost her first tooth. She has another tooth that is quite wobbly (which she'll probably lose any day now) so the velvet pouch will come in very handy.
She did ask my sister, however, if the Tooth Fairy got to keep the velvet pouch. She was VERY concerned about the velvet pouch, and if it was hers to keep or the Tooth Fairy's. My sister assured her that it was her very own velvet pouch to keep.
I highly recommend this precious little book and velvet pouch as a gift for a child who has lost their first tooth/ or is about to lose a tooth. It is a very sweet and adorable gift for a very special and memorable event.

Charming!
This book about the world of toothfairies, losing teeth, and what becomes of your lost teeth is absolutely charming! My five year old received this book from the toothfairy when she lost her first tooth, and she was delighted. It is very sweet, and in addition to the toothfairy story, comes with toothfairy legends from around the world, tooth jokes, and so on. The little velvet bag is also very sweet, and my daughter looks forward to using it when she loses her next tooth.

Great Book
I love this book the illustrator is great! All the pictures are wonderfully painted. The written part of the book is great to

Essential and Inspirational
"Meet the Authors and the Illustrators, Volume One" is both a mental and a physical tool for young readers because it has the potential to either spark or further encourage their interest in books. Photocopying individual worksheets is not prohibited, as noted in the copyright information, and would be instrumental as a classroom reference for every child. Suggested activities proposed by the featured professionals, coupled with the insight each has volunteered in their previously presented interview, foster an atmosphere of literary acceptance. A definition of writing styles, solutions for writer's block, the importance of researching and rewriting, as well as the source of an author's ideas are presented with each profile in a transcriptual style, answering the intuitive reader's silent questions. Favorite childhood authors, such as Dr. Seuss, produce juvenile memories, while more advanced novels invite the reader to explore for himself. One of the most valuable assets of this collaboration is its tangible insistence that authors and illustrators are indeed ordinary people, coping with the challenges of creativity in the same ways as young people. Photographs, biographical synopsis, and bibliographical summaries also provide familiarity, reinforcing the concept of average people with extraordinary talent. If an open book is an open mind, "Meet the Authors and the Illustrators" is an essential introduction to the halls of literature.

I met them~
This is a terrific resource book! As a public library children's librarian, I am so often asked if I know anything about the kids' favorite authors. Now I have a reference book that helps me answer those questions! Many of our favorite authors are included, such as Tomie dePaola, Steven Kellogg , Chris Van Allsburg, and my personal favorite, Jean Fritz. "Meet the Authors and Illustrators vol I" has a wonderful, unique feature. The book is divided into two sections: Picture book authors, and Intermediate authors. Sixty authors are included! I can't wait to get Volume II!

A Real Plus in Your Language Class!
"25 Thematic mini-books" is a real plus in my language class!

The book is basiclly devided into 3 banches:"special days", "animals and plants", and "folkand faily tales." Under each category, there a lot of different fun-filled activities that will make your teaching even vivid. I have gone through almost every mini-book is this book and all of them turned out great!! My students (3rd graders) enjoyed making their mini-books as well as reading them. They colored the books and read them over and over again. 3 of my kids even memorized everything in the dinosaur book!

I did a survey at the end of the semester and found out that this mini-book activitiy is on the top of the most-favorite list! If you have a 2nd or 3rd greader at home or you are a homeroom teacher in lower school, you really should try this book!!
