Couldn't put it down!
I picked this book up as something to read on the plane, not knowing or even hearing of Ms. Kellogg ever before. But, once I started reading it, I just couldn't put it down. I was very impressed with Ms. Kellogg's style--she gives her main character, Lilly Bennett, such insight and wisdom into all the other brilliant characters that inhabit the story, I was enraptured to the end. I love the setting and general feel of the book- the laid-back, yet sophisticated upper-class western that the book is set in was a breath of fresh air from what seems like every other stuffy, old-school murder mystery dealing with the upper class.

I'm working on reading all the rest of Ms. Kellogg's work now, and I have to say that it just keeps getting better. Kudos to you, Marne!

Kellogg's prose has gotten even more crisp and pithy
Forget the plot -- read Kellogg's books for her wordsmithing. In this novel, sleuth Lily really comes into her own with her on-target marksmanship rivaled only by her pinpoint accuracy in assessing the world as we know it. Her comments on an indecent exposure case are worth the price of admission. And how refreshing it is to have a protagonist who doesn't cut her own hair with nail scissors but who can still shoot-em-up with the best of 'em.

Full of wit with an exciting mystery and great detective.
Heiress, private sleuth and U.S. Marshall, Lilly Bennett, is finally getting married, an event which her mother had almost given up on. After more than a couple decades of trying to find the right man, Lilly is marrying Richard...who is everything a woman could want. She takes on the case of a murdered oil heiress the week of her fabulous wedding and puts not only her life and that of her brother's on the line, but is expected to attend a number of high society pre-marital parties. Can she do it all and still keep the love of her life? Lilly has fun skewering both ends of the political spectrum as well as societal mores. A professional woman sleuth...with a big difference.

Ms. Kellogg lives up to her reputation
Curtsey, the second book in Ms. Kellogg's Lilly Bennett series, is just as wonderful as all the rest. Kellogg portrays Bennett brilliantly, giving her wisdom and insight into some very human traits she encounters throughout the book. I couldn't put this down, it truly is a breath of fresh air if you're used to reading normal, stuffy murder mysteries that involve the upper-class. This mystery, while still dealing with the upper class, is both funny, entertaining, and a great, easy read. It's nice and light but still grabs your attention and won't let it go. I highly recommend it.

A Wild Read
What a ride of a read! INSATIABLE was quite a reading change from one of my favorite mystery series, the Lilly Bennett series and the author Marne Davis Kellogg. Ms. Kellogg had written an entertaining novel with all the quirks of mystery, suspense, romance, exoctic locales, and a wide range of characters. How could anyone not laugh with Nigel as he very seriously studies his medical journal for symptoms of his latest "fatal disease". His devotion to Madam and the situations they join or face leads to a breathless finale. I thought I had figured out the ending but mercy was I wrong - and a little bit right! Try this title, I believe you will enjoy the story. This loyal Lilly Bennett fan applauds Ms. Kellogg for a writing job well done. I await the next installment in her writing career.

Insatiable by Marne Davis Kellogg
Quite entertaining. Different from her Lily Bennett series but every bit as fast paced and entertaining. This is a book you start reading and then don't want to put down. Unique plot and characters.

An Insatiable Read!
To find a book like Insatiable, written by Marne Davis Kellogg, is like discovering a special treat. From cover to cover, Insatiable is delicious. With vivid, memorable characters, Insatiable enchants the reader, so they'll feel they are in the middle of a journey ... one they won't want to end!

Lilly witnesses a murder at a fundraiser
During a charity dinner, a well known ex cowboy star is murdered in front of a room full of Wyoming's rich and famous. Then one by one, a whole family of ruthless land grabbers are murdered. There seems to be a connection with Las Vegas and Lilly enlists the help of her brother and some other old and new friends to solve the murders.

As always, this series features heiress, PI, and US Marshall Lilly Bennett. As unrealistic as the series is, it is very entertaining. The book is full of colorful and fun characters, from crazy ranchers to transexual rodeo stars. Great fun!

Murder, marriage and showgirls! What more could you want?
A boring tribute party quickly gets exciting when a commando dressed intruder blows a large hole in Clay Parker, hasbeen cowboy star, before U.S. Marshall Lilly Bennett Jerome can react. Soon Lilly is involved with visiting Las Vegas showgirls, missing Faberge eggs that belong to a former flame of Lilly's and current Mafioso, family feuds over land use, and brother Elias Bennett's pending marriage. And murder after murder.

As satisfying as the previous Bennett books, with more than normal confusion. Lilly's family, friends and associates are a delight, but at the rate people in Roundup are dying, it won't be long until only the Bennetts will be left.

MYSTERY and MURDER with HUMOR
This is my first read by Kelloggand what a kick! One murder afteranother keep US Marshal LilyBennett with no clues but pressureby Janet Reno to get the casessolved. Wyoming has lots of landand lots of people scheming underthe table to get that land. Theauthor tosses humor into the mixand finally puts all the piecestogether to solve them all. Ihad no idea who was behind themurders and there is plenty ofsuspense to keep you reading right up to the end and you finish the book with a smile onyour face knowing that the birthday gal ends up far awayfrom where the party was to beheld. This s just the book toread between the more seriousmurder-mysteries. I intend to readmore of Marne Kellogg's books.

Great, Easy Read...
Tramp is a great addition to the Lilly Bennett series. This is the kind of book you can easily read on a rainy day. It holds your attention until the very end.

Still a great read but not quite on par with the first two
Lilly Bennett continues to solve the mystery while cutting a swath thru food and drink, clothes and parties, that most of us only dream of. Her catty insights and tongue in cheek comments are delightful. But, there's something different about this Lilly. I'm not going to say what, see for yourself. It's still a great series and I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Charming Down Home Mystery
Lilly Bennett was born to wealth and privilege. However, the vibrant Lilly is too intelligent of an individual to settle for a jet set lifestyle. Instead she has spent two decades working for the Santa Biancan police force. To avert a potentially nasty scandal, she resigns from her job as Chief of Detectives when she is caught in a compromising position with a married State Supreme Court Justice. Lilly returns to her home town of Round-Up, Texas to accept the position of U.S. Marshal. She also opens up a private investigation firm.

Her current case evolves around the death of Cyrus Vaile, a wealthy business-person, who bought and financed the local repertory theatre. Before the wealthy individual overdosed from excess digitalis added to his specially blended tea, he hired Lilly to learn what happened to the $20 million endowment he bestowed on the theatre that mysteriously disappeared. Not soon after Cyrus' death, an attempt is made on Lilly. That incident is followed by the death of an individual who ate poisoned mushrooms at a theatre party. A sabotaged catwalk falls onto the stage, injuring many of the performers and killing one person. It would be obvious to even the most obtuse person living inside the Beltway that someone is after individuals associated with the theatre group. Unless Lilly can find the culprit from a host of potential murderers, more death will follow.

The protagonist speaks with a brutal honesty that, though a bit brash and colloquial, perfectly fits the character. This makes the novel ring true. The cleverly constructed storyline is populated with an eccentric and colorful cast of scoundrels. Each one of them could easily be the villain. Tramp is a witty who-done-it that makes for fun reading.

A heroine with potential
There are already several sequels to this first mystery by Kellogg, but I was attracted by the setting and thought I would start at the beginning. It was fun to read with a clever and funny older main character and I'm looking forward to the others in the series.
