This is a great reference for students of British Ecclesiastical history, or for British historians. John Knox and the Coventers are all covered in this text as well as many other aspects of the great reformation country. Excellent referance for Pastors looking for illustration material as well.

This is a fascinating encyclopaedia of Scottish history as it relates to the church. (Most Scottish History had something to do with the church and its reformation) Not a book one would read from cover to cover, but a ready reference which has had me following one reference to another gaining wonderful insights to the otherwise shadowy realms of how the Christian faith has shaped Scotland and given the nation a significance in world history disproportionate to its size. I'll never part with my copy.

There is no doubt that an incredible amount of work went into this extremely comprehensive tome. I never failed to find what I was looking for especially with an attending impatiently tapping his foot while I was running to find out what he was talking about.

The format is quick and easy to understand and use. And there are syndromes you just never knew even existed.

Cats on the counter taught me a lot about my cat. Learning that she is scratching the couch to spread her scent, not to create disaray in my living room, went a long way to help me work with her instead of against her. Also learning that she receives stability from her territory being stable helped me make choices that better provide her with that security. As with his last book, Dr. Lachman talks about dealing with the loss of a pet, and I think that is an important aspect of owning a pet. The book contains wonderful true life experiences, and is easy to read and follow. If you have a cat or know a cat, you should read this book.

There are many dog training books on the shelves today. But, that is what they are, Dog training books. Lachman's book is different. It is about learning to live with your dog as part of your family. The techniques he uses to train the dogs are non violent, and easy to follow. He also includes advice for common problems like seperation anxiety and aggression. I have been using the techniques for aggressive dogs for 5 days, and am already seeing a difference in my malamute. In addition there are 2 chapters I think really stand out for me, and those were choosing the right breed of dog for you, and dealing with pet loss. I want a good dog, but I want a dog, not a robot. With Lachman's book you can have just that! With the familiar tone of the book, it easy to read and follow, and enjoy. If youhave a dog, or want a dog, Get this book. You will not be disappointed.

Dogs on the couch is an excellent tool for understanding the nature of canines and felines.I reccommend this book and applaud the idea of psychological techniques which I feel are used in understanding your pets. As far as pit bulls are concerned, I find that these dogs are friendly when like any other dog, they have a loving , and caring human enviornment. On the other hand, I have seen baby pit bulls abused where the owner will put his finger or wooden dowell into the mouth and place the finger or dowell behind the teeth and clamp down on the upper and lower jaw causing pressure to the dog and having the dog whine at first. Repeating this technique will eventually cause ANY dog to respond with an aggressive tone i.e. biting. Thus any time you try to pet this dog ,, he may bite. I feel that this book is required for all dog owners in understanding the ways of dog behavior and an insight to understanding that aggressive dogs like the human trained pit bull are at first friendly and that any dog can be aggressive or be friendly,,it all depends on the trainer.

I was just amazed at how this book changed the way I looked at my financial life. I'm sure if it waan't for this book I would be on the streets panhandling. It helped that much, Thank You!!

Sometimes one finds the fractal nature of detail in gross anatomy hard to grapple with. There is in fact a good deal of wheat that can be dismissed for chaff. Most good texts have clinical corrleations, however, these are not the emphasis of those books. This small book makes for good reading to test oneself on the logical implications of anatomy in a clincal setting. (Lachman constantly asks the reader questions) I found it both refreshing for its readibility (unusual for anatomy related texts) and its engaging style. A recommended read for any student of the medical arts.
