This book is an excellent choice for anyone who is either just starting out in the field of Latin American studies or just looking to add to their collection.

This book is very informative, yet boring. My professor also believes that the author is opinionated, thereby leading to a biased account of Latin American history. However, after reading the material I felt that I had learned something and felt knowlegable about the subject. If you can get through the sometimes boring reading, you will be well-informed and prepared for history tests. :-)

Keen and Haynes have put together a very complete account of Latin American history. The book is extremely thorough and serves as an excellent historical reference. It is a heavy read, but it will almost certainly contain any historical information one might be seeking. Very informative!
