One very good coffe' table book
I first saw Tomas Kinkades work at a gallery in Port Jefferson Long Island. They were set in special rooms with typical individual lights for each piece. There were dimmer switches in the room that we were able to control the lighting, enhancing the effects. The paintings actually came alive with light as I dimmed the house lights. I'm not in the position to afford his work but with this book I'm at least able to enjoy the experience. The book is so good you can see the brush strokes and even the bumps in the canvas It's not as good as the real thing although it dose tease your senses. So sit back. Put on some soothing music and live the experience.

Simpler Times by Thomas Kinkade
At the college I work at I teach classes on personal development and stress management through hardiness training. Recently, in class, we were discussing whether it is possible to experience joy when in the midst of challenges and trials. Through beautiful artwork and inspired narrative in "Simpler Times," Mr. Kinkade demonstrates how one can experience peace and joy in a hectic world. The book was like food for my soul. Thank you.

A Great Gift for Yourself in this busy world
I bought this book 2 years ago, as a reward for myself. It's so beautiful and tranquil that reminded me of the simpler time is really what I want.

Romp around Europe with 2 talented sons and their dad.
Ignoring the typo's and the reminders of dad's knee replacements, this is a fun way to explore some of Europe and learn about WWII from an aging veteran as he passes his legacy on to his talented, albeit delightfully juvenile, sons. One can relate to many of the author's memories of his youthful pranks and escapades, appreciate the beautiful sketches and oil paintings included by his famous brother, Thomas Kinkade, and appreciate and admire his father's service to his country. The misadventures of these 3 on their trek through Europe had me laughing out loud while also encouraging me to "go off the beaten path" that tourists normally take, appreciate the stories of the locals, and experience what's down the alley and over the wall.

A sweet and funny journey!
I read MANY books in a year and so many of those miss the mark of giving me exactly what I want from a story. This book simply and sweetly went straight to my heart! It was a pure joy to read and was made so much better in that it was REAL! I not only envy the Kinkades for the depth of talent that runs in that family (Patrick is an exceptional writer!) but their closeness and love as a family is very inspiring. Everyone should read this book!

Travel vignettes of the British Isles and Europe
A mini, armchair vacation by Thomas Kinkade, the painter and sketch artist, and his brother Patrick, the writer and professor, recounting the travels with their father through the England, Ireland, France, Belgium, and Germany. This literary trip traces many of the sites their father saw during his World War II tour of duty. Each chapter is short and perfect for a brief, relaxing, and often humerous escape to another part of the world. This is one of those rare books that one will want to keep in his library for future re-readings.

Lighting the way home family bible
Most gorgeous bible I have seen. All the beautiful paintings will totally put you at peace while you're browsing this bible. All the inspirational verses and text are another way to get to know T. Kinkade, the artist and man. Have bought this for more then myself, everyone is just in awe seeing it. Scripture is very easy on the eyes, just done exquisitely, and with amazon.com
so affordable.

Inspiritational
I just received this bible for Christmas and I must say that it is the most beautiful bible that I have ever seen. Inside are pictures of Thomas Kinkade's work which are absolutely gorgous and inspiritational. If you are in the market to buy a new bible this is one I highly recommending purchasing. I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift.

Illuminating the Message
I can think of no finer artist to illustrate the Message than Thomas Kinkade! This magnificent volume is generously filled with his heart warming illustrations. Appropriately, his talent with a brush conveys his ability to capture the light and illuminate from within. I feel a stronger connection reading God's word with this Bible than I do with the one I have had for three decades. Indeed, worthy of being an heirloom!

It helped during a low period of my life.
Mr. Hughes' book is a big help to get closer to God. It allowed me to taylor the daily readings to my needs. It challenged me and helped me to find peace in my life. It gave me a greater understanding of God's word. I can not wait to find more of Mr. Hughes' books.

Insightful, deep devotional study guide.
An excellent devotional with scriptural support that makes one think. Much deeper than the average meditation guide. Index of themes is also most helpful. Highly recommend to those in pursuit of a closer walk with God. (Each devotional takes around 15 minutes.)

Very inspiring.
Every Day Light is inspiring and it gives the reader a opportunity to study the Bible. This devotional not only gives commentary but challenges the reader to give their input about the overall theme.

The beautides study was most helpful. Mr. Hughes presented provoking thoughts on this topic.

I will be looking forward to the next edition.

Beautiful, Comforting Scenery
When I view these images on the screen it gives me a sense of comfort, of home. It makes me feel like I am a child again in my Great Uncle's home playing in his gardens. Wow!

This One Will Take Your Breath Away!!!
This screensaver is a must for anyone who appreciates beauty!!! The breathtaking images added with the inspirational quotes give one a sense of peace and calm which is priceless in this day and age. I have set the screensaver to start at the minimum time and practically just sit in front of the computer, counting the time, waiting for the slide show to begin, not daring to touch the mouse or the show will stop. I definitely recommend this product and in fact, had purchased two more of the artist's screensavers for gifts to co-workers- could not go wrong with gifts like these...

Breathtaking Calming Impression
Never a day goes by in my world of hurry up and go, or hurry I need this now, that I surprisingly come to speak to a co-worker whose computer screen just took my breath away to a sit down and talk about mood of the Artist of Light who has come to be a favorite artist of mine for several years now.I wish to purchase this calm screensaver with its own lovely sensation of putting one in places where one would, could and even should dream of.Like I've already said ,"one beautifully breathtaking sensational art piece.

Superb sketching for real artists
Yes, this book has great (and I mean really great) sketches, apparently done on a marathon road trip in the '70s or '80s. Dynamic, free-flowing, expressive, two talented young dudes having a blast and amazing themselves with their own virtuosity. BUT- is this the same Thomas Kinkade who later trademarked the name "Painter of Light" and churns out the dumbest, treacly-est fantasy landscapes featuring "charming" cottages decorated with sprinles of sugary highlights, with quasi-religious titles designed to appeal to the Born-Again crowd in shopping malls everywhere? .... They ought to re-issue the book, though, it's really something to gaze at.

Outstanding presentation of the subject
University art programs should require their students studying drawing and sketching to buy this book. The Artist's Guide to Sketching is essential to the artist's library and is a must for people just starting. After checking out this book from library at the university I attend, I knew that I had to own a copy for myself. The sketches are beautifully executed and each has a lesson along with it. This book will inspire you in one way or another. Thanks and praises to the authors.

Amazing Book
I read this book in the book store, I couldn't put it down and bought it right after with tears still in my eyes. Thomas Kinkade is an extremely talented illustrator and the story is amazing. I read it in church as the message one week, it is just terrific!

A Christmas Blessing
I have been collecting and reading Christmas books with my children for over ten years, and this is one of our Top Ten! A warm and thoughtful story, with glorious illustrations. This book is an absolute 'must have' for your library and is a perfect gift!

Amazing! What a blessing!
This book will be one of your best friends while going through cancer or any other terrible illness. What incredible insight and encouragement this book has brought to me as I face my husbands terminal illness. A most appropriate gift for anyone facing like trials.

"True" to it's name: Encouragement and Comfort
My husband was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. A special friend passed this book along to us, as we face this battle. It is truly a book of encouragement, comfort and insight. Co-written with his wife, Dan Dravecky utilizes scripture to give new insight to life and expound on the promises of Christ. A book you will turn back to over and over again. A special gift for someone you know is facing a difficult time in their life related to illness. A gift.

LOOK CLOSELY FOR THE EMBEDDED EROTICA!
Kinkade takes a leaf from samizdat and Steven Soderburgh in this truly thrilling exercise in steganography.

Embedded within this tome from the "Painter of Light," like those 2 women/lamp Gestalt puzzles, are literally HUNDREDS of erotic scenes, featuring every possible position imaginable!

I couldn't believe it when I first saw it! But it's on virtually every page: everything- including the German Shepherd that doesn't take "no" for an answer is encoded here!

At least, that's what I saw...

Beautiful book. This is a MUST for art lovers.
This book is so beautiful you go crazy over just the Cover! This is a must for art lovers like myself. You would have to be crazy not to like it. The pictures are so peaceful you just get lost in a world of color and light!

Must See
This is surely one of the best books on the market today if you like scenery pictures. Mr. Kinkade's work is most breathtaking and he is a master at what he does. I highhly recomend this book to all of you.
