Basic Math at Your Own Pace
I consider my self not good at math and this book really taught me what I did not learn in high school. It has several exercises and several examples to follow. From fractions to geometry everything is lay out. Very easy to understand and right to the point.

AMAZING!
This book is so simple to understand. The examples help out so much with the exercises. I thought my math class would be very difficult but with the help of this book I know I'll pass the class.

Why is the InterAct Math Tutorial Software not included.
The only thing I can find wrong is that the disk mentioned in the Preface was not included with the book. Would be nice to know how to acquire this disk. Something like phone numbers, sales stores, or even how much the cost is for people who can afford it. Will the school be able to acquire one? Very sketchy data about this tool. Otherwise the book is excellent.

A great book!
I love the way this book has you work out problems in the margins as you go through the reading. This makes sure that you understand the work that you've read about, before you go on to the next piece. I also like the fact that every other odd problem is solved step-by-step in the back of the book.

This book has everything a Algebra 1 Student needs
Good Exercises and Examples, follows my childs High School Algebra every step of the way. The only problem is the web site is not working yet, but the book is worth more than it is sold for.

Math Books by Keedy &/or Bittenger
As an engineering physics honors major in college, I had to learn a lot of math. As a female majoring in a traditionally male field, I had to work especially hard. It was necessary for me to not only to know the necessary algebraic, trigonometric, calculus, and differential equations--I had to know why they worked! A math professor handed me copies of textbooks by Keedy & Bittenger, telling me that they were the only texts he had found that would allow me to learn the material on my own. Their systematic, graduated approach, clear explanations and examples, and answer keys--which showed not only the correct answer but every step of the solution--really made it easy to learn the material quickly and thoroughly. They saved my freshman and sophomore years!

Now that my own daughters are learning this material, I'm ordering the same books for them--and enjoying the same results! I've looked at many math texts (Saxon math, etc.), but none have been as comprehensive and easy to use as these. I recommend them highly!

A pleased student
As a college student I am impressed with this textbook. The explanations are clear, the exercises make sense and the text refers to resources on the Internet and on video. I have never had a word of praise for a math textbook before I read this book.

Review from a college student
I really did not like this book. There is not enough examples to go along with the problems that you have to do. Most everyone in my class had the same complaint. The workbook was not required, but I don't think you could do the work without it. I wish the college would get a different book. I am also sick of Marvin Bittinger thinking everyone is interested in working out because he is. Get a clue Marvin!

Great, thourough, easy to learn.
It is a great source to learn algebra a recommendation would be to use the Introductory to Algebra by the same Martin L. Bittinger or have already learned Algebra I, Because this book is really fairly advanced for younger students and is covering mostly Algebra II information.

I cannot believe how much I paid for this book!
Sullivan's "College Algebra" is a mish-mash of material, very little of which has any relevance to the questions at the end of each section. I am extremely upset that my university changed to this text, as it is vastly inferior to our previous book. There are no examples of key points that are needed to complete homework. What explanations that are available are hard to decipher, much less understand. This text should not be allowed to be used in any classroom, college or high school.

A good start...
This book covers algebra very well. It is a simple, easy to understand text that most students seem to be able to grasp. It's main attribute is that it treats college algebra simply and does not scare students away. This book is also a good place to start if you are attempting to self teach.

awesome service
order was not shipped the same day, so seller gave me a discount and I still received the book pretty quick. Great customer service. The book is in mint condition.
