I read this book when I was a young girl, and checked it out of the school library so much, that when it became a little tattered around the edges from my constant reading, the librarian gave it to me for $1.00 and a smile.I was always happily entranced, following the exciting adventures with Bluebell, Robin, Mika and Gloria..but the dream ended 2 years later when I lost my only copy during a trip to Maine. 16 years later, and I'm still searching for another copy of Shadow Castle to no avail... but I never lose hope in finding the book and becoming entranced again with it's magical story.

My elder sister first introduced me to Shadow Castle when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Both of us enjoyed reading it to our younger sister, also. All of us have been enchanted ever since we first read it, nearly 35 years ago! I have been searching since a teenager for a copy, since ours was lost during one move or another, and have been disappointed until now! Thank you, Amazon, for finding this book and making it available to introduce to a new generation of fantasy readers! This book has inspired my sisters and I to a lifelong love of fantasy--the wonderful tale of mysterious castles, goblins, dragons, and royalty will certainly encourage and delight new readers everywhere! Now I know I can "die happy" since I have a new copy of Shadow Castle!

Like so many other reviewers of this book, I too read it when I was 10 and have never forgotten its magic. To my deep regret, I somehow lost my well-read Scholastic Book Club edition. But Shadow Castle left such an indelible impression on me that I continued to look for it anywhere and everywhere I thought I might find it, even going so far as to research Scholastic Books at the library, all in vain. Then when I'd lost all hope of ever finding it again, a miracle happened - my sister Patty discovered it at a garage sale and bought it for me for a quarter! (I think that's what I paid more than 30 years ago but I swear I'd have paid a hundred dollars just to have it in my personal collection again to savor anew.) It was one of the nicest presents I ever received (thanks, Tricia!) And now I can keep my treasured copy safe while purchasing reprints for friends (young and old) who I know will love this Brigadoonesque story of fairies and and eternal love as much as I do. This was a wonderful story set in the north Georgia hills. If you liked such stories as Cold Sassy Tree, Gone With the Wind or Fried Green Tomatoes you will really enjoy It Happened on Kendall Mountain. This is one of those stories that becomes a part of you as the pages fly by. Sheer entertainment!!

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL STORY OF A RURAL LIFE IN THE DEEP SOUTH A FEW YEARS PAS

I REALLY ENJOYED READING IT HAPPENED ON KENDALL MOUNTAIN,IT WAS SO INTERESTING THAT I COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE AUTHOR.

It is very hard to find a good clean book that you can really enjoy these days. This was a great book that brought the characters to life. When you read about the people and the mountains, you can actually feel like you are there with them. I was so excited when I heard that "It Happened On Kendell Mountain" had a sequel. When I read "A Very Wealthy Man" I felt the same closeness to the characters as I did in the first. I would recommend this book to everyone.

It is so refreshing to read books that are good clean entertainment! I am an avid reader and very much enjoyed this sequel to "It Happened on Kendall Mountain". The characters are so real and become like family to you by the time you finish the book. The great descriptions of the countryside and all the things of that era are very vivid and if you close your eyes you can really picture yourself in the North Georgia Mountains. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read books without all the "ugly" things of the world written in every other page.....overall, very good clean interesting reading.

We enjoyed the continuation of plot development in this sequel to the previous book, "IT HAPPENED ON KENDALL MOUNTAIN". The characters appear in believable real life situations, centered around the North Georgia mountain area, with actions extending far and wide. The complex story contains much intrigue, folklore, historical development, and excitement. Readers, both young and old, will enjoy this well written book.

BLACK PEARLS is one year's worth of daily meditations. The collection touches almost all motivational subjects. Reading it is a positive way to start the day. It's very inspirational. Written for African Americans, but good for anybody.

This black pearl appreciates Eric's ability to caputure the true essence of black love. The selection of poems was superb. I laughed, I cried but most of all I reflected, on what love meant to me. With Valentine's Day around the corner, this book was right on time. Thank you Eric...

This is a great book to read at the start of everyday. It can be read by anyone of any heritage or ethnic background, it applies to anyone and everyone. Its one of those books that "makes you go hmmmm."
