Insightful, Thought Provoking, Empowering and Life Altering
Mary Kay Mueller does an amazing job of not only inspiring but empowering you to make life altering positive changes in your life. In her book, "Taking Care of Me: The Habits of Happiness," Mary Kay compiles what all the great inspirational leaders have said and adds to it her own experience and wisdom. In addition, she provides you with easy to follow tools for actually bringing her positive, and empowering messages into a reality in your own personal life. She offers more than inspiration but rather shows you how to be more aware of yourself and your life at the present momoent. Using her FGH formula I was taught how to make GENUINE, lasting improvements in my own life. She does this all with a REAL, simple and DIRECT approach that is easy to follow. I highly recommend that you buy more than one, because you will want to share this amazing book with everyone you know!!!!

Changed my Life
I heard Mary Kay Mueller at a speaking engagement and immediately purchased her book. It has truly changed my life. Her thoughts on gratitude make me realize just how lucky I am. She doesn't preach to you, she empowers you! I recommend this to everyone! Even if you think you're happy, this is a great tool to be even happier! Her suggestions are realistic, you can increase your level of happiness overnight with as little as 2-5 minutes a day! Wonderful!!

Taking Care of Me
I am so pleased to recommend this book! I have had the opportunity to use it as a reference for women who are taking care of everyone but themselves. There are so many self-help books on the market, but few that reach the caliber of this book. The message is helpful, practical and useful! Mary Kay has a great sense of humor that cushions the hard lessons that many women need to learn. She speaks from her heart and from her experiences and all of us would benefit from spending a few hours with Taking Care of Me. Thank you Mary Kay!

Touching
There is such a beautiful marriage between the words and illustrations of this book. A treasure for any friend.

Wonderful Gift!
This book is a wonderful gift to give to someone you love. It is beautifully written and illustrated. The story, a journey about discovering the "heart of friendship", is very touching.

I received this book as a gift and now I give it often
I was given this book by a special friend and found it to be a great gift for me to give others. Anyone who has been there for you needs to receive a copy. Sometimes the best gifts are ones like this that can be re-read and may mean something new as life and friendships change. I no longer see the friend who gave me mine, but feel close to her each time I read it. My only problem is remembering to whom I have given copies of the book. Solution: I now write in the back of my book the persons name/date/event so that I don't give the same book twice! I also do this with another great gift book called "Hope for the Flowers".

I was literally howling when I read the book
As I said, I was literally howling in laughter when I read the book. My favorite is when Steve Dallas is the "Charred Chested Chump", a spoof on Michael Jackson, before he got weird. If you love Bloom County and Outland, I recommend this.

"Back! Back, you pink, perfumed peahens from purgatory!"
This book covers Bloom County from late 1987 through the end of '88. In addition to the title continuity (which sees Opus once again searching for his mother, this time at a Mary Kay cosmetics-testing lab), the dreary days of the '88 Presidential campaign are recounted here (Bill & Opus are once again running on the Meadow ticket), the gang turns into bootleggers when their miracle hair tonic is ruled a controlled substance, and everyone goes into a panic when new federal legislation demands that a female character be added to the cast - and one of the animal characters is secretly a girl! See Spuds Mackenzie as a presidential frontrunner, see Opus take on the life of a farmer, see the debuts of Milquetoast and Ronald-Ann, see Opus attempt to join the ranks of tobacco addicts, and more! This is the period that Mr. Breathed fully realized the surrealistic style that would define the latter days of Bloom County, and carry over into Outland. The Mary Kay continuity alone, however, makes this a must-read.

Bloom County! Milo, Opus, Binkley, Bill, Oliver, and more!
"Even their uzis are pink!!!" The Mary Kay Salesladies are still running amok across the country like Opus after Boinger practice! Though, now that I think of it, my opinion of them was never so skewered before discovering Bloom County...Berke Breathed at his best!

This book has moved me to action! I've already found my "heaven on earth," changed my viewpoint about beginning my new job, and written down my goals. And I'm only on Day 8! I'm well on my way to a "...Healthy 21st Century Attitude!" What a great book! Thank you, Mary Kay, for writing it.

21 Days to a Healthy 21st Century Attitude
Easy to read. This book is full of helpful, practical and useful information! Everyone should have a copy and refer to it daily.

Required Reading!
As a high school English teacher, I have witnessed the profound impact just the right book can have on a student when read at just the right time in his or her life. This book has had that rare transformative effect not only on myself, but also on everyone I know who has picked it up.

Every now and then a book comes along that has the power to change lives all over the country. This is one of THOSE! Enjoy it!

A Great Read - Even for Dads
An incredibly heart-warming story of a person and a family that manages to pull off what appears to be a rarity these days: living a real life, in spite of everything the cruel, real world of patriarchial American society throws at it.

Blakely's story is interesting - even for a guy - because she is able to reflect so well on issues that must be of interest to anyone raising a family. She repeatedly points out where the primary blame for a deeply troubled society lies: not with the children, or the parents of those children, but with the attitudes, norms and expectations of that society. Blending this with an uplifting tale of a true survivor struggling through 18 years of raising two kids, she offers a hyper-realistic glimpse of what child-rearing is about for most of us: ups and downs, cookies, and anxieties, frustrations and guilt trips.

"American Mom" is a "must-read" for all Moms.
"American Mom" is a book that should be passed from Mom to Mom until every women who ever washed Cheerios off the floor for the seventeenth time this week has read it. It will make you laugh, cry, and shout "yes" as you live life with a woman who tried to do it all. Although she failed (big time), she survived, and lived (but just barely) to tell the tale. Do you know any women who try to take care of everybody and everything? Give them this book! It may not change their life, but it will make them laugh. You will never again stand and watch a child screaming in the checkout line at the grocery store without thinking of this book. Moms of the world, read this book, and UNITE!

Easy to understand - a breeze!
Information is presented very clearly, and it's simple to follow. Finally - a math book for the non-math majors to "get"!

Review of Mary Kay' s Essential Mathematics
I was a student of Mary Kay Beavers in 1998. I found that this book not only taught me how become more familiar with my number sence, but it showed me types of ways to approach mathematics. I found that when I first used this book my anxiety level towards math was quite high when approaching math problems. When I finished the book, my anxiety practically dissapered. Essential mathematics is self explanitory and fun to work with. I actually enjoyed doing my math homework for Mary Kay (sometimes). I definitily advise anyone who is looking for a great way to learn arithmetic, munber sence, fractions and algebra to GET THIS BOOK!! I also reccomend her game called EQUATE. This game ranges from all different math levels-including children. It actually makes math a lot of fun. Any Scrabble lovers out there? EQATE is very similar, although it is w/ numbers.

Quick summaries to get you through class and 1st year exams
If you are not understanding civil procedure and want something to clarify the rules or subject matter/personal jurisdiction, this is a good book to start. It provides clear summaries of the rules as well as the policy debates underlying issues raised in procedure. Keep in mind that this is not a law review article, so in essence this book is more aimed at summarizing all the critiques and debates that have gone on before rather than looking at the law from a different angle. But if you want a short read that will get you through the exam, this book is just as about as useful as anything else you might come across. There are professors who base their classes on this book, as well as students who diligently read this book every day to prepare for the socratic questions they can await in class the next day. If you want good grades, though, I think it takes more than reading all these horn books and what not. A lot of it just comes down to the processing and understanding of the material, which can be daunting at times and actually just comes at different times for different people. However much you read these hornbooks, if you don't understand the stuff or can't apply it, it won't actually help you that much.

Succinct summaries of FRCP
This book is commonly used by first year students in civil procedure. I have known many students in the past who have found the book helpful in explaining the intricacies of the federal rules. A must read.

Searching for Blanche: A Novel

Belle is a compelling and complex characater.
Anyone who is a fan of "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams will find SEARCHING FOR BLANCHE a must read. Long after putting the book away, Belle and Art will stay on your mind. Enjoy the read. Enjoy the ride.

A great read
I grew up with the author, Mary Kay Remick. She was born a Southerner who got transplanted to the North when young. We attended elementary school, junior high school and high school together. She was not only a pretty, vivacious girl but a very perceptive one as well. She was always saying she wanted to become a writer. I lost track of her after high school graduation and didn't see her again until our 45th class reunion when she threw herself into my arms and gushed, "Oh, Dennis, I finally got to be a writer!" And I am here to tell you that she became a very good writer. Belle, the protagonist of her first novel, 'Searching For Blanche', is a true to life character with whom I can identify, sometimes reluctantly. As a member of AA for twenty-six years I have seen her in myself and in many women who have worked out their problems. And some have stories far more bizarre than Belle's. Then there's the taxicab driver, Art, a man who has discovered his anima in Belle and becomes completely entranced with her. I can honestly say that once I picked up the book I could not put it down - not just because I know the author but because I just had to know what happened next! As the story unfolded I found myself identifying with Belle more and more, sometimes painfully. Mary Kay skillfully discloses the true Belle - slowly, which of course is the way we discover ourselves. And as in self-discovery, the journey never really ends, it just twists into a different direction. This book is a search of discovery, one in which we the readers participate.

The other night on 'Masterpiece Theater' in the performance of 'Prince of Hearts', a professor was made to say, "You do not study literature to learn about literature, you study it to learn about yourself." If that statement is true, and I believe it is, then Mary Kay has not only written a smashing first novel but has also produced literature.

Memories of Tennessee Williams
Helen M. Friese, Food and Travel Writer, Author of WHERE ATLANTANS DINEBLANCHE DU BOIS, STELLA, STANLEY, STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, BELLE REVE. Do all these names sound familiar? Do they perhaps bring back memories of Tennessee Williams?Mary Kay Remick's book is intended to do just that. For Belle Reve is searching for Blanche Du Bois in present day New Orleans and hooks up with a grumpy cab driver who gets caught up in her fantasy. These two opposite characters travel far beyond the boundaries of the "Big Easy" beforetheir saga is over.Belle is a troubled woman suffering from agoraphobia who meets Art Barkoff, the Checker taxi driver, a big rumply bearlike man who helps her with her impossible quest. The journey changes both of their lives forever.Author, Mary Kay Remick, maintains the pace with just enough mystery and involving plot to make it intriguing. Although dealing with phobias and depression, the book is also a tale of love and self-discovery. I enjoyed the fast-paced action, the humor and the warm undertones of this very southern novel

Very inspirational...
This is not a self help type of books for MK consultants. It describes the type of leadership you will find at the MK headquarters and throughout the company. Many business owners and corporations could learn a thing or two from this book, as well as the lay person in search of living a better life and improve their interpersonal skills. I am a consultant and now I understand many things I've been learning from my directors. If you are in MK you MUST get the book. If you are a business owner, YOU MUST also get the book.

A BOOK ANYONE CAN BENEFIT FROM!
I am a MK Consultant and this book is a great recruiting tool! A must-have for ANY MARY KAY Independent Beauty Consultant OR Director. Also, a perfect book for any employer or large corporation to read and apply the nine Leadership keys!

Wonderful
I'm in sales and marketing and loved this book, because it talks about the importance of people skills and making the customer feel valued. This is something I've always done, and have won numerous awards. People make things happen, not systems.
