"WoW,this book has my name written all over it" I thought as I stumbbled on Writing Your Own Plays a book by Carol Korty. As I read the book summary it was saying to me "Caleb check me out, who knows maybe your play may take a deeper meaning." My defintion of a meaningful play has been taken to a higher level, and the defintion of what "WORKS" Has beeen elevated.

I have been working on a play for all most a year now. It is slow, but it si worth the time. I was stuck on the same level of play writing until I realized I was missing the basic ekenebts to a good play. (A theme and action) My theme was undefined and was bared in the monotony in most of the scenes. Korty said "Don't try to lecture or give arguments in a play as you would in a speech." This is one of many helpful suggestions you will find in this book.

Korty's highly organized chapters, are saturated with pratical exsamples. her clear words and useful tips;, khelp the reader to want to read more on each tip described.

I would highly recomend this book for anyone writing or consider writing a play, even if you are a beginer like myself. It is well worth the the time and effort it takes to read it; you will find this book is helpful and useful.

To the future reader, I want to say, evaluate you goals as a playwright before you read the book. Because this book can help you reah them, as well as cultivate them.
