Great Fun!
My son and I have great fun reading this book together. Our joint renderings of "OH,NOOO!!!" become more dramatic (i.e., louder) with each refrain. The absurd humor is very accessible to toddlers and preschoolers, and the book is quite sturdy.

My twins favorite book!
"Oh, No!" is my 16-month-old twins' favorite phrase. They absolutely love this book. In fact, they've had it since they were just a couple months old, and I need to buy a second one because they've "read" this one so much. And yet, even I'm not tired of it yet. It's an easy read with hard pages. Our pages have food, and kiss marks all over it. Your kids will love it!

Special
This was one of the first books I ever read by myself, and I frequently used to go look for it in the library to re-read it. One of the more endearing books in my memory.

An excellent book for little football fans
Both of our sons love sports. And both have loved this book. It's simple, easy to understand and easy to enjoy. I, and my boys, like it because the stars are the animals, and the little boys that play football. The pictures are simple and descriptive enough to convey the message and the story moves along quickly enough to keep short attention spans occupied. We've read Kick pass and Run hundreds of times in the last 4 years, and now that we own a copy of it ourselves, we'll probably read it twice as often.

Ducks Don't Get Wet
This is a good book about ducks. It tells about how ducks are waterproof and it has an experiment on how it works. It tells how far they can dive and what they eat. It tells how far the can fly and which ones migrate and which ones don't.

This book was Fantastic !! A 6 year old must read book!!!
Hi! I am 6 yrs old and I loved this book. This book was great. It was sad but than very happy. I like Freddy and Tom. Freddy taught me a lesson. Never to quit and to find help. Freddy also had very good friends. I think that all 6 yr olds should read this book. The best thing is you can read it TO your parents instead of them reading it to you.

Spark a child's imagination!
This is the first science fiction book I ever read! It changed my life as I read about the expolits of two children living in a Mars colony. The young boy and girl discover that there is, indeed, life on Mars. This is an excellent book to introduce science fiction to a child. Well-written with science facts yet the two protaganists are likeable and interesting. If you love science fiction, share this with your children and spark that same love in them!

Terrific fun for young baseball players or fans
This easy-to-read book tells the story of four friends. In the summer, they like to play baseball, and in the winter, they like to sit and tell baseball stories. Old Turtle himself tells the best ones, such as the story of Cleo, an octopus pitcher, who gets thrown out of the game when she throws a batter a fast ball, a slow ball, a curve ball, and a slider ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Well, she does have eight arms. This is very easy to read; at about a first or second grade level. My six-year-old son and I LOVE this book.

This book is easy and fun to read for children.
My family read this book over and over when I was a child 30 years ago. I still have it and my children love it. It's a family heirloom at this point. My sister and brother both want it to keep as a rememberance of their childhood. We all agree Mr. Pine's Purple House was our favorite childhood book. (Actually, my sister can read the whole book without looking at the words!!!) Thanks!

Mr. Kessler I wish my mom kept this book!
This story was my absolute favorite as a child. I only can wish that one day I will be able to share it with my kids. Not only do I wish to share this with my own children but also with the children I teach. I believe it is important to reinforce, as a role model, my love for reading, and what better way to do that through my own childhood memories. I am afraid I will never see that purple book again. We all have our favorite books, but this one was very special to me. It painted such wonderful color and creativity in my life. I do have other favorites, still published, but this was the cream of the crop for me, as they say it. I just now will know better, to keep all my childrens favorite things, because you never know when they may want to cherish it again, we only get one childhood and memories are usually our only link.

Best book ever
This is the one book that I remember from childhood. Today I tell the story to my nephews from memory and also tell them how my mother used to read me this book before bed. They always ask me to go buy a copy but so far no luck. Mr. Pine's purple house has made my life more colorful and I hope my children will recognize that being different is being yourself.

ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOKS
This was a very entertaining book to read as a child. I would ask my mom to read this one over and over to me. She did the voices so well. It is a good addition to any child's collection of reading books. I loved the way he mixed up all the signs and finally found his glasses in his dog's house.

Great for Pre-Kgt through 3rd grade children.
This book was my middle son's favorite book of the many I read to him. When he learned to read on his own, he delighted in reading the street and store front signs that were familiar to him from all around town. He would laugh out loud on every page, as Mr. Pine lost his glasses and put the wrong signs up in the funniest places! Today my son has a kindergartener of his own who would enjoy it just as much!

An Old Favorite!
I actually have the original edition of this book in all it's yellowed glory. My parents gave me heaps of my childhood books after my son was born and this has become one of his favorites. I am thrilled to find it in a new edition so that the old one can be left to rest before it completely falls apart.
The text of this book is so well done for beginning readers, with lots of word repetition. Also, I think the signage helps children to recognize words by their shape before they are able to actually read. My 3 year old can read the "stop", "go", "fast" and "slow" signs along with a few others just because he recognizes thier shapes and colors.
I'm excited to see what other beloved books of my childhood will make a comeback. This is a delight!
