a gripping true story of one young russian communist
who was able to escape to canada in the end, where he was saved. this is an amazing book, a true story. he talks about meeting with some of the leaders of the country, the communists at the top. to me, the most amazing part of this book is that if sergei had stayed where he was, he would have been promoted high up in the country - perhaps all the way to the top - and we may have been hearing of him in the news today. but he realised that none of it was right, that there was truth out there, and that it was held by the Christians he had been hired to torment and kill. he finally escaped to canada and died shortly thereafter. this is an amazing book. if you can get your hands on it, read it!
This book was about a sad man's life and how he changed it.
'The Persecutor' is a sad but true story. It's about a boy named Sergei. Sergei was put into a home at a young age. He always excelled in being number one. But then when he got out of the home he was offered a job in police work. The police wasn't ordinary work. He would have to break up believers that were having meetings. It got so bad he even killed people. Then one day something happened and he changed his way of life. It says how he changed but I don't want to wreck the ending for you, but I will recommed it to you. It is a very sad but true story about how things did happen back then and were told to keep hush, hush.
A Great Piece of True Literature
"The Persecutor" was one of the best books I have ever read! Totally outstanding detail that kept me going page after page. From his childhood, to him escaping to Cananda, Sergei Kourdokov took you on a trip to Russia, were life is hard and only the strong survive. This story was not only suspensful, but very moving and tragic. I recommend this book for those seeking spiritual revival or just to have a book to read again and again!
